Good morning! Both my boys were fine with DST. It was ME who was dragging big time yesterday. They really should have us change the clocks on Friday nights so we have two days to "recover" before we go back to work or school. So this week we had the time change, a full moon last night, and Friday the 13th at the end of the week. It will be interesting at school.
I have Friday off since N has a teacher workshop day. I think we will go out and have a day just for us. He really needs it. Sunday night he was talking about how things were different now that we have E. It made me sad to hear him talk that way. I tried to explain that E is a gift. I know N wants a playmate who will be wild and crazy like him but E is just not old enough yet.

Jojo is currently coughing in bed 🤣 but otherwise her cold seemed better today. Anyone else dealing with no naps? It's been driving us crazy. Naps fine at daycare, weekends are a nightmare and she doesn't even go to bed much earlier. We have the same issue. I blame it on us for trying to push the nap later. Normally he goes down between 12-1 and we don't even start till close to 2.

Also, I had a seriously crap day at work. It's like every kid just imploded crazy all day long. One of my students, however, melted down doing a college research project. The mascot for the school she's researching (Rhode Island School of Design) is named Scrotie and is a legit cock and balls. Seriously, Google it, it's hilarious and amazing! We got our NIPT results back and baby is a perfectly healthy boy! So excited, but so nervous after only having girls! What jules said, we always kept things covered just in case.

Sorry I've been a little MIA, we've had a string of bad luck at work lately. Catering Director is out (needed emergency surgery), Banquet Manager has been out since Thursday with the flu, events starting to cancel because of Coronavirus. Somehow I've been tasked with coaching the catering department on how to handle potential cancellations and coordinating cleaning efforts. Um no, I have to process payroll, that's my job. The Food and Beverage Manager is out because today's a holiday but in reality he's never on site and it's ridiculous. My boss who's not supposed to be involved in this stuff asked one of our catering sales staff who was in charge in Catering Director's absence and she said no one, that they are all just trying to work together and figure it out. The answer should have been Ralph (F & B Mgr) but instead of stepping up and checking on them he just breezes in and out. They had 500 people in the building Friday night and were short 6 staff members and he didn't even bother to ask if they needed anything before leaving out the back door. These people need direction and I can't read your mind so at the very least pick up the phone and talk to your staff! Sorry for the vent some 🍪 for making it this far.

Ds got sent home with a fever yesterday. He spiked to 102 MOTN. Dh is with him at urgent care to make sure he doesn’t have the flu. They gave him a pretty adorable mask. I believe he has an ear infection since I got a KP email but haven’t heard from DH yet because he’s probably picking up the antibiotics.

Nothing really going on for me, just regular busy life stuff! Coworker is taking two weeks off to study for an exam and I need to take a morning off during that time on a typically busy day because DH is getting his wisdom teeth out... you know, stuff like that!

If I make it through work this week without having to take a day off for an emergency/sickness it will be the first time in a month.
Our house cleaners are supposed to come tomorrow and then we are having game night on Friday. Saturday I'm going to a craft-for-a-cure thing with a bunch of my knitting buddies and I'm excited.

Plus he’s got 2 2 yr molars breaking through right now. I’m just glad it’s not influenza

Dh is staying home with him again and picking up the Rx. The cough just makes us nervous with all of the corona virus stuff. My ILs are our go to for help watching the sick kids, but it doesn’t seem safe to send him with a cough until we really know how far that has spread.

My H is getting his vasectomy today so I took the day off. I probably could have worked some but I am enjoying the break. I’m looking forward to getting off hormonal birth control once he’s cleared- hopefully it’ll let me shed the last few stubborn pounds that have been hanging on!

How’s everyone doing today? I’m very anxious about everything going on. Our state finally canceled school, but not officially until next Wednesday. I think we might just keep Ds1 home because we very luckily have child care covered.
I still work at the clinic one day a week and it has just been crazy. I’m logging on tonight to answer messages from patients and going in extra this weekend to help out.

I’m trying to not be too panicky. Our schools remain open. However, I have already explained to my administrator that should I be concerned about my boys being in school or daycare I will be pulling them and staying home with them. She was very supportive. We are definitely “social distancing”. We are sticking at home for as much as possible. We were going to go to Sesame Street live next weekend but it’s been postponed.

I'm doing well today, not as stressed out as yesterday. We had our first case on Vancouver island so that is concerning. However it doesn't seem to be spreading too quickly here so I'm hopeful. I think people are finally taking it seriously, but there will always be people who don't care.
We're going to try and stay away from enclosed places with lots of people. The only plan we have this weekend is a birthday party for my cousin's son, but it will hopefully be outside. That helps in my mind. We're good for groceries for a bit so no need to go to the store. We are not homebodies though so it'll be a struggle. We'll be trying for lots of outdoor time.
Also, this is probably the first time since I've had Jojo that I thought this would be way better without a child!!

My kids daycare has committed to staying open as long as they don’t get mandated to close. I’m grateful for that because my H will never be able to work from home and even though my hospital job can technically be done remotely, they have not declared it non-essential. I’m sure my boss would allow it if necessary but I would feel bad for my coworkers if I was the only one at home.
We are set up pretty good as far as supplies, my H bought a little bit more canned goods than we usually keep in stock but nothing crazy, the stores are of course nuts though.

My school district officially closed as well as N’s. I bought a lot of projects and puzzles to keep us from going stir crazy. N is getting work for remote learning. My district is meeting tomorrow to set that up.
We are good for groceries for a majority of the week. I will go out early on Friday and stock up again.
My H works from home 4 days a week anyway. He’s doing 5 days this week and will check with his boss for next week.
My 70+ year old in-laws were insisting on going to the ski mountain. I was like that’s really a bad idea. They totally were ignoring the social distancing. Then we got word the mountain was closing for the season so they are staying home. 🤦🏼♀️

MH is a traveling physical therapy assistant. One of the main facilities he works at has closed their doors to anyone except nursing/hospice staff, so he lost 3 patients today alone. He is afraid that more facilities will follow suit and his home care patients will cancel visits. All of that is completely understandable, but his boss’s response was to use PTO or just take low census (aka not get paid). He only has like 16 hrs of PTO in his bank because they only get 2 weeks a year, earn it gradually, and he took a week off for Christmas. I don’t know what we are going to do. We can not afford for him to just not work.

I’m so sorry pootsen- I hope your H continues to have clients or that his employer comes up with a better contingency plan. Work is insane today with the unknown, we’re all plowing through but I feel for the bedside nurses (and all hands-on caregivers), it’s going to be rough. In non-coronavirus news, my mom had surgery today. She was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. The surgery went great and we won’t have pathology back for a few days but the preliminary is that it didn’t spread. I am so relieved.

Things are pretty crazy up here too in BC. Schools are closed for the rest of the year. Daycares aren't mandated to close yet, but I am assuming some will anyway. My work is trying to have people work from home as much as possible as soon as possible. I just wish we would have got our shit together a week ago, said nobody DO ANYTHING for two weeks and then maybe we could have got back to business. But this waiting and waiting and waiting just means everything will be shut down longer. Thankfully I should be able to keep my job and paycheque, but working from home with a toddler will be pretty awful.

It’s arrived in our town now. A parent at the high school. Daycare has officially shut down so I’m glad we pulled E early.
We’ve been doing ok considering we can’t go far. We’ve set up a specific schedule with both boys especially since I am teaching N. It seems to be helping. We’ll see if I’m saying the same next week.

Hi. Our county is a disaster of cases. It's a mess here. Our county schools are closed indefinitely, so I'm out of work for who knows how long. We pulled the girls from DC for now too. It's been the girls and I alone all week, plus me trying to figure out remote teaching since we still have to do some level of providing instruction. H should be done going into his office in the next day or two then we'll all be home trying not to kill each other.
We are so very fortunate that neither of us are losing our incomes or benefits. It's just our time and energy at home being testing. I realize how very privileged we are in this, so I'm trying not to complain too much.
I do wish Cuomo would just shut NY down already though. Everyday he signs some new EO to try to tighten the belt, but things are still exploding. I know no matter measures are implemented they will still get worse before they get better, but I feel like with 1700+ cases in our state we're not doing enough. It scares me.

Hi, all. We are navigating this new covid normal. My work hasn’t stopped, and we have had to take people away from my department to help with testing. It’s been crazy. H is home with DD1. DD2 is till going to daycare.
Just to give you an idea of how life with DD2 has been, in the bath tonight I told her to stop stomping because it was too big of a splash. She looked me dead in the eye and said “what too much? Dis splashing?” And did it again. 😑

This week sucks. Daycare/PS closed as of Friday. Dh and I have been tag teaming part days of work, which has already strained me trying to get like 6 hours in where I can after a full morning of trying to keep the kids engaged. They are really feeling the effect of being around each other all the time and driving each other nuts. It’s been raining on and off the last week, so that doesn’t help. I started feeling snotty yesterday, and woke up congested even after taking NyQuil last night, so I’m going to try wfh. Dh is setting up a tv as a monitor right now.

I got told to start working form home this week. As of next week we don't have daycare for two weeks. H's work is rotating people in and out on a weekly basis to keep the number of people down. Right now his plan is to go in next week and then be home the week I have month end close/doctors appointments.
I made a 2 week meal plan so I can hopefully stock up on things to have around the house and not have to go back except if we pick up food. We're still planning on trying to help small businesses.
I think I might buy a massage gift card for myself for when this is "over".
