Ultrasound that late in pregnancy is wildly inaccurate. They say +/-2lbs from what it might read at. I had an ultrasound the day before my water broke with DD1 and they pegged her at 6lbs 11oz. The triage nurse 24 hours later gave my belly a squeeze and jiggle and guessed an even 6lbs. DD1 was 6lbs 3oz. Squeezey belly nurse was closer in accuracy than my ultrasound was. Yeah the not real reliable doesn't make me feel great about making a decision of c-section or not based on that! I don't understand immediately pushing women into sections for bigger babies. Like I get the risk, but most people can birth big babies. I have a friend who had unmedicated vaginal birth with all three of her babies, all over 11lbs. It can be done.

My issue is my last one (8lbs 9oz) got stuck with shoulder dysplasia (luckily very briefly) and broke her collarbone. Which makes it more likely to happen again. The doctors have no magic wand though, they said it's still rare and sometimes the 8 pounders seem to be broader across the shoulders than bigger babies. I just wish there was a clear answer one way or another of what I should do, but even the docs seem very indecisive.

I can see them offering you some choices on delivery with that being the case. Hopefully you can come up with a plan that makes you happy.

Anybody else nesting yet? (I'm 29 weeks.) Yesterday I organized our storage room and today organized/cleaned the hallway closet and the closet of the nursery.
ETA: Also reported tomato plants and bought planters and flowers and did front porch baskets. I don't know where this energy came from!

I cleaned out the nursery and organized the closet and dresser in there a couple weeks ago, but that's it. At some point I'll go through and clean all my breast pump stuff and bottles I guess.

[ Ohh my gosh I can't imagine moving right now. When do you move? We move the first week of August. We're going home first for a weekish to spend with family, and then on to our new duty station. I went into TTC knowing if I got pregnant before this move I'd be moving pregnant. We'll probably have about 8ish weeks after we get there before baby girl arrives so I hope everything goes smoothly and I find good providers asap.

We get the keys to our house 7/10 and I told H I wanted to be fully moved in by 8/7. We still have to move DS out of the crib. I want to get the nursery ready, but have zero desire to pack.

We aren’t putting our house on the market until we move out, but we have 3 more weeks and let’s just say it’s been slowwww Luckily H and I are both WFH so we plan on taking a load over every day at lunch and unpacking it until they get the work done on our new house (carpet and paint).

We are having the military pack and move us, so most of my job is organizing, and then we are taking a good chunk of stuff in our cars so I will need to pack that stuff. Everything I've bought or made for baby girl is coming with us because I'd be devastated to lose it and the military doesn't have a good track record.

That takes some of the stress off, trying to keep a clean house for showings while moving. But still no thanks. 😆

beenthere I'm glad they are packing for you. Fingers crossed everything makes it! We also moved last year, and I'm hoping that's it for a loooong time. Didn't help that most of our stuff was in storage and we lived with my in-laws for eight months while the house was getting done.

But yeah, keeping it clean with a toddler and a cat is impossible. We hadn’t planned on moving until this time next year, but we really are running out of room prebaby so the extra space and better yard will be nice. DS is a wanderer (not a runner, but doesn’t stay still) so moving off a busy street will be super nice.

Never again having to move halfway across the country while in 3rd trimester or with a newborn is definitely in the “pros” column of reasons why this is probably our last baby. I’m down to being maybe 95% certain this is our last one. I'm like 99.8% sure this is our last. I'd be 100% but the idea of getting fixed during my csection gives me pause. But I also refuse to do BC anymore since having a csection means I can choose to get snipped and forgo HBC. But the finality of it all is making me second guess.

My husband offered to get snipped after #2, so he's more than done. This pregnancy has been rough and I only want to go through the newborn stage (I've had horrible sleepers) one last time.

Going into it and then finding out we were having a girl made me feel sure about being done and plan on getting my tubes removed during my c section, but for the last several weeks I've been having a lot of pause at being permanently, forever, done, at 25. It's a big decision and I'm leaning towards just having DH get a vasectomy instead... Just in case something happens or we change our minds.

I know MH doesn't want anymore, and I'm pretty sure I don't want anymore either. But the finality of getting cut scares me.

H always wanted four. I wanted three, which is where we are now. I keep prodding him to tell me if he has negative feelings or second guessing being done at three since he always wanted more than that. He keeps saying I go through pregnancy, birth, newborn phase, not him, so if I'm done then we're done. It's frustrating. I'm very ready to be done, but the finality of the decision feels so heavy. This one being a boy might be what makes him ok with three as well. Now we have at least one of each. He's an only child and he has always felt passing on his name to be important, though obviously in today's world plenty of women don't change their names. Only child is also why he wanted a big family, something he wanted as a kid growing up and never had. But I get the mentality even as out dates as it might be.

We are still TBD on 2 vs 3. If it wouldn’t have taken 2.5 years to get DS we probably would be more likely to go for the third but at this point we are also looking forward to not having to do the newborn phase again after this one. And DS is getting so good at being out and about so we want to try vacations (since Covid ruined that).
Since it took 2.5 years and IVF for #1 and 1 year and FET for this one we probably won’t be big into birth control for awhile. We also will be paying for embryo storage for a few more years so we don’t have to go through all that again if we do go for #3.

Today I had my glucose test, follow up ultrasound, and got my pump. When she was talking about early labor it hit me that 'full-term' is only 7.5 weeks away.😳 It's starting to feel real.
Baby was measuring 1 week ahead, 66th percentile. Glad she's not huge, but still feeling very unsure about c-section or trying to labor and hoping I'm not the 10% that experience shoulder dystocia a second time. (I saw the PA today and not the doctor so didn't talk through that a lot.)

If it helps, my mom had shoulder dystocia with me and went on to have two more babies who didn't. And I wasn't even big. I was 8lb8oz ... My brother was bigger and it didn't happen.

Annnd that’s why they want to induce me early this time. I have already told my doctor I doubt any other doctor would have let me go that long.
