penguin I haven't brushed DD hair dry since this thread. She has a million more curls. I've just finger brushed it. The fringe part which is straight I've either clipped back or plaited and clipped to the side. Have you tried anything else for your DD? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've been trying to finger brush it, too, but it's so tangled! I'm still trying to figure it out. I love her curls but didn't realize how clueless I was about curly hair until now!

I know, I'm actually embarrassed at how totally wrong I was. But this is her hair today, 2 naps and 2 sleeps after hair being washed. Only finger combing. Poof

penguin I fully expect to change J's hair routine as she gets older, but finger brushing alone just doesn't work for us. She has long hair curly hair. I use my fingers + a curl refresher spray (pretty much saturating her hair). Then a wet brush to get the major knots. I know brushes are a general no, but it would be disastrous for us at this point. I used to use honest's detangler. It did a good job for a while, and then I had to start playing around with some more serious products. I tried a few kids lines at Target without luck. Now I use Bumble & Bumble curl primer or ouidad botanical boost. Neither makes her hair crunchy.

zimmerframe It looks so good! I'm going to keep trying it with more consistency. I think I'll still need to use the detangler/wet brush, but I'm going to try to do that less, if I can. starrynight Thank you! I did not even know a curl refresher spray existed. Lol. I clearly need help. I'm going to look into those products.
