Heeeeeeey from the land of COVID-19 fears O17. Ugh - I’m just waiting for an outbreak to take off in our city. It’s not been fun, but at least we’re all healthy and had a respite from the horrible air pollution this weekend.
Tell me about happier things in North America!! 😂🤣😩

Taitai oh man... people are starting to panic here as well. This weekend we did our usual errands and I needed to get cleaning supplies because I am actually going to be out in a a few weeks and the shelves at Walmart were wiped out! I was like WTF. I am hoping they will restock so I can get them. I don't keep extras of stuff like that and only get them when I am running low. My friend's family actually just returned from Thailand. They were at her nephew's wedding and sounded like they had an incredible time and enjoyed themselves. Also we went to Costco which we don't often and when we do, we go when they open first thing in the morning and there was a line of people going into the store. It typically gets busy as we're checking out about half hour after they open so not normal. It's really inevitable that the virus is going to spread considering how rampant global travel is. I hope you guys stay safe. My sister also told me to get cold and flu OTC because they're getting wiped out too and I am awful about keeping that stock and only get it when I need it and it is C&F season plus hubs is actually going to be traveling again soon.

danvers totally adorable about DD2 and they are growing up much too fast! Lil fella is doing the same and loves "reading" the hungry caterpillar especially all the food the caterpillar ate. Did you transition her out of her crib yet?

Well I am totally procratiworking and really should be working tonight but I have no motivation especially when clients expect to turn things around immediately after sitting on info I needed for over a week which really was needed and required to meet their deadline. I am so over it at this point. Also I really really need to get a move on my folks taxes after I get mine done. I hate doing taxes. So lil fella is certainly getting sassy. I was prepping broccoli for dinner tonight: LF: Mummy, are we having broccoli for dinner? Me: Yes and chicken LF: I like broccoli. I don't like meat. If you give it to me. I'll spit it out .....dinner you guessed it, was a struggle.

curmudgeon thinking of you and your family. Is your uncle's surgery tomorrow? I hope it all goes well. It's tough when folks gets older. My dad is as stubborn as a mule and it's terrible of me to say that sometimes I just can't argue with him and let him make his own choice. Also hubs was just in your neck of the woods and we have temp swings like that which is typical. it was close to 60 on Saturday and it was below 30 that night and less than 24 hours it snowed. haha...

duskymonkey So sassy about his comments for dinner! My DS2 has started spitting his food out too - out of the blue! I told him he can’t do that - it’s not polite. He’s also started to blow bubbles in his milk. Naughty. Is everyone’s kids still in high chairs? We still use the IKEA high chair for DS2, but I feel like I had DS1 in a youth chair by 2.5. It just seems so high up, and I don’t trust DS2 yet to stay in a youth chair. I like containment 🤣😂

DS2 refuses to eat in a high chair at our house. He sits at our regular dining table on the bench with DS1. At daycare they all sit in youth chairs at a round table, so I think that’s his reason for refusal. However, at both sets of grandparents he happily sits in a high chair and eats happily. Wish he was as easy at home.

My DS2 sits in this booster chair. And I am not to buckle him. "NO I DO IT!!!!" Meals are getting a little better over here. We struggled with him for so long and now he can't get enough in his belly. I thought he was going through a growth spurt; either the growth spurt is lasting for a month or he's finally decided he likes to eat instead of fuss about every single thing. ***KNOCK ON WOOD***

CoachTsWife My DS2 has been eating like crazy too these past few weeks! Not sure what the deal is, but I hope it continues. DS1, on the other hand....well, that’s still a work in progress. Also - did I mention yet hear that my DS1 is FINALLY sleeping through the night? We’re at 2 weeks now, with no MOTN wake ups (or if he does, it’s just for 1 minute and he puts himself back to sleep without us having to go in his room). It took nearly five years to get there, but DH and I are like....

DS has been sitting in just a regular chair at our table since he was about 17 months. He sits on his knees and does just fine 🤷🏽♀️ He also sleeps in a toddler bed (well the side off his crib) and is potty trained. What happened to my baby 😭 DS2 on the other hand currently thinks 40-45 minute naps are the way to go 🙄

Whelp - I guess it’s time to assemble the IKEA youth chair we have waiting for DS2! I hope he transitions well. I’m sure it will be a bit messy for a while, but that’s life.

Lil fella is still in his high chair but sits at the table now - we have a Nuna so the height is adjustable. He's been wanting to sit on DS' booster seat - similar to CoachTsWife but we're not going to get another one. The Nuna we got for DS was really going to be the long term seat until he was able to reach comfortably in a regular chair. I am all for kid containment as long as possible.

doodlemommy you and Taitai birth unicorn kids! I was hoping for a DS repeat of poopy training with lil fella but not happening. He's now taken to "hiding" when he needs to go poop even when he's hanging out with DS or me, he would run away. I don't know how to do this now....meh. By this age, DS was also in underwear already.

Hubs and I are currently discussing how we should've bought ALL the TP when we were at Costco and when the time comes, we should sell it on nextdoor for $2 a square and $4 double ply square If we want to rip people off, we should go all the way. BTW this is what we do after the kids go to bed - discuss real important stuff. I also hate to add that, in a way I am glad we live out in the middle of no where and not in NYC. Now that there's a confirmed case in NYC and the person is likely a commuter, it's reach will be wide. Regardless with how much people travel, I don't think it really matters where you live.

I took DS2 to the pedi today to find out why he gets diaper rash so often and poops like 10 times a day. She was stumped and didn’t think food sensitivities or intolerances, and no intestinal issues since he’s steadily gaining weight. I don’t see how potty training will happen any time soon with this going on.

duskymonkey DD2 is still in a crib. We *might* be moving this summer and decided if we do we will just plop a mattress on the floor then and do it all at once. And I hear ya on the potty training - DD1 was a unicorn and done in 2 days. It’s actually daycare that’s hindering us because they won’t take her consistently throughout the day so I’m waiting for spring break in a few weeks to try some diaper free time training time at home.

It was DD1’s 5th birthday today 🎈 We did a big trip to the aquarium last week as her present but had some small Frozen 2 stuff from 5° Below to open today too. What she really wanted was to go to the local Mexican restaurant and have them sing to her. She loves it when they do that for others and when it was finally her turn tonight she was all smiles.
DD2 keeps telling us that her bday “is coming up soon too”. I refuse to believe my “baby” will have another bday because it seems impossible my firstborn is already five!!!

Happy birthday to your DD1 danvers! Sounds like a really fun celebration! I love that she enjoys getting sung to at a Mexican restaurant. I love Mexican food sooooo much and miss being able to get legit stuff out here.

Whelp - more event cancellations due to COVID-19 over here. My DS1 and his class have had their dance, music, and book parade events cancelled. Charity events also cancelled, but I’m hoping people will still donate, because the causes are so important. No big birthday party for DS1 this year. He’s handling it well - we will have his best friend over for DS1’s favorite (rainbow cake) next weekend. Just keeping everything as low key as possible. I’m worried they’re going to close schools soon, which would really suck. My kids are going to get so bored being cooped up in the house!

I am also trying not to catch covid 19, they just announced another case here and it came from Los Vegas. I give up 🤷🏼♀️ there’s no way to contain this at this point. I am taking precautions but trying not to stress too much. I booked my kids birthday at a gymnastics in May and a night in Great Wolf Lodge in April so hopefully it doesn’t spread too far by then.
Other than planning for a pandemic, life goes on as usual. I off work today and am hanging with DD2, it’s fun to chat with her since her verbals are so much better now, she has turned into a little parrot copying her older sisters way of talking to me. It’s funny.

Lol - I love this so much. This is basically everyone in my country right now - right down to the juice drinking 🤣😂. I identify with it so much. The quarantine rules got changed like 5,000 times today - I basically am not going to leave the country for a while. Things are just too dynamic right now, and I don’t want to end up getting stuck outside/separated from my family. 😩

I was getting asked for advice by a teammate for travel in August to Sri Lanka for tourism and I told them it’s way too dynamic of a situation and could they afford an airline going bankrupt in the middle of their trip or a period of quarantine? Or any other worst case scenario? Will travel insurance cover a cancellation if you book it now? Too many unknowns for me personally.

If he poops and it’s not caught in like 30 seconds he will get a horrible rash. And the more he goes the worse it gets throughout the day until it’s completely raw. I don’t know what to do.

I left work early and surprised DS at the bus and took both boys to the park. DS’s classmate was there so they ran off to find sticks or something while I chased DS2. Then we got chocolate shakes and DS2 dumped it all over himself right as we pulled in the driveway. 🤦🏻♀️

curmudgeon Like was for your early day off and trip to the park/shakes. Bummer about the spill - I could totally see my kids doing that 😩🤣 I have no advice on the diaper rash other than to maybe clean with water every time after he poops and then put aquaphor on every time he has a diaper change? It sounds like his skin needs to heal itself, and maybe having aquaphor as a barrier would help? I dunno though - just a guess. Also - DS2 is now in a youth chair! It’s like all the baby stuff is gone now. Sob. 😭😭

I just got back from grocery shopping and the covid-19 fear is real. Apparently Costco is sold out of toilet paper and people had like 4-5 packs in carts at the grocery store too. I felt like a crazy with my full cart but it’s just to feed my family this week 😂
