So He has decided he is afraid of his bedroom now. He'll go in to get something, but won't play in there or sleep in there. Started last night, he legit started screaming saying he heard something (probably the cats, but like he's used to that so not sure why it was scary last night). He's been sleeping in C's room the last 2 nights, it's the only way to get him in bed. On the one hand, it's not a terrible situation as they will be sharing a room for the first year/two in the new house (they will be in the basement and I know for a fact they won't be comfortable by themselves right away, so we are putting them together until they get bigger). So it's good practice/getting them used to sharing. BUT our current bedrooms are not cut out to double up, his bed is pushed up against C's dresser, so to make it work is a lot of hauling the bed in and out and very little room to move. Plus any time we have a viewing we will need to put the beds back in their proper rooms and make everything look normal and not cluttered. So a pain. I never dealt with anything like this with C. The worst he had was a nightmare and we just got him a dreamcatcher and problem solved. Or he'd have an off night (after hearing a spooky story or seeing something or whatever) but he fine the next day. So I'm kind of at a loss here. Oh he's also insisting I leave the hallway light on so it isn't dark!! So yeah, this is like full on scared and I have no idea why or what to do about it.

I’m sorry danib. I’m dealing with something similar with J so I’m not too much help. Would a nightlight help any? J has one and it seems to make a difference.

danib Will he tell you what it is exactly that he's scared or afraid of in his room? Maybe you can have monster spray or look in the closet, under the bed, etc every night.

The first night he said he heard something. Myself and C (because he came running with the scream) did this big exaggerated search showing there was nothing there. Now he just keeps saying he's scared of his room. Idonno. It's weird.

M woke me up at 2 because she was going to be sick. She puked from 2-4. I gave her zofran after the 3rd puke but it took a bit to kick in. She’s been off her reflux meds since the middle of December so I thought we were in the clear.
Anyway, H was coughing all night and MH (who doesn’t know how to be quiet when he comes home) stayed out late watching the game. Therefore, I barely slept.
Hopefully M will let me take a nap later.

I'm annoyed. MH doesn't have Monday off, so I'll be with kids again. You know what day he does have off that no else does? Presidents day. WTF?

Omfg I'd be so mad/jealous. My poor baby has a rash on her cheeks and upper lip - a reaction to one of the immunizations she got on Monday. So the good news is it should clear up on it's own but the bad news is I have no clue when.

They are making us do Valentine’s? It’s a homework assignment that we work on helping cut out the labels with their class names and a shape and on the Thursday before Valentine’s Day, they will “Mail” the letters!
Off to find some train Valentine’s!?!

Like do you just do the cards or are you going to attach apple sauce and say something silly like you're "awesomesauce!" I don't know how "big" the other parents will go!

We've legit only ever given a generic type valentine with a sticker or something similar. Some people will go overboard but I don't worry myself over that.

DH went back to work today. I have to get the oil changed tomorrow. He won't be back till next month! L and I took him all the way to North Station on the Commuter Rail. L loved it! The conductor punched a fake ticked I printed for him and every time he came by us, L would say, "there's the conductor punching tickets!" There are no tickets anymore! It's mostly on an app! LOL It was cheaper than Amtrak though. Also, Just did my first Scholastic club book order through L's pre-k and asked the teacher about Black History Month. They don't do anything and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the plus, I'm not fixing potential mistakes but completely ignoring it rubs me wrong too. I don't know. Speaking of, I know some of you are church goers. I've really stepped in it this time! LOL 2 Sundays ago, they went over diversity in the church, and next month, they are going talk through with congregants about human sexuality. First the fact that they were doing this in black history month, kind of rubbed me the wrong way but my pastors are at some mid-winter retreat and there are several workshops on this topic. NH is a super white state, especially our little corner, but I've been noticing more and more black people in our area. They asked for feedback, and so I gave it to them. I'm afraid of becoming their resident social justice person, or racial peacemaker. As a mixed person, I have a lot more privilege than my sister. I know this! But in this state, I'm terrified of tanning. I would look hispanic and this is a very Trump friendly area (I know he won our town), and there are confederate flags on trucks, and 2nd amendment stickers everywhere. So anyways, I've mentioned some ways our church multi-ethnic friendly. We have 1 African American, and a lot of things he says gets brushed off because "the congregation wouldn't like it!" I asked, how would anyone feel if every suggestion they made was brushed off like that? I now have a meeting with them next week! I was supposed to hit send last night!?!

Cheshie6 I don't think you stepped in it. These conversations are important to have, especially within a congregation that is resistant. I shouldn't be all on your shoulders to educate the WASPs, but, I hope your voice helps to elevate some of these issues and things get better. Speak your truth.
