Also, I’m a firm believer kids just develop at their own pace. Our niece who is 7.5 still wets the bed at night. I was a late bed wetter too.

How’d tour meeting go? Are you feeling better about going back to the office? They seemed receptive, but after talking with one other concerned coworker after who knows more about the other office, it sounds like even though they say the right wear your mask if within 6’ of others, many including higher management don’t. I know my direct manager has significantly doubted covid numbers and accidentally sent me the article about our county removing the mask mandate, so I’m skeptical that he will enforce it. We agreed we would try to keep windows open for natural ventilation instead of AC (though summer will make that hard). I might move cubical to give me more distance since technically it’s just under 6’ where I currently am. They are letting us transition 2d/wk initially, but yesterday the email came out that our office will need to be FT in the office starting July 13. I don’t love it at all. We have a mask mandate in our state and nothing pisses me off more when I see people not wearing them. Like I get it. They suck. It’s hot and bothersome. But it’s a little thing if it means it keeps people safe. It’s definitely not cool for management not following the rules. I hope your transition back to work goes smoothly.

We have a mandate now as of Thursday for the state probably mostly because of stupid counties like none. I’m so glad!

I got my hair done on Monday and am so happy how it turned out. My hairstylist is my former neighbor and the salon has strict guidelines- everyone in a mask, temperature check, health questions, hand washing and spaced out stations, then no blow drying to minimize moving germs.
I got an antibody test for a research study from my work but was negative. I had no reason to believe I had had it but still.
Father’s Day we don’t have a ton of plans. Probably just hang around the house and then see my parents later for dinner.

We had to come back into the office a couple of weeks ago. We were working from home but had to have 1 person from our department come in per day to deal with faxes, so we would rotate. Our manager’s reasoning for having all us come back in was that she “likes to see our faces” and “all sorts of places are opening up”. It’s frustrating because even though we don’t have direct patient care, we still work in a hospital and would like to limit our exposure as much as possible. Even our employee health department is still recommending WFH if able. We did push back a bit but our manager was pretty firm on having us come back.

I was hoping that that kind of culture was going to change. Companies can see that people working from home is effective in a lot of scenarios. I don't understand the whole "I just want to see your face" as a reason to keep people in a potentially unsafe environment. I am sure the risk is minimal, but still, being at home would mean even less risk.

I was pretty disappointed when I tried to ask whether wfh would be a more viable option in the future since we’ve seen how it’s effective and it was shot down pretty quickly by my company’s higher up and HR last week. They kept saying if you are too sick to come in, then you are too sick to wfh. I beg to differ because without having any sick time, if I have a cough, I’m still coming in. And that sucks to expose coworkers to a cold. But I’m not burning my 2.5 weeks of PTO for the year on colds.

Also my coworker said today she say 4 women in the Common hallway Without masks, so exactly what we were most concerned about returning to. Exposure in our common areas like office building restroom. I’m so frustrated with having to go back tomorrow

If there was success with workers working from home, why wouldn’t they continue to encourage that or prepare for that when our second wave its?

Ds2 had his birth to 3 assessment for speech today. He actually does qualify for services due to some consonant substitution and syllable deletion. We did it over zoom and he was shy at first but then brought out all of his toys to talk and show them. I am so happy he qualifies, because he gets frustrated when we don’t understand him and I’d like to learn some strategies to help him.

My ds2 has his eval next week Monday. I’m crossing my fingers he qualifies as well.

E says so be pretty funny things when he talks. I don’t think 🤷🏼♀️ He needs services but I have no idea. N was pretty articulate at the same age.
E says off the top of my head: Fruck=truck Dick=stick Ginga=ninja

E says off the top of my head: Fruck=truck Dick=stick Ginga=ninja Not a speech therapist but those seem like normal substitutions for this age range. One of the big examples is instead of airplane he says hap-pain- so she said when you start replacing vowels with consonants that’s when it’s harder to understand. He says nake instead of snake but that’s completely normal for his age. My biggest indicator for an eval was me not being able to understand him at times and strangers really struggling to understand him. Overall trust your gut, if you’re not worried, probably not anything to even think twice about!

Hi all! Sorry I fell of the face of the earth again after popping back in. Quarantine exhaustion is no joke lol. I'm still WFH most days, I go into the office 1-2 days a week.
I'm terms of potty training H definitely is showing signs of readiness. We tried right after Christmas and realized he definitely wasn't ready then. I'm not sure where to start now as we had tried the 3 day method but I don't know if that's the way to go.

E has an dr appointment in July so maybe I will keys have them checkout when he talks since we are already there. I don’t think he has any issues with his speech.
Know what I’m tired of? The super independent stage. E wants to do everything himself.

Our doctor doesn’t do a 2.5yr appt and I’ve thought about asking questions through the portal. But I’m a crazy FTM about some stuff still.

Lol I will say, that even though I am not a FTM, I still question stuff because both of these boys are completely different. Nothing has been the same including my pregnancy, the newborn stage, and toddler world. Sure, I have a better idea of what to expect but E always surprises me 😜

I'm pretty sure our pediatrician loves us though even though we aren't there often **knock on wood**. Since B is smaller on the growth curve we asked if we should be concerned about his height once since H and I are both taller than average. The doctor asked H how tall he was and H replied "6' or 6'1" with heels"......so yeah. We're those people.

He's really grown a lot this year, but his weight has stayed pretty flat. H was small until he hit high school then hit his growth spurt, but was like 6' and 140lb. We're guessing that B is going to be the same at this point, but the doctor said if he doesn't hit a spurt by 15-16 we might do a bone test to make sure everything is ok then. We just haven't gotten to check his official height in awhile since we don't get a 2.5 yr check up.

Our new ped does a 2.5 year appointment which our old ped did not do. I was surprised they still did it with covid and all that. Both my girls have been really advanced in speech. I don't know why or how, but it just means they never stop talking. My house is SO LOUD all the time.
Both my kids are small. E, my 4.5 year old was always 90+% for height and like 20% for weight. C is smaller; single digits for weight and more like 60 or 70% for height. I suspect E will be taller than me, she got the tall genes floating around on H's side. C is destined to be short like me. Sorry kid, enjoy being 5'3" someday.
I didn't update here but I know some of you know already. C has spent the better part of the last week plus at our children's hospital after sticking her hand in the moving treadmill belt last weekend. It's been a damn nightmare. She had skin grafts on all four fingers on her left hand and will need a second graft surgery at some point in the next few weeks. So she's in a finger tip to elbow bandage for the foreseeable future and I have a sizeable pharmacy on my kitchen counter since she came home with a PICC line and needs daily dressing changes. It's been a whole thing around here and I'm so damn exhausted.

Oh my goodness cnf! I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine how hard that must be for you during covid. I hope she heals quickly. How is she feeling? She's ok. We're home and have to do daily wound care and dressing changes which is insanely difficult. A lot of fighting and crying. But aside from that she acts like her normal spunky self and is getting by with only one hand pretty well. It's healing but the current grafts are temporary to help her natural skin heal. She'll get permanent ones some time in the next couple of weeks. So unfortunately this is our new normal for probably a good 6-8 weeks? I'm not entirely sure.
