Happy New Year! Add me to the over cold and flu season. As soon as my kids got healthy, I got sick! Sigh.
Hope everyone is doing well and getting back into the post-holiday swing of things!

Happy New Year!
DD is getting big and eating everything savory. She still doesn’t like fruit or anything cold, but we’re still working on that. She still doesn’t have any teeth. She is a pro at Downward Dog and rocking back and forth on the hands and knees. No crawling yet. She hasn’t said any words either, but babbles a ton! I ask her everyday if she can say Mama or Dada, and she just looks at me and smiles! She’s so cute.

J has one tooth! He's babbling "babababa" and is trying really really hard to crawl but still isn't quite there. His brown hair is lightening up and it makes me sad (Wanted to do HP and Ron for 1st bday pics or Halloween lol) L has no teeth, and is an "ahhhhhhhhhhhh" babbler. He has no interest in crawling because he's chill and content being cuddled.
J's perma cold is still here. The boys 9 month appt was pushed back to this coming Monday. I sent the boys to daycare 4/5 days this week off and spent the week with DD. We attempted to potty train, she's not ready after all, but it was awesome having the 1-1 time with her.
I go back to work on Monday after two glorious weeks off with no morning rush to get out the door.

Happy new year! We’re all healthy here (for today) and I think we avoided passing the flu around.
N is crawling and gets in to everything. I don’t remember DD1 being this feisty. She’s still not really interested in eating much. Sometimes she’ll eat a whole piece of toast and others she picks it up and throws it straight to the ground. We’ve fully entered into “must be touching mom” phase. I play a game where I move to the opposite side of the room and she crawls over and attacks me and just laughs the whole way. I love/hate the separation anxiety.
If I could guarantee all babies be as happy and easy, I’d have at least 3 more. But I told H today if he wants the 3rd, we need to make our RE appointment this month 😳 I’m so not ready.

Happy New Year! We have all been sick too. I don’t think we have had many days without someone being sick since Halloween. C has had it the worst and I feel so bad for the little guy.
He is crawling and cruising and can stand for a couple seconds on his own but doesn’t like to because he would rather be moving than standing still. He loves food and is a big boy. He has a much easier temperament than his sister. He is a total mama’s boy. He says mama, but I think it just means he wants something based on context. He does a lot of other babbling too. He gets into everything. DD has started playing with him more rather than just trying to keep him away from her stuff and it’s so cute.
I hope everyone’s families get healthy.

Hey everyone! Happy New Year.
Twins are doing great, we just passed the 10 month mark. Both are crawling and pulling up and getting into everything. We have a few baby proof zones in our house or else I'd go insane because it's hard to even go to the bathroom! Haha. One guy alllmost has a tooth. He's been working on it for ages and gets so grumpy. I hope it pops soon.
I am sad the holidays are over. But now we see looking forward to Disney in April. The year mark is around the corner and I'm starting to taper my pumps as well. For now I'm just dropping the after work pump when I am home alone with all three kids. It's just impossible. I definitely want to wean by the time we go on vacation and I want to take it slowly.
Has anyone given their kids BM or formula in sippys yet? They take water ok in them (just an oz or two), but we haven't offered anything but water yet.

Has anyone's baby had ear tubes? Poor DS has his 4th ear infection since October, so the pedi sent a referral for the ENT. He's almost certain DS will need tubes. Tell me everything!

grover, is it for something specific? You don't have to share unless you want to. One of my twins is always ahead of the other by a week or two with every milestone. It's hard not to compare them to each other. There is such a huge range for milestones.

Pretty much everyone in my house has a cold except me. Twins were up at 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6:30. They were alternating times. We try not to wake both when one wakes anymore, because we're trying to teach them to sleep longer. Send coffee.
My poor H said he barely slept, I have an easier time with falling back asleep than he does.

I'll be glad when it's done, this has been the worst one so far. It was so obvious yesterday that he was in pain which breaks my heart.

I just happened to come across this article on FB for the twin group I'm in. It details one mom's experience and what to expect: www.twiniversity.com/2019/10/what-to-expect-with-ear-tubes-surgery-for-kids/

@ges072115 my son who is 3.5 has had ear tubes twice now. Everyone else I ever talked said ear tubes solved everything rarely an infection after that. My son still had recurrent ear infections that were never resolved with just the antibiotics drops with the 1st tubes and eventually they were pushed out during infections last winter. We just had his second tubes placed with adenoids taken out as well December 9th because he had multiple new infections this fall.
So far he seems much improved now. It seems like most of his life he had constant runny nose in fall winter spring. Every cold turned into an infection after a week or so. In the last month he finally seems more normal no constant runny nose. He hasnt had a bad cold yet, so jury is really still out, but mid winter no cold for month...that's a big change for him.
As far as the tube surgery..its quick. The first surgery he had 2 years ago he was maybe in the OR 10 or 15 minutes. He woke up quickly had a popsicle and we got antibotic ear drops to use 2 a day for the next week and left. He was fine that day. If you have any other questions pm me obviously I have experience. lol

Eames, shesellscshells, It's weird, as a special education teacher, I knew it was possibly coming. EI is great, and even better since it's free since we're in the poor house right now. I even brought it up to H this past weekend that it was a possibility that the pediatrician would refer one or both boys. At the same time, I know every baby reaches milestones at different rates and that not all babies land up crawling, so I guess I was kinda hoping it wouldn't be needed? I dunno. Anyways, neither boy is crawling at all yet. J is attempting, L not at all. L is the primary one being referred for low muscle tone- he makes no attempts to sit up independently either, though he will sit up if I put him in between my legs/on my lap. Just not on the floor by himself. Doc said since I already have them coming out for him, minds well get J assessed too on the possibility that he qualifies as well.

J almost ended up with tubes, but then he passed the last hearing check at the appointment where the ENT was going to schedule the surgery. From my research back then, it is a relatively simple procedure and common. I don't have tubes myself, but I was a baby with a ton of ear infections- but since tubes weren't common back then, as soon as I was in preschool they took out my tonsils and adenoids. My mom still to this day thinks it was awesome, I didn't have another ear infection til I was almost 30.

Has anyone transitioned to doing baths in the regular tub now? I keep debating if I should.

Hugs grover. I hope you get more information from the assessment. bex15 We are currently doing baths in an inflatable duck tub (that sits in the bathtub), but my nonslip mats for the tub just arrived so tonight she gets to sit in the big tub. They came just in time. Last night she was sitting in the duck and spied the soap bottle and made a dive for it. This one is going to be a handful, I think.

Hugs grover, I hope you're able to find some reassurances at the assessment. bex15, we just got rid of the baby tub - he was getting too long. He's doing fine sitting in the regular tub. He tried to face plant into the water the other day but I'm right there to catch him. I don't use a lot of water.

bex15 I have had N in the regular tub for almost 2 months now. She Only gets about an inch of water in the tub so I dont worry about her falling too much. I stay right there and she is only in about 5ish minutes while I wash her up. She pulls up to standing now, so she does get a little precarious sometimes, but she loves the bath and splashes like crazy the whole time it's very cute.

Big hugs grover! I hope the assessment goes well. We’re still in the baby tub bex15, but we’ve taken all of the newborn/sitting support stuff out of it (so it’s just the “big” tub). We need to get a mat for the tub so we can switch her over at some point though.

Hi everyone!
I’m still getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. Mh was out of town last week for a few days and I hit new levels of tired. I really need dd to sleep longer.
I’ve started doing more of the table foods with her. I’m still nervous every time. I have an ear check up for her tomorrow from an infection she had right before Christmas.
Other than that everything is going well. I feel like it’s the sweet spot because she’s just so much fun. Plus since she’s our last I think I’m taking it in more. Or maybe it’s the Zoloft helping with that!

Anyone primarily bottle feed, and if so, how are you transitioning to sippy cups and whole milk at age 1 (if you do milk)?
Mine are still taking three 5 oz BM bottles each to daycare, but I might start sending one sippy for their 3 PM "snack" bottle. They get a water sippy with meals, but maybe only drink 1 oz max.
Also, how many oz of BM or formula are your kids still taking? We're still hovering around 27-28 oz per day each. They do like food, but I feel like my daughter was eating more at meals by now (of course, she had lots of teeth, they only just got their bottoms).

I’m trying to dial back the formula amount but his daycare provider seemed to think this morning (when I sent in less bottle & more food), that I didn’t provide enough. He does ok with mashed up foods or small bites off of a spoon/fork, but hasn’t really gotten the hang of putting food in his mouth on his own.

Eames M is still taking around 25oz or so if formula and 2-3 jars of purée a day with a very minimal amount of table food in there. He’s not into a sippy cup really yet and I’m getting very nervous about the transition.
