Due date? 11/8/2020. There is a chance I’ll need to go in sooner- DD had IUGR and they’ll be monitoring me closely for it this time.
Job? I am an assistant director/teacher at a learning center.
Hobbies? LOL I have no real hobbies anymore.
Other children/pregnancies?
Pregnancy 1: DD, born 3/2016 Pregnancy 2: ectopic Pregnancies 3 & 4: early miscarriages Pregnancy 5: here we are!
Pets? We have 2 cats, a formerly fat one and a blind one, and then a bunch of fish (including 2 creepy ass cichlids we rescued)
Spouse/SO? DH is a saint right now dealing with my awful nausea
First Appointment? Today! And all was good. I’m really hopeful this time!
Symptoms? Nausea up the wazoo. I’m not vomiting yet but struggling to eat (very little sounds good). Sore boobs. Sleepy like crazy.
Anything else interesting? DD turns 4 at the end of the month and I cannot believe it.

Due date? 11/24 based on LMP; 11/28 based on O
Job? SAHM
Hobbies? Ummmmm...
Other children/pregnancies? Pregnancy 1: MMC resulted in D&C at 9w Pregnancy 2: CP Pregnancy 3: DD1, 4.5yo, born 9/2015 Pregnancy 4: DD2, turns 3yo next week, born 3/2017 Pregnancy 5: CP Pregnancy 6: Current
Pets? MH has a cat that’s been around longer than me. She’s lovingly known as DrunkFearsyCat
Spouse/SO? He’s great. Puts up with my bullshit and picks up my slack.
First Appointment? Nothing scheduled yet. Hoping my midwife will be able to just schedule an ultrasound at 7w instead of doing betas to avoid exposure.
Symptoms? Feeling a bit queasy here and there, wanting to eat all the things, bloated beyond belief (but that’s probably due to the food) 🙄
Anything else interesting? DD1 was a vaginal breech birth and DD2 was born en caul. So I’m interested to see how this one tops those 😂 I am known to cook my babies longer. DD1 was 10 days late (based on O; 14 days based on LMP) and DD2 was 13 days late. So I fully expect to be giving birth at least a week, maybe two into December. Oh and we are Team Green this time!!

Fearsy those are some crazy births! i am like the opposite in terms of pregnancies - i was induced both times, 38 wks for pre-e and 39 wks for complications with dd2. i can’t imagine going that long or going into labor myself. hopefully this will be my chance - although type a me really likes being induced (they’ve both been textbook so i’ve been lucky) also i like that we can all commiserate with the sass that comes with having 4 yo daughters or is that just me?

Oh polson mine is SO SASSY. She hates that I work (part time) all of a sudden and got upset that I was leaving, but I said “oh I’ll be home tomorrow night” and she replied “Huh, that’s weird.” Oh okay. She was a very serious emergency csection (like racing down the hallway to an OR, so fast they didn’t count the tools beforehand and needed an X-ray to make sure nothing was left behind in me, DH wasn’t even there until after she was out) and tiny at birth (5lbs3oz at 40w6d) so I’m hoping for a smoother delivery this time around.

OMG YES! DD1 is so sassy. She’s right at 4.5 and I will say that it’s gotten worse the last few weeks. She is sassy, talks back, disrespectful, and straight exhausting. I know it’s the age but damn!!

katespade that sounds like a really stressful delivery! FX this next one won’t be quite so terrifying and that YH will be able to be there with you the whole time. I know it’s still really early and things are changing rapidly daily. But are you guys nervous about what the Covid situation might have on labor and delivery for you? Or do you think it’s too early to tell? Or that this’ll be behind us by November?

I imagine this will carry over several years similarly to bigger pandemics like the 1918 Flu. My hope is that the hospitals won’t be overwhelmed, low on supplies, etc by the time we are delivering our babes.

I’m just hopeful that we will have some normalcy back by the time delivery comes. I need my children in school if I’m going to survive another one.

i’m trying not to freak out too much about how things will be in november, but i am definitely hoping things will be more under control. also wondering if things keep going the way they are for awhile if our regular appointments will be affected - like maybe phone? but don’t know how that would work with weight, bp etc? katespade was anything like that addressed when you went for your appointment?

The RE had me make an 8 week appointment but said he has no idea what things are going to look like in 2 weeks, so he encouraged me to also make a 9 week appointment with my regular OB as a backup. I think it’s really going to depend on what the scenery looks like as we go along. I honestly felt safer going to my REs office than anywhere else (I have barely gone out at all but still) but I know people can be dumb (see the number of visitors to the fucking cherry blossoms this weekend!).

Hi guys, I guess I will intro.
Due date? 11/13
Job? SAHM, volunteer; formerly a kindergarten teacher
Hobbies? Crafting, reading
Other children/pregnancies? Pregnancy 1: Missed miscarriage and D&C Feb 2015
Pregnancy 2: DS born Oct 2016, DS was premature and has Down Syndrome. He was supposed to be a Thanksgiving baby. He spent a ton of time in the hospital and has had a lot of medical procedures and complications over the last 3 years. He is doing really well now but we are always on high alert with him.
Pets? Dog, Madison
Spouse/SO? DH, married in 2013
First Appointment? I had one last week but too early to see anything really so I'm going back next week
Symptoms? I'm so sick. I starting throwing up today and I'm already on nausea meds. I had hyperemisis with DS. I'm also exhausted and sore.
Anything else interesting? DS was so complicated and unique I have no idea what to expect this time around. I've never been in labor, I've never breast or bottle fed, and this will be interesting. I'm really struggling with morning sickness at this point and don't know how I'm going to manage a toddler while this ill.

sarahwithanh I’m sorry. My nausea was completely debilitating yesterday- I felt like I could barely move around all day. I feel awful for DD because she just wants me to play with her, and it’s hard to do that. I’m thinking of you ❤️

sarahwithanh congrats! i’m sorry you’re so sick though. did it let up for you at all during your last pregnancy? No not really. I was on 3 meds for nausea last time and barely survived. Luckily I only ended up in the hospital once for fluids but it was a struggle

I sent a message to my midwife last Wednesday and still haven't heard back. So I called and they looked into it. They said the message was sent to their front office staff. So I pulled up the messaging service and asked specifically what to do so that doesn't happen next time. She walked me through it and all of what she said to do is exactly what I did. I asked, "So I do this again and how do I make sure it goes to my provider, then?" And she said after I send the message to then call the office so they can forward it. But...doesn't that just defeat the convenience of the online portal? Oh well. I'm waiting for her to reply now.

Just heard back from my midwife and she scheduled my ultrasound! No bloodwork this time so that's relieving. I go in on April 13th and should be right at 7 weeks.

my intake appointment just got changed to a telephone appointment and my ultrasound just got pushed out until 11 weeks due to stay at home order in my state that starts tomorrow. i don’t care about the intake, but i’m bummed that i’ll have to wait for the ultrasound. i get it and i know it’s the right thing, but i’m anxious to see a heartbeat. eta - i guess these are actually new covid guidelines and it has nothing to do with stay at home order. i’m also wondering if there are different guidelines for high-risk or ama patients (i’m guessing there would be?)

they are also not allowing partners for 20 week scans at this time. my sil is pregnant for the first time and went through ivf. i’m so bummed for them that they won’t get to experience that together.

polson, I’m sorry. That sucks so much. Where did you read that this is new Covid guidelines? My appointment is scheduled for 4/13 and I haven’t heard anything about it being canceled.

Fearsy i googled acog recommendations during covid and came up with this www.acog.org/en/Clinical%20Information/Physician%20FAQs/-/media/287cefdb936e4cda99a683d3cd56dca1.ashxit has university of michigan listed on it - but i think these are general guidelines/recommendations at this point (they seem to match up with what i was told though). it looks like they are only recommending in office visits at 11, 20, 28-30, 36, and 39 weeks. there are exceptions for specific high risk situations but they are treating ama as >40 here. curious to see what my practice has to say next week. also not looking forward to telephone appointments with a 4 and 2 yo demanding my attention most of the time. my therapist called to see if i’d like to do telephone appointments and my children were screaming in the background. not a great option for me. eta that link came off of this page www.acog.org/clinical-information/physician-faqs/covid-19-faqs-for-ob-gyns-obstetrics

Holy cow. polson. That is very....I don’t know. It’s thorough but I worry that my anxiety would be through the roof with only going into the office to see a provider 5 times! Thank you for sharing this. I will definitely be asking at my appointment.
