I’m here! Hoping we see some more faces arriving around here 😊
Weeks/Due Date - 10w3d. EDD July 26
Symptoms - so much nausea. So so much. The dr gave me a $$ medicine to try and it seems to mostly work thank goodness. That has been the worst this time around. Tried zofran and then had major constipation. Just can’t seem to win 🤣
Rants/Raves/Vents - I’m super cautious about telling people but also have had to because super sick and ‘showing’ so early this time around (I have a 4yo DD). But my DD is BEYOND excited. This baby was a major shock as I THOUGHT there was an IUD in there. Her excitement is making me more excited.
Milestones/Appointments - had an appointment at 9 weeks. Pretty uneventful. Will go back end of January.
GTKY: What were your NYE plans? Any New Year’s Day plans? Resolutions? We definitely stayed in and were asleep well before midnight 🤣🤣 The only resolution I have so far is to keep it together. The last few months have been a bit of a mess so I’m just ready for things to calm down!

Weeks/Due Date - 9 weeks / Aug 6
Symptoms - nausea which is worst in the evening, endless fatigue, bloating. Although I pretty much have not stopped eating over the past 2 weeks, so it could also be that.
Rants/Raves/Vents - We told our immediate families at Christmas and I am amazed that no one let it slip to all the extended family we saw at various parties over the past week. Also thankfully I’ve been off work since 12/19, so I’ve been able to wear leggings mostly which has been wonderful. Back to work and real pants on Monday and I’m a little nervous.
Milestones/Appointments - I had an ultrasound on 12/19, and all looked good. I have my OB intake Friday, after which I need to get bloodwork done with check my thyroid levels after they increased my dosage when I found out I was pg.
GTKY: What were your NYE plans? Any New Year’s Day plans? Resolutions? My parents came to visit yesterday and our NYE plans consisted of installing a fan in our living room. My mom and I went to bed early, but my dad and H must have stayed up til midnight because there were champagne glasses in the sink this morning. Today we plan to install our new kitchen faucet and put together DS’s IKEA kitchen set... so that should take most of the day. I don’t usually do resolutions, but I do want to try to work out at least weekly. I pretty much gave up with DS around 10 weeks because of fatigue, but I really want to keep up with it this time around.

Happy New Year!!
Weeks/Due Date - I'm 5w4d and due on August 29
Symptoms - other than being a bit queasy whenever I get hungry, and feeling a bit bloated, I don't have any strong symptoms yet.
Rants/Raves/Vents - I'm so excited for this baby!!! My kids were little angels this whole holiday season and I'm just so thrilled that we'll have three kids to celebrate with next year. It's so crazy!
Milestones/Appointments - I have my first appointment tomorrow. I'm guessing I'll get a date for a dating ultrasound and a referral to an OB, but I'm not entirely sure how it works here since we recently moved to a new province.
GTKY: What were your NYE plans? Any New Year’s Day plans? Resolutions?
We had a cheese fondue, a galette des rois, and then we went to bed early! We all have mild colds. My parents were here for Christmas and Nye but they left this morning. Today we took down our Christmas tree and we're going to go tobogganing this afternoon.
My resolution is to go for a brisk walk by myself every evening. I walk a lot with the kids but it's too cold for them a lot of the time, so I'm going to force myself to do it every evening regardless of weather. I also want the alone time and I can squeeze it in between dinner and bath time.

bwisco I’m sorry you’re so sick. Why do the good meds always have to be $$$? We’re not ready to tell anyone else yet and I definitely can’t mention anything to DS. He’ll be 2 at the end of Feb and is repeating everything. A walk a day sounds so nice mintyblueair! I’m such a hermit in the winter and it gets dark so early that I never want to go out after I get home from work. I’m thinking once spring hits, I’ll try to walk on my lunch breaks at work and maybe some evenings with DS.

I knew my cousins and aunts would figure it out by Xmas anyway being that I was not drinking and living on water 🤣🤣 I’ve held off telling work as long as possible. But it’s definitely noticeable these days!

I’m not a huge drinker but I usually have a drink at those gatherings. Thankfully MIL offered me a drink at their party. Seems like she may have just forgotten but it worked in my favor haha

Weeks/Due Date - 9W/August 5
Symptoms - 🤢😴 Like, SO tired.
Rants/Raves/Vents - just trying to stay positive. I’m a RPL mom, so it’s tough to not think the worst all the time.
Milestones/Appointments - US Friday with my high risk OB, and I need to get in with my regular OB soon, too.
GTKY: What were your NYE plans? Any New Year’s Day plans? Resolutions? Obviously this is late - but we had a nice NYE with a big group of family at our house with tons of food and drinks (none for me, obviously) and board games. Resolutions are to eat healthier and go for walks.

Welcome sullivan! This first tri is so nerve wrecking. I’m constantly just worried things aren’t right and trying to think no changes means things are fine 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi sullivan! Glad to see someone else joining us here. I was hit hard by symptoms on Sunday. Nausea, food aversions, insomnia, and evening bloating. Last night MH was like, you're starting to show! I was like... 😒. There was a drastic difference between my stomach last night and my stomach this morning lol. I'm waiting to see if I'm being accepted into midwifery care this time around. I'd like to give birth at a birth centre rather than a hospital, but I had to be induced both times previously so I'm not sure if that means I'll likely end up with another induction. The hospitals here put four people to a room and I just cannot with that.

I've never been so thankful for my hospital and their private rooms until I found out not everyone gets those. Also solidarity on the bloating. And it happens so dang fast too. LIke I go to work and BAM bloat.

They put two to a room but chances were you'd be alone, or you could pay for a private room. Here the birth centre discharges people within hours of birth if all goes well, so that sounds preferable to me!

Omg I cannot even imagine 4 people in a room. I hope you don’t have that this time mintyblueair. And dc within hours of birth?! I actually didn’t mind the hospital stay (just over 48 hours with DS). I was ready to go once they were ready to dc, but it was pretty relaxing there for the most part and the food was good and quick. I’m not sure how I’ll feel this time around.

Yeah, it looks like there are no good options in this city! With my first two I had a private room and I spent two nights. It was lovely and so nice to have the help from the nurses. Being discharged within hours sounds crappy but I'd rather go home than share a room, even with one other person. After my second was born I actually felt fantastic, physically speaking, so if I feel like that again I don't think going home would be too terrible. I wish we still lived in our old city, though, and I wouldn't be having this dilemma.

There's actually one other hospital I could deliver at but it's a bit further away... I'm going to call them today and see if they offer private rooms! Fingers crossed.
