katespade, do you have a nursery theme picked out? That can help make things more exciting with a boy. With DS, we did a sea life/nautical combo. I ended up finding lots of cute clothes that coordinated once I settled into that theme. But you're right, girl stuff is adorable. I've gone a little nuts shopping since getting our results back!

I’m trying to avoid spending a lot of money since we need a new wardrobe for him, so I’ve only picked out a valance and hamper with elephants and some gray crib sheets. I’m going to try to sell some of the girl stuff, save some of the special stuff for when DD has kiddos, and have a quilt made with some of my favorite outfits.

My doctors office called this morning to tell me that my urine culture from Monday shows that I have a UTI. I was shocked because I have no pain but apparently it’s common. 🤷🏻♀️

I want to get the nursery going nope just waiting until 20 wk ...seems strange but it just seems so anticlimactic (to me) over the portal/phone. 🤷♀️i guess i just like a little bit more guessing/waiting.

Has anyone felt movement yet? Is it ridiculous for me to think that I felt something today? I’ll be 12w tomorrow based on my dating ultrasound. It felt very distinctly like movement and not gas but I don’t know if I’m crazy.

i think i have been feeling flutters since 13 wks. also feel like that’s pretty early but i’m pretty positive it’s not gas either.
i’m at the awkward phase where my normal pants aren’t comfortable and my maternity pants are too loose. i am strictly a jeans person and i hate this stage.

YES. and I ripped a hole in the butt of my favorite comfy leggings on Sunday night so I am struggling with pants currently 😫 it was warm enough for dresses this weekend but it is cool again this week.

I am not looking forward to the pants issues. Right now I can make due until around dinner time and then I am usually undoing my button and half way through dinner I need to change into my sweats.
I had some spotting yesterday. It really freaked me out. I'm just 9 weeks today and I don't want to trigger my anxiety more by trying the doppler and not being able to find the heartbeat. It was only a little red/maroon coloring around noon yesterday and almost nothing since and the MFM thinks everything is most likely fine.

Fearsy um no you’re not being hormonal. she clearly had a lapse in judgment. i would be feeling the same exact way. i’m sorry you’ve been put in this position. i feel like we have so little control over how things go in our pregnancies - announcing should be one of those things that shouldn’t be messed with.

Wow Fearsy, I would be livid! Kids can't keep secrets, especially at 4! We didn't tell DS until we were ready to share with others because we knew he'd be all over FaceTime/messenger about it (and he was!). Your sister absolutely should have known better. I'm sorry this changes your plans.

I just got an email from the birth center that my records have been reviewed and I’m now accepted as a patient! I just have to call today and schedule my first appointment with them. I’m thrilled and this has really lifted my spirits.

I had gone a few weeks without vomiting and had been feeling a little better and then BAM I got sick yesterday.
I’m hoping dry Cheerios this morning will keep it from happening today.

Trying to decide if I should be annoyed or not. I talked to someone last Thursday who was supposed to get a midwife to write an order for a repeat urine culture and email it to me so I can see if my UTI cleared up without having to drive an hour into the city. Never heard back so after I developed a weird rash over the long weekend that isn’t getting better, I called yesterday. Left a message, had to call back a few hours later and leave another message. Finally heard back and they still didn’t have the lab order and they asked me to send rash pictures for the midwife to review. They emailed me last night to apologize for not calling back; the midwife was tied up at the hospital all day. Completely understand, NBD. She said she’d ask the midwife to review the pictures and call me first thing today. It’s now almost 2pm and I still haven’t heard from them. I just called and left a message but I’m starting to get annoyed.

I never even considered that could be it because as a child I was very allergic and would have horrible reactions. This seemed too mild to be it but guess I was wrong! So basically nothing to do for it except what I’ve already been doing with the itch creams.
