So I have some questions on hair. But maybe the thread might be good for all your questions too!
DD has very fine hair. It's curly at the back but really straight at the top and her fringe is really straight. It's very bird nesty and very tangly. I only wash her hair once a week even though she is bathed daily. In the mornings do brush her whole head with a tangle teaser, but tend to go quite light on the curls. Throughout the day and before bed I brush the straight parts and kind of twist the curls. So am I not supposed to brush the curls at all? Her is very tangly, the last thing I want is a big huge knot.

Wide toothed comb will be your best friend. Comb her hair after her bath with a little bit of detangler. For curls I recommend to scrunch dry with a thin towel like a dish towel or blow dry on low with a diffuser attached to the end. There is a plethora of amazing products out there for curly hair. I personally stick to creams because I don't like for my curls to get crunchy.

My daughter has the same hair, and so do I. I use the wet brush or a wide tooth comband I use Babo Botanicals smoothing shampoo when I wash her hair. In the morning I spray it with the same brand detangling spray and brush or comb. The top and front stay pretty straight and the back is all ringlety.

+2 for wide tooth comb. Lexi's hair has beautiful, loose curls. Sometimes, I also only wash with conditioner (co-washing). I don't know if that will work for yours though since some of the hair is straight.

Unless anyone is vehemently opposed, I'd like to move this thread to the Fashion & Beauty board. I forgot we are doing that. Ok by me.

The best defense really is a great detangling spray and you may want to just try curly girl method with her. I actually find that I brush thoroughly when wet and then don't touch it again except for finger combing. If you plopped her hair she might get a full curly look from it.

I have very curly hair and NEVER EVER EVER EVER brush it. In the shower it gets finger-combed while I have conditioner in it and that is all. I know kid hair is different though, especially if it is really fine. I'm actually kind of scared to see what my baby's hair will be like. I've never taken care of anyone's hair but mine, and boy hair.

mamascarlett, I suck so hard at plopping! I have to use a long sleeved T-shirt and just tie the arms.

Like, the top should look something like this: A Place to Meet > Entertainment & Special Interests > Fashion & Beauty That's what I do when I get stuck or lost somewhere in tapa.

No, see, something is off. On tapa for the landing page for the Politics forum, there's a link to all the forums, but here, there isn't, which us why I have to breadcrumb my way around:

So, can anyone recommend a good detangler? My DD's hair is exactly the same - straight on top, curly on bottom and very fine, so it tangles/knots super easily. I also wash her hair only once a week, but I have to brush it (I use it a wet brush) daily, which I do with detangling spray. I currently use this one, but I'm sure there are better ones out there.

I use a leave on conditioner for adults I got in the hair salon. So anything more geared towards a child's hair I bet would be better for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
