Hi all, I'm at work and will probably be in the office tomorrow too. We are changing health plans and I have a lot of employees that need paper copies of forms and to physically hand them in to me. The general manager (owners son) had a baby last weekend so he's been in/available less than he already is. So apparently I am expected to lead but not given any power. I'm being told by the employees that I'm doing a good job but I find it extremely frustrating. He should either be here or tell his father that he cannot and his father should be asking what we need/let us know he's available.
We're pretty stocked up, daycare is closed next week. I'm debating if we should continue to allow MH's 71 year old mother that smokes and has heart disease watch Henry. I know she'll want to but i want to keep her safe. MH lost his dad last July I don't want to see something happen to MIL too.

For me personally laurensc927, If you or your DH could watch H instead of your MIL I would.

Yeah ILs watch DS once a week (pre school closures)but we told them we would not be using them for the foreseeable future. It’s not worth the risk to expose them, especially which Dh and I are still needing to go to the office for work. If we were all isolated, maybe.

Our daycare got restricted to 50 total kids. I pulled the 5.5 year old out to free up a spot for another family but kept the 2 year old in- He’s way to loud for anyone to be able to work from home and watch him. My ILs are working from home and have the 5 year old. My mom thinks she’ll be able to watch the kids again in a week but she’ll still have a lifting restriction from surgery. It’s so stressful but I’m thankful that I have options right now.

My MIL, mom, and dad, were all supposed to come down in a week and a half for DD1's spring break. As of yesterday, none of them are coming. I am relieved. Most of our state is moving to shelter in place anyway.

But you GUYS. I have great news. My mom, whose breast cancer (originally dx about 25 years ago) came back in her spine the summer we were all pregnant, and has been on therapy to keep it in check since then. Her most recent PET scan showed NO cancer activity! She isn't totally in the clear, and never will be, but the doctors never even imagined that it would reverse course. We are all so happy.

Schools officially closed until April 27th. I’m shocked by how well the first week went at home. I have zero confidence that will continue 😂😂

Can't remember when I checked in last, everything is a blur. We're at the social distancing stage here for now. I am working from home 6-noon while DH stays home. He then unfortunately has to go in for the afternoon. Thankful we are both still employed. DD is home from daycare. There are about 20 cases in our area (like a county I guess). I am enjoying my afternoons one on one with DD. We have been doing lots of long walks. It has been amazing weather so that helps! But yes she is also testing boundaries. Please just get dressed in the morning and PJs on at night 🤬 thatgolfb, congrats to your mom! Some good news.

My work is still trying to figure out getting everyone to be able to WFH and H is going to have to go into work next week to figure out plans for the rest of the school year and help with giving breakfasts and lunches to students. He is expecting we might not be back for the year. DS1 is in Pre k and just starting to learn to read so I am going to try and help keep that momentum going. L is still going to his home daycare at the moment and I am trying desperately to purge, organize and clean my house so we can tolerate being in it for the foreseeable. I’m tired lol.

How's everyone coping this week? Any fun activities over the weekend that entertained toddlers for more than ten minutes? We went to secluded beaches both days and played on the beach by ourselves

We are doing okay over here. MH was able to pick up a few more patients and hopefully that continues. I was supposed to be on PTO all week for Ds1’s spring break but I’m going to pick up shifts on Thursday and Friday and work from home whenever I can. Otherwise the boys are still going to my parents/ILs while we work. I feel bad about it but we have no other option.
We went on a trail walk today and saw a lot of wildlife. There was a pond with geese, ducks, and we even saw a muskrat. It’s only been in the 30s-40s and cloudy but we bundle up every day and head outside to keep our sanity. Ds1 and I have also been doing a lot of baking which is delicious but not so good when I stress eat a lot of it lol.
C’s speech eval was canceled, understandably. But today he said “Hi Geese!” And actually pronounced the “s” sound at the end of geese so that was huge.

We went to secluded beaches both days and played on the beach by ourselves I finally built the new Frozen playhouse that my parents got the girls for Christmas. It is a big hit! But of course it has been pouring today and they haven’t been able to use it. Mostly just bringing out puzzles DD2 hasn’t seen for a while. Having DD1 to entertain the toddler is very helpful, too honestly. They are in DD1’s room listening to Disney music right now lol.
