Does anyone here do cosplay? I'm looking for advice/tips/tricks. I'm going to AwesomeCon in DC on May 1, and really want to go as Cara Dune from The Mandalorian. Usually when I put something together for a con it's something easy and made from existing things, like my go-to Mrs. Frizzle (dress I already own and earrings), or Carmen Sandiego (coat, hat, wig, scarf). I'm a generally crafty person and I've even made costumes/props for community theatre, but nothing in the way of sewing or making armor. (A costumer friend is willing to help me with the sewing parts.) I'd be looking at making armor pieces (not full body, just various parts that attach to fabric) out of EVA foam. Obviously some things I would buy outright, like boots and wig (someone on Etsy already has a temporary tattoo set for her, which rocks), but is this costume doable for a first-timer? Edited to add picture:

It looks like it should be doable since there aren't a ton of pieces. There are lots of reference photos online and I'm sure there are cosplay forums with more detailed info. Joann's sells EVA foam (although may be cheaper elsewhere).
