I really have no idea what to think about any of this.

Part of the problem is that I look at everything through a lens of, "Is this just me giving myself an excuse to hold my previously held beliefs/not feel like a hypocrite"

I know Joe's generation were way more touchy feely so I can completely be onboard with her feeling uncomfortable. And he has SHOWN that he is very touchy. But to escalate to harassment years later and then 'forget' you didnt actually use harassment or assault doesn't help anyone.
Also I'm 100000% positive he made more than one woman feel uncomfortable.

I think I'm at the point where I can believe every word Reade is saying and I'm still going to vote for Biden. There's no way I'm voting for 45 and there's no way I'm not voting.
I wish she had come forward in 2007. Or a year ago. And before anyone comes for me, I know sexual assault goes unreported, that victims have a million reasons not to come forward, and she had no obligation to come forward even one second sooner than she did. But I still wish she had.

And the reality is that in our country it is still innocent until proven guilty and her story doesn't hold up to any sort of burden of proof even if you give loads of benefit of the doubt. I have had personal experience with another woman lying about assault, totally believable until proven that the guy she said definitely did it was actually out of the state that whole week. And then the story was well maybe it was a different day, different location, everyone started thinking different guy? it did not hold up in court at all based on that there was too much doubt about her story. and this wasn't that long ago to be in the sweep it under the rug time period of our treatment of these things.

A federal judge ruled against the cancellation of the NYS democratic primary, says it must be reinstated and a method for safe voting needs to be determined.

I have to say, if he runs for mayor of NYC, I may become a part of the #yanggang I think he'd do great things for the city. They could use his spry, forward thinking way of decision making.

I just read this article by one of the reporters contacted last year by Reade:
I think she does a really good job explaining things, how she's in a tough situation because she wants to believe Reade and break this story wide open, but the journalistic and societal standards for cases like these are so high, that makes it impossible without a mountain of hard evidence or other victims/corroboration. She acknowledges that victims often don't report, under report, or don't report linearly, especially when it involves powerful men; but at the same time, there are inconsistencies with Reade's story that raise doubt.
I still want to do more reading on this, of course.

I just got an email that Kamala Harris is endorsing one of my local legislator’s bid for the house against an incumbent R. I’m in Michigan. Is this a thing? Or am I allowed to read into it that she’s Biden’s VP?

Or am I allowed to read into it that she’s Biden’s VP? I think it's common for some more high profile politicians to endorse like that. I honestly don't think a final decision about VP has been made.

Anyone else get texts from Joe's campaign? They kill me. Nearly all of them come through in 3 or more parts, the three texts usually come out of order and sometimes hours apart. It's maddening.

I just tossed my absentee application in the mail. I've only ever voted in person. Honestly, I don't trust my vote to count, voting by mail. Depending on how things look come fall, I'll probably hold out on the absentee ballot and still go vote in person if I can. But I appreciate having the option. NY has some shitty voting laws.

Saw a bunch of liberals/Democrats/progressives on SM today talking about how they can't vote for Biden because of the Reade allegations.
Really? Really?!
I've got no problem with insisting on a full investigation of her complaint. But I suspect the people on the left calling for Biden's head already are really just bitter Bernie Bros who are mad about the primaries.

Governor Newsom signed an executive order for all of CA to vote by mail. My county has been doing that for a couple cycles now but glad it’s expanding.

Um if you trust the mail to send you your drivers license in the mail, and all sorts of other important documents by mail, why is voting by mail so bad? Ive almost always voted by mail here in az. I mean i dont like it when they call and election before opening all the vote from home ballots. But they do all get counted.

Biden and Bernie unveil Unity Task Force:
I am happy they are working together so closely and Biden is listening to the more progressive side of the party. I don't recall anything like this happening in 2016, and I really wish it had.

This is not unexpected but a bummer. The Dem candidate running to replace Katie Hill in CA-25 lost the special election. One major factor was likely not being able to campaign face to face for the last 8 weeks.
