I wish more of the pregnant ladies would play here! Is everyone hiding in bmbs? I don't think mine even migrated here.

I've noticed it's been more quiet than usual too. I think it's due to tapa not working and the holiday week - maybe lots of people are on vacation and not checking in as much?
Hope you all had a nice weekend! Ours was nice and relaxing. DH and I took DS swimming, and we ran into some other American kids to play with. I am not allowed to get in the water, but it was nice to dip my toes in and watch the fun/get some fresh air.

For me it's definitely because Tapa isn't working. Also, we've had a lot of house guests lately, which I'm totally over. I feel like we still have so much more to do before this baby gets here, DNW to entertain.

Taitai, glad you got out of the house and had some fun playmates for your LO! jexxa, I'm so dreading having house guests after this baby arrives. I don't normally mind, but it all sounds overwhelming. Hopefully tapa works here soon, I'm mobile almost all of the time. So it didn't affect me much.

I'm 12w4d today! We will be finding out. We had originally been toying with the idea of being team green for number two. But twins sort of changed that 😂

Is anyone planning on installing their car seat base pre labor? I've been debating on whether to have installed after 38 weeks, or just bringing it with us to the hospital and having MH install it then.
I wouldn't have the car seat in the car, just the base ready to go.

I'm also a super planner and want everything to be as ready as possible as early as possible.

One thing less to think (or forget;)) about and it will be nice to be able to cross it off the list of things to do heh. We just bought a new car so I will have to wait till we get it (next week). I will be just shy of 36 wks then but I just have this feeling baby may be early so I am trying to get things prepared well in time (so failing at that tho ha!).

@easilyunamused I would highly recommend installing it before baby arrives. DH was not the best at installing the base for ours (Britax b-agile system), and it took him like an hour of fiddling with it and watching YouTube videos to get it right. I wouldn't have wanted to be waiting for him to figure it all out while at the hospital dealing with a new born. Our problem was that our car doesn't have latch for the middle seat, so DH has to do a seatbelt install. The seatbelt kept loosening on him - which meant the base would wiggle all over the place. He finally had to look at the car owners manual and YouTube to figure out how to get the seatbelt lock function to work properly.
So yeah - in case you have an unexpected tricky situation like that, I would say so the install before baby arrives!

PSA: Lots of other sites are having sales to compete with Prime Day. One is Gap. They have several nursing tops on sale, plus 40% off and free shipping with codes MIDSUMMER and SHIP. I just got four tanks for $36.
And don't forget Ebates!

Taitai, ours has the anchors for every seat in the back and it super easy to install. I think that's why I'm hesitant to drive around with it. alwayscheese, I was considering that as well. At a police or fire station? Do nurses check them out? Or do they just make sure you have one in the car?

I just had 2 glasses of OJ and now I'm on coffee. I laugh in the face of acid reflux. 😝
But I'll pay highly for this in about and hour.

I just looked online for car seat inspection and our closest one is at the police station, where you call for an appt. When I do the hospital tour I'll ask about the nurses checking.
ATM I'm still trying to figure out my insurance to even get an OB/midwife!

At a police or fire station? Do nurses check them out? Or do they just make sure you have one in the car? Nurses will not take on that liability. A fire station will install and inspect it for you. That's my plan. And definitely do it before the baby comes. Last thing you'd want is to be messing around wth it and not sure if it's secure while you're waiting to be discharged, IMO!!

Do I need to pre-wash crib sheets and swaddle blankets? I pre washed everything. So yes, I would wash those. Blankets, some plush toys, etc.

I have six weeks but working every other weekend cuts my free time down significantly! Ahhhh

I'm freaking out about running out of time. I have six weeks but working every other weekend cuts my free time down significantly! Ahhhh Don't worry, it'll all come together. I felt the same around that time and now I'm almost 38 weeks with everything pretty much together and just twiddling my thumbs waiting to go into labor. Just make your list and check things off. And if everything isn't ready, no worries. As long as you have the 4 essentials, you'll be fine. Bed, diapers, clothing, and formula/breast milk is all the baby really needs. The rest is mostly for us.
