Oh no curmudgeon ! I wish your uncle a speedy and safe recovery. On the bright side, it does sound like they have him on some pretty good drugs, lol.

Taitai the travel and quarantine stuff is crazy. I totally understand the necessity because healthy population > missed work but the loss of income for some parts of the population could be devastating curmudgeon it’s so hard to watch those we love get older. I hope everything continues to go well for your Uncle.

My grandpa went through that, and I remember it being worrisome at the time. I’ll be sending prayers and positive thoughts for him from my side of the Pacific. 🙏

DD2 has all of the different “Brown Bear Brown Bear” stories of Eric Carle’s memorized word for word and now bedtime is spent with her “reading” to me and then speed singing Baby Shark (with motions) and then saying “ time to go night night now”. It’s a super fast bedtime routine (for now) that melts me into a puddle. It is beyond cute but also I kind of want my stories, songs, and cuddles back too!

August Blooms, Big big hugs. You had so much going on especially the past year. Marriage is hard work and add kids especially babies, makes it that much harder IME. Most nights hubs and I are too tired to even have just a casual conversation. We're here if you need to vent. Also men just think so differently from us and situations that are a big deal for us just doesn't seem so for them and can be so oblivious. Hubs is on a work trip this week and when he left Monday, forgot to tell DS and give him a big hug sending him off to school in the am. DS of course forgot he was going away and when he got home, got super upset which I knew would happen but hubs just brushed it off when I asked him if he told DS in the am before he got on the school bus. Well it was a BIG DEAL for DS and I had to deal with it.

duskymonkey on your DS, my kids teacher said they all develop differently to some degree and as long as its not too bad they just try to work with each one where they are. Are his differences causing him problems with school? If not I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I was thinking about getting counseling for ours and his constant temper tantrums (he’s 6.5 I mean come on!) but he’s an angel at school so 🤷♀️ bootsorhearts1 how are you healing? I hope you're able to move about more. I agree that kids this age developmental varies. I am hoping he will be able to "grow up" more over the summer so he can be ready for G1. Teacher is concerned that despite his exceptional academics, he just cannot follow basic directions and when he goes to G1, he's going to get into trouble due to that so it doesn't matter if he's exceptional but if he ignores directions he's will be in trouble. Anyways he has other behavioral concerns I've observed that worries me and I can see if he doesn't grow out of it or learn to cope, school will be miserable for him in future years.

Hubs was traveling this week for work this week. He was due back a couple hours ago but his flight got delayed. He should be home in about a half hour though. Thank goodness! LOL! Lil fella refused a nap yesterday and when he doesn't nap my days just feel so long without my cup of afternoon tea before DS gets home. Gosh! I also got called on for another project a few days ago and I really really want to work on it but after this week solo parenting the boys, I think I will let it go and decline on Monday. My head is also spinning now trying to figure out what to do with DS for the summer and how to get him activities because he'll be bored out of his mind being home. Lil fella and his naps are what's putting a monkey wrench into being able to do stuff. He's such an obnoxious beast if he doesn't nap. I cannot wait when he's done with naps.

So...I've been finding these guys all over the house. Shudder! Thank goodness it's winter still... DS is currently obsessed with snakes and reptiles now.

Our city is a mess. This weather is crazy-30s to 70s in the same day-and that awful water main break flooding the city. I filled my cup with ice and water (and drank it) before the building put out of order/boil notice signs on the water dispenser so that was fun. I have a mani/pedi scheduled today for the first time in like 6 months. We are taking the boys to Galveston in the cold to get MIL a bday gift and I’m sure they’ll want to go to the beach even tho it’s freezing.
Update on uncle is not the best. Kidney disease, congestive heart failure, almost 100% blockage on both sides of his heart, diabetic, the list goes on. He’s 80. The Dr didn’t want to discharge him for fear he may die at home but he insisted he leave before scheduling a surgery. I think the surgery happens Tuesday.
