Hayyy. I'm here. Just busy with work.
DS's teacher just announced she's leaving the school, and we're so sad. She has a back injury that isn't healing (hello, caring for 14 2yos all day!), so she's stepping down for the time being. Her assistant will stay there, so at least the kids will have someone they know full time. But ugh.

sheilathetank she's 3? Oh friend, I have good news for you. 3 is the worst and it ramps up right before 4, but 4 is definitely easier overall. You are almost there! And you definitely didn't screw things up. I'm the same as you. I love "doing things" with my kids, but I hate pretend play. I don't want to do stupid voices or think up things to say, but I spent 30 minutes coloring with my 4 year old yesterday. Coloring and crafts I can do! And despite my husband being the "play pretend" parent, I'm the favorite. My other trick is that once the baby came, I used the carrier a lot and we went out and did things my older son liked. Like those paint your own pottery places, or the "mommy movie mornings", or children's museums or the library. We'd go out in the morning, and in the afternoon I'd pull a craft off pinterest or the dollar spot or Michaels for us to do so I was always "playing" with him on my terms, things i didn't mind (and lugging baby #2 around like a purse, which is easy in those early days where there's a lot of sleeping - I kept him in preschool 3 days a week so he could be with his friends and I could have days where I could just hang at home with the baby) Ugh baby wearing. DD HATED being worn so I have a huge aversion to it now. I'm planning to just lug the car seat and then we have the Vista for the two of them. DD is small so I hope we can make it work. I got season passes to the local amusement/water park and expect to use it there a lot. DD tends to just walk the fuck away and not tell anyone where she's going so I need to keep her strapped in if I'm going to attempt shit with the two of them.

I think my kid's sleep might finally be back on track, he's done well for the past 3 nights, fingers crossed. And despite my husband teaching him to climb out of the crib, he waited quietly in the crib until someone went and got him. Nap time will be the big test so we'll see. Daycare is closed today fo snow.

If he didn’t just have brain surgery, murder might be warranted 😂 BTW, So glad to hear he is doing so well after surgery in his recovery.

He's been making some questionable decisions and also conveniently forgetting to consult with me. He's lucky I'm basically a saint.

But I would never have taught her to climb out, because do not want a monkey child. Jokes on me though because she's now an accident prone monkey child. 😒 How's YH doing?

My MIL went home today and I am bracing myself for a melt down when I show up for pick up instead of grandma. I haven't been to his daycare for a month.

Does he know you'll be picking him up or does it not matter either way? He knows and he cried about it before he left. He's been doing great but he loves grandma and she's been doing all daycare stuff since she's been here so it'll be an adjustment. It's funny because he's also been saying he wants me to take him to daycare and when I talked to him about picking him up today when he woke up he was fine with it.

I'm just relieved that he seems to be back on track with his sleep.

I just hit 3rd tri today. How the fuck do I have so much time left? I'm already enormous and it's getting harder to do things. I ugly cried yesterday to MH because I was cleaning/organizing the closets in the baby's room and DD's room and I needed to go up to the attic again for the millionth time and the effort involved to do so was so exhausting. Thankfully he stopped what he was doing without a second thought and helped me with a bunch of things and then went out and got me ice cream later. He's been fucking amazing while i've been a whiny cranky pregnant lady.

Hi hi I have a December15(was on the Jan16 BMB though!) And a March18 and a July19.
Has anyone else dealt with a 4 year old food regression?? He is barely eating anything, I worry he's not eating enough.

He is barely eating anything, I worry he's not eating enough. DD started hers at 2.5ish and it's still going. She'll be 4 next month. Some days she'll eat a ton and others she eats next to nothing. I follow her lead. It's also a control thing and it gets worse if I fight it. Remember, unless there are underlying issues, that they'll eat enough over the course of a week to sustain them. Promise.

He is barely eating anything, I worry he's not eating enough. Oh hi. This is my life. Ds is 4.5 and keeps getting more and more picky. He refuses to eat meat (except bacon and occasionally breakfast sausage) and usually won’t touch cooked dinner type foods. We keep offering everything per the doctors instruction and give him Instant Breakfast made with whole milk for a little calorie boost. He basically survives on fruits, raw veggies, and pb&j. So yay for fruits and veggies at least. ETA: He also front loads his calories with breakfast and lunch. Which is kind of normal so I try not to stress out too much when he refuses most of dinner.

We're dealing with separation anxiety at daycare drop off again. He wakes up every morning saying "I don't need to go to daycare today!" and then cries when I have to break it to him that well actually you do... I would feel worse except he also tells me he doesn't want to go home when I pick him up from daycare.

Ugh piratecat, I hate that. DS gets so sad when I have to leave him for anything, and it makes me feel awful. But I know he's always in good hands and will have a good time at school/with Grandma/etc. It does tug at the heartstrings.

DD constantly asks if it's a "home day" and I have to tell her no, we have school/work. Then the whining starts. But god forbid she gets picked up at her regular time and she has to leave in the middle of an activity. You seriously can't win.

On the other end of the food spectrum is Dd. It’s her 3rd birthday today and she requested sushi for lunch. She will try anything in front of her and has developed fancy little tastebuds. They just balance each other out in all aspects of life 😂
