Jojo is currently coughing in bed 🤣 but otherwise her cold seemed better today. Anyone else dealing with no naps? It's been driving us crazy. Naps fine at daycare, weekends are a nightmare and she doesn't even go to bed much earlier.

Sometimes he fights it tooth and nail but eventually falls asleep, sometimes he’ll go right down if he’s gotten a lot of activity or woken up early that day. He likes to keep us on our toes lol.

C threw up randomly on Friday and then again twice yesterday afternoon. He seems fine otherwise- no fever, appetite is still good- and no one else in the household is sick (yet.. knock on wood!). It’s starting to warm up around here and we are so ready for Spring!

He might not sleep longer than an hour but he has no problem going down. I'm hoping that once he does drop his nap he will sleep all night. Fingers crossed.

My N15 DDhas dropped naps on weekends and has been a beast lately around 6. We are tempted to force a car nap sometimes.

Both my kids still nap. The day my N15er drops her nap I'll be very sad.

Also, I had a seriously crap day at work. It's like every kid just imploded crazy all day long. One of my students, however, melted down doing a college research project. The mascot for the school she's researching (Rhode Island School of Design) is named Scrotie and is a legit cock and balls. Seriously, Google it, it's hilarious and amazing!
We got our NIPT results back and baby is a perfectly healthy boy! So excited, but so nervous after only having girls!

Naps fine at daycare, weekends are a nightmare and she doesn't even go to bed much earlier. my 5.5 year old still naps most days - he can skip naps and be relatively okay but I like naps so I usually make him “rest” on weekends and 9/10 he falls asleep. I’ll cry the day I lose naps.

My life changed when N gave up naps at 3.5. It was difficult in the beginning but things were SO MUCH EASIER when he was done sleeping during the day. We were able to go out and do so much more stuff.
May I offer a small suggestion to you those with kids going into kindergarten (particularly all day kinder) next year. Start weaning them off the nap before hand. They will have a much tougher transition if they are not able to get used to being up all day.
But I will die of E gives up his naps at 2.

I had my bestie's two boys for like 20 minutes the other day while waiting for her after her H and mine took off to a basketball game. Her oldest peed right down my leg like two minutes into me being alone with them.

We're sending E to K in the fall, but she's already in all day pre-k. Though they have "quiet time" which she usually naps during. Some days she doesn't but most days she does. Do not all K classes have a quiet time? I student taught in a K class and they had like an hour of time in the afternoon where they laid down and either slept or looked a book silently to themselves.

Not in the school I work at or the school N goes to. I don't know about the laws are in each state so maybe it is different where you are.

She can absolutely do it. She's just much more pleasant in the evenings if she's napped. And it has zero bearing on her night sleep, so, shrug. Maybe I'll work on that this summer when I'm off.

Luckily (?) my N15 doesn’t meet the cutoff so we have another year before K, but she will for sure have dropped them by then. I’m sure the transition is hard, especially if they don’t get that down time. 😢

Guys, I drove by my neighbor's house this morning and saw that they still have their Christmas tree up. Fake of course, but turned on with the lights.

I have been feeling a little weirdly nauseous this weekend too (no, for sure not pregnant), so maybe a weird bug? We just got back from a short weekend at MIL’s. It was a fun little trip, and I am not excited to get back to work this week.

DD1 doesn’t nap anymore, she really had to stop when she started K. Honestly, I don’t miss it. If I want to nap when DD2 naps on the weekend, she will just play or watch something on her tablet. And when they don’t nap, you’re not house bound, which really does make planning things easier. I love that DD2 naps, but having seen the other side, it’s not at all bad!

Ds1’s K has quiet time but it’s only like 30 mins. He has a beach towel for it so I’m assuming they lay on those. He hasn’t napped since he was 3 though.
C adjusted surprisingly well with DST. I actually think it’s harder on us when we fall back in October.
We have someone from birth-3 coming to get him set up for speech therapy. They wanted to just re-eval him and likely wait another 3 months but when I pushed back they finally agreed to move forward.
