I can't help but focus on the reading test for 3rd grade. They're supposed to be the first week of April. Surely, they don't expect kids to do it when they've been off for 3+ weeks? I think he said they were waiving testing

He's agreed it will need extended beyond the 3 weeks but no clue for how long. Dare I ask, will we be back to school in the fall? i have anxiety of no summer camps I wondered about those too.

We’re in it for the long haul. DH is a paramedic and is essential.
I’m a teacher plugging away at distance learning with my kindergarten class and with my DS (gifted 6th/7th) and SS (3rd). If anyone needs educational support let me know. I’m certified PK-3 generally and k-12 in reading.
We’re close to the heart of the cases and there are cases very close to our town.

I'm joining this thread because I am from OH and currently live just 20 min away from the OH border. And most of my family is still there.

Our travels have only included DH going to & home from work. We haven't been out since Saturday. I'm kind of scared bc he works in Cuyahoga county & that's leading in the number of cases. I think it's just leading because they had the most tests at Cleveland Clinic

Just checked in with my MIL (they're in Perrysburg). It's her 69th birthday, she's in a wheelchair, and frail, and her husband that takes care of her is turning 80 next week. They've assured us they aren't leaving the house at all, but we still worry. My Step FIL travels a lot, so I'm glad that's shut down, too. Meanwhile my FIL is back in the main hospital because he was having recurring bleeds after his aortic repair.

I live in NE Ohio. I’ve been WFH since last Friday. DH still has to go to work for 4 hours each day. DS is in 8th grade and our school didn’t seem to be prepared for something like this, unlike DH’s school who haven’t really skipped a beat. DS got a packet of math work and that’s about it. Im sure he’ll get more work soon. I’m thinking DeWine is going to close daycares tomorrow. What else?

Someone asked about daycares today and he said he would have more info tomorrow so I'm 99% sure he is.

Someone asked about daycares today and he said he would have more info tomorrow so I'm 99% sure he is. Our daycare sent out a preemptive email last night saying they were closed after Friday except for front line and first responders.

Our daycare sent out a preemptive email last night saying they were closed after Friday except for front line and first responders. My daycare/preschool did the same thing except they are closed to everyone after Friday. I pulled my son out Tuesday and they announced it right after. I was already working from home and had three teenagers at home doing online school so figured it was best to go ahead and take him out. I work in Delaware now and i think they have two cases? I started full time work from home Monday though, no idea when I'll go back. You guys I am not SAH material and I'm scared. My kids are used to being out and playing all the time, we are probably going to each go crazy.

My eyebrows are arched over DeWine's comment that grocery store supply chains are doing great. Not sure where he is shopping, but it's not any of my local stores.

Kroger had nothing meat-wise except $30+ pork roasts, and Giant Eagle had no chicken or pork.

NEO here. Been lurking the other thread for weeks. My youngest child has asthma which is considered an underlying condition. I’m so worried and overwhelmed at the thought of bringing germs home (I’m a part time manager at a childcare center).

I told DH that's a last resort if we can't find anything bc we don't shop there on the regular.
