How is it June already?? March felt like 13 million years, April was only about 12, and then May flew!

I had my first teletherapy appointment with one of the birth center midwife. It went well. She was so thorough and spent a lot of time with me. She wanted to work on getting my anatomy scan scheduled. Since they don’t do diagnostic ultrasounds, they have a few practices that have agreed to work with them for those appts and they refer out. She said the biggest complaint from patients is that the sonographers don’t tell the patients anything during the scan and then they have to wait 1-2 weeks to hear back about the results.
I talked to her about how I’m really comfortable with my previous practice, technically haven’t told them yet that I’ve been accepted as a birth center patient, and how the sonographers are able to talk to the patients. She said they’d be fine with it if I wanted to go there for my anatomy scan and that they can recommend somewhere else if I need.
I called and left a message at my old practice to speak to my midwife. She encouraged me to seek out the birth center when I mentioned it at my last appt and was really supportive of it. I think it I talk to her directly, they might be willing to do my anatomy scan so I won’t have to go somewhere different. Also this practice is allowing one support person at appts so MH could join me which feels like a really big plus.
TL;DR - I’m working on getting my anatomy scan scheduled and transferring practices

I have my first appointment this week. I still have mixed feelings about choosing the OB practice over the midwives I was with last time but we'll see how it goes. My husband isn't allowed to come and I'm nervous about it.

Fearsy, good luck! That's odd that they won't discuss what they're seeing during the scan and why it would take that long to get results. The midwife practice I was with last time also sent me to a couple of different hospitals for ultrasounds and I didn't have those issues.

DD is thrilled because it’s officially summer this month.
I have an appointment later this week (I got off schedule being seen at 10 weeks, so they’re trying to get me back on track). I need to do the AFP test I think? Then my anatomy scan is on the 26th. I’m really hopeful that since we are now in phase 1, I can bring DH with me. But I’m not holding my breath.
I’ve been feeling G move around a ton the past few days. He gave me a really good couple of kicks the other day- I had DD come over really fast and she felt one of them! Mostly it’s a lot of floppy, flutter feelings down in my lower abdomen.

Also I get so irritated with maternity clothes sometimes. “Buy your normal size!” it said.
I got a tank top that is my normal size and tiny as heck. And I don’t even have a massive belly yet!!

I have an appt tomorrow. I'm really sick of loss brain. I keep thinking something is wrong and I just can't shake the fear. I almost rehearse what will happen if we lose this baby. Otherwise we have just been going through clothes trying to get rid of all the boy stuff I don't need. I want to sell it online as we have some great resale sites but ooph it's a pain in the a**.

The midwife practice I was with last time also sent me to a couple of different hospitals for ultrasounds and I didn't have those issues. I think it’s the difference between hospitals vs private practices. They used to send patients to the hospitals but when Covid hit, they partnered with a few private practices who agreed to do anatomy scans for them. But since you’re technically not a patient at that practice, the sonographer has to send the results to the birth center for review before then can tell you anything. That’s why I want to go to my old practice. I think they’d tell me what’s going on and I’d even pay OOP to see a provider immediately afterwards for results vs waiting. My assumption is that the partnered practices don’t give that option.

She was understanding and said that’s fine too so I’m super relieved!

(( sarahwithanh ))i’m sorry you’re having such anxiety about the baby. i have no pgal experience but i can’t even imagine. Fearsy i’m glad it all worked out without too much trouble and you can get your scan with an appointment right after. i can’t believe it’s june and some of us are nearing the halfway point already. time means pretty much nothing right now - i feel like this is a lost year. i’m having a really hard time connecting with this pregnancy and i’m not sure if it’s because of everything going on or if it’s just 3rd pregnancy. i have my 16 week appointment tomorrow so that is a bright spot this week. i am also hoping that by the end of the month h will be able to come to 20 wk scan.

sarahwithanh, good luck at your appointment today. I'll be 11 weeks Friday at my first appointment and scan. 11 weeks is when they finally confirmed my last pregnancy wasn't viable and my body had no idea what it was supposed to do.

Dammit, the prenatal screening test my OB offers costs $600 (and more if I go through my insurance). The company we used last time around I think was around $350.

Should be mid July but they called me this morning at 7:30am to schedule and then realized they don’t even have the schedule available for July yet. 🤦🏻♀️ She said they’ll follow up to get it scheduled in 2 weeks.

i have another headache and i feel like crap today. we started sending the girls to preschool on wednesdays ( just once a week) - they went back a couple of weeks ago. i still have mixed feelings and guilt about it but covid hit just as we moved and i haven’t had any time to get things fully organized and cleaned since we moved. the last 2 weeks i have run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to catch up and this week i just can’t do it. i had my appointment and got groceries. i am planning on cleaning the kitchen floor and doing laundry and then i am taking a nap. dd1 was super concerned that i clean and do laundry all day while they’re at school - “but you don’t want to do that - you should play!”. if by play you mean take a nap and watch some tv, yes i think i will today.

My appt went well. It was strange because it was only 15 mins long but heard baby's heart rate and no concerns. This is how mine have been- my OB has kept regular visits with me but they’ve been super fast. Yesterday they were 10 minutes late taking me back and I still surprised DH when I texted that I was leaving 24 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. They confirmed DH cannot come with me to my anatomy scan, whomp whomp. “If we make an exception for you, we’d have to for everyone.” I wasn’t asking for an exception, to be clear, I just asked to confirm he couldn’t come with me.

madewell has up to 40% off right now - their jeans are on the expensive side but i ordered a few and paid 55-80 for each. i’m only planning on keeping 1. they are my go to for non maternity so i’m hoping the maternity ones are decent. also free shipping and returns if you make an account.

I wonder if it’s that I’m pregnant during the warmer months instead of fall/winter? I had one last week that was just awful. My next appointment is my anatomy scan in 2 weeks and of course they scheduled it on the later end of things at 20+5. I have this paranoia as I’m getting ready to pass along our girl clothes that I will have my scan and they’ll say WHOOPS your NIPT was wrong and it’s not a boy, so I’m keeping the bins for now even though they stress me out. I also must have a posterior placenta this time around because holy moly this kiddo bops around every time I sit down!

i had headaches with previous pregnancies but nothing like this. i have been making a conscious effort to drink more water but i don’t know if it has done much. i think my symptoms have gotten worse with each pregnancy and i guess i’m just “old” so maybe that plays into it too. i’ve been feeling movement for awhile but more consistently in the last few days. curious to see where my placenta is.

This baby moves SO MUCH. I don’t think I ever felt DD move this much. He is having a serious dance party in there right now.

When did everyone start feeling movement? I know it can happen earlier after the first pregnancy but how early?
