CoachTsWife She has 2 kids! I got them towels embroidered with her kids names and abNintendo Switch game. I’m not sure what my DH did to piss her off. Next year her girls are getting giant nerf guns as revenge!

August Blooms Was it one of those Karaoke sets that plugs into the TV (and has words on the screen to follow), or was it like an annoying kids portable one with a loud microphone? I love Karaoke, like the real ones...but hard pass to my kids walking around with annoying toy songs and a microphone to amplify their already loud voices 😂

Merry late Christmas! O17 I hope everyone is on the road to recovery....and....we are sick too so far only DS and hubs and hoping it doesn't spread! of course we don't have a W/D and DS had a horrible puking episode for 2 - 3 hours after we arrived at ILs Christmas evening. I of course packed every other meds except for zofran. DS finally fell asleep around 9 and woke up feeling good the next day and was able to keep a few crackers down and a cup of water so much so we decided to go for a walk in the woods. He barely ate the oatmeal I made him and took a nap after. He woke up and started puking again with an elevated temp at which time I decided to call the pedi to call in a prescription for zofran to the nearest pharma. Since I am at the brink of civilization, calls kept failing and no-one could hear me either. Borrowed FILs phone and same BSso I decided to jump onto the patient portal to try sending a message and it took like 45 mins trying to log on due to their speedy internet set-up by which time the clinic was closed. Anyways DS went back to sleep and woke up lethargic this am so I drove out to town to call the pedi and to get some gatorade and popsicles. Pedi was great and actually did call me back yesterday evening but his call went directly through to vm. We talked through DS' symptoms and he said he'd call in the prescription since we're in the middle of no where and nearest hospital was an hour away. So far it's been 24 hours and DS has kept down a few crackers and couple popsicles and water and gatorade but still sleepy and lethargic. Pedi did warn me that with these type of stomach bugs, the puking is sometimes followed with diarrhea He's 5 and let me repeat no WASHING MACHINE! They don't even have a drying rack! I've had to layout DS clothes and hubs and mine ( he puked on us too ) on TV trays next to the fireplace.

BTW your boys are adorable too! I really need to figure out how to go skiing with them soon.

On a happier note. We had such a great time in Chicago. We rode the subway and the L and we just missed the Christmas train runs. NYC never does anything like that. The weather was fab too so we hoofed it everywhere. Taitai we did take the subway to Daley Plaza but opted to walk out above ground since the weather was so nice. The market was crazy packed with long lines to enter the pop up stores and at the food vendors. DS wanted a hot chocolate but since there were so many people, I was afraid he would be bumped with a ceramic mug and that would surely end in tears, maybe next year, he did get a hot chocolate though and both boys got a reindeer marzipan treat! I was super bummed and wanted to lunch at Xoco but it was closed Christmas eve and also with such a short ability to plan, I wasn't able to call around for rez for Christmas eve dinner until the eve. We did get lucky and managed to book a table at Imperial Lamian a few blocks from our hotel. Unbeknownst to us it had great reviews so we basically Farara dinner hahaha. We also had no idea and ordered a dessert which was as big a DS' head and the plate was the size of our table! Hubs took a vid and I'll try to post it with faster internet.

duskymonkey Oh no!!! I’m so sorry that your DS has the pukes! Poor thing, and what terrible timing - considering your housing situation right now. What do your ILs do you wash clothes? Go to a laundromat in town? Hoping that the diarrhea stays away and the bug doesn’t spread - I’m taking it there is only 1 toilet in the house? All the thoughts and prayers to you! 😩

August Blooms duskymonkey Since we’re talking karaoke - I just saw this and thought of you. In Japan, they love karaoke so much that they have little private phone booth type things in the malls. You go in and sing your heart out to get your karaoke fix while shopping 😂🤣 It’s about $1 per minute - kinda pricey!

I’m so glad you enjoyed Chicago! Yes - the Christkindle market can get super busy - especially around lunch/afternoon times. I would try to hit it in the morning (like before 11) when we lived there, before the crowds came in. I’m sure being so close to Christmas didn’t help either! Xoco is awesome - the sandwiches are so yummy! I’ve never been to Imperial Lamain, but it sounds fun! Maybe we’ll check it out when we visit the city this summer. Glad you took a trip to the city with the kids - I bet your DS will remember it as an exciting time!!!

Belated merry Christmas! We had a great Christmas but now DH has the flu or something equally nasty. He has been in bed for like 36 hours and is so miserable. He keeps saying he doesn’t know what to do with him self or why he feels like this or asking me what he can do to get better. It’s not his fault but it’s seriously annoying me on top of solo parenting 3 kids in the post Christmas days. Like dude, it’s a virus, rest and let it run it’s course. And also maybe next year don’t put off getting your flu shot? The rest of us got them the first week they were available and nobody else is sick so 🤷🏽♀️

Taitai It’s a machine but for kids so still annoying. Lol I can’t imagine the need to belt out a song and paying $1 a minute to do so. Japan sounds awesome though, it’s in my top 10 places to visit but $$$ doodlemommy I hope your DH starts feeling better. Parenting 3 little ones over Christmas sounds like a ton of work. How’s the baby doing?

I probably have the same thing as him - body aches for days, runny nose, cough, post nasal drip, sneezing like crazy. But - we’re on vacation and traveling and I’m still taking the kids sledding, into the city for a day trip, and getting them through the airport. Kleenex, Tylenol, hot tea, and non-drowsy antihistamine!!

Oh noooo.... more sickness. It all needs to go away for us. doodlemommy seriously why are all Hs terrible patients. Also power to all the moms! Hubs has been sleeping practically the last 2 days he was sick. I made dinner for everyone the day after my surgery and was back to whatever I could do that weekend eventhough I should’ve been resting and really should have but shit needs to get done and if I don’t do it, no one else will.

Taitai August Blooms Japanese culture is so quirky and super awesome and I totally love them for it. I’m hoping we can go next year. My cousin who’s a diplomat got posted there so we have a place to crash in Tokyo with the kiddos. She probably has a swank pad to boot 😬 We did go to the market around 10 and we though after browsing we could grab lunch and sit at the park to eat but there were so many people with long lines and the kids were getting claustrophobic....country kids...not used to crowds st all 🤣 we ended up at Imperial Lamian due to not being able to find tables anywhere near us at specific times for the kids and I really didn’t want to go to any chains if we could help it. The food was tasty but you’re bound to get better tastier food living in SEA 🤷🏻♀️ Even the dessert was really more of a spectacle and I’ve had much tastier desserts. Kids did like the dumplings and other stuff cos I think they were small pieces they could easily pick up and plus also they love dumplings in general and their Asian genes are strong 😬 anyhow we did enjoy our meal there.

Omg! Guys....I think we’re dealing with norovirus which was what BIL thinks and he’s probably right. DS just crapped his pants and MIL got sick last night 😩 I’m praying so hard FIL, lil fella and I will be spared. I just wiped down the bathroom with Clorox wipes I brought since they don’t have any type of disinfectant. Do you think vinegar will help?

Just checking in! I took the girls to my parents for a few days. My brother and his girlfriend are up from Texas so, along with my parents and grandma, I’ve barely had to parent minus a few “carefuls!” and “no no!”. It’s wonderfully relaxing 😂
I’m hoping tomorrow to visit a friend who had baby #4 two weeks ago. This would be 4 kids 4 and under. I love it for her but no thank you! Looking forward to some baby snuggles though and catching up.

DH went to the medicentre this morning and has a sinus infection and chest infection and they sent him for an X-ray to see if he has pneumonia. Hopefully the antibiotics help quickly and he doesn’t actually have pneumonia too 😬 The dr suggested he take 5-7 days off work but he doesn’t have that much vacation time to burn so hopefully he can take Monday and Tuesday off then go back after the Wednesday holiday on Thursday 🤞

I go back to work tomorrow for a short day. I am torn between relief at getting away from the kids and dread at waking up at 5am.
I went to Michaels today and got a 2020 planner and a pack of laughable #momlife stickers to put all over it. They are ridiculous but included tags for stuff we actually do.

Sending get well vibes. duskymonkey OMG nooooooo 😱 That’s like my nightmare. I’m sorry if my talk about the single bathroom and the virus spreading jinxed you guy. Ugh. All the Lysol and get well wishes to you too. Is it ever possible for your ILs to come visit you guys instead some years? It just seems like it would be easier than going there...with all the hassle you’ve had to deal with the past two visits. Poor you!!!

Whelp, I can’t remember who else here cleans when they are upset at their H...is it August Blooms or duskymonkey ? My H majorly screwed up yesterday and decided it would be okay if he and the kids opened the remainder of our kids Christmas presents (the ones we couldn’t bring to Japan)....WITHOUT ME. I felt exhausted from all the travel, and then he figured it would be okay to FaceTime his parents and start opening presents while I rested in the guest room. What is wrong with men? Or my H specifically? Like - that’s unconscionable, right? I bought and wrapped those presents for our kids! Of course I wanted to be there to see them open them! He still doesn’t truly get why I’m pissed about it. Fortunately, I heard the wrapping paper getting torn and came out to find them opening the presents before they had gotten to all of them....but really? Why would anyone think that’s okay? And then I couldn’t complain too much when I figured out what was going on, because his parents were right there on FaceTime. Grrrrrrr. 😡😡 Either way - our house is a lot more organized/clean now. And I’m not speaking to my H 😬. Not going to be a very happy NYE here 🤷♀️

Oh my goodness Taitai yeah I would be livid. We do stockings at home on Christmas Eve since we stay at my parents house and to Christmas morning there. H went into work early Christmas Eve and my kids had to wait until he got home around 12 to open their stockings. They asked fifty zillion times if they could open them and I said no. I’m sorry

Happy last day of the decade!!
I wanted to pop in and give a little Ev update. Shes doing great, her physical therapist thinks walking is right around the corner... like RIGHT around it. She came for her session on Friday and was genuinely surprised that there were no solo steps.
Shes pulling herself up, controlling her sit, she will crawl if she absolutelyomghas-to. She stands in the bath tub, will try to stand with nothing around her and is getting more confident weight shifting and switching surfaces (like cruising on the sofa but then turning to the coffee table).
As far as words go, we have a handful of animal sounds. Maybe 6 or so names/sound. Ow (cow), at and ow (cat and meow), rar (rawr, for lion), the mystery sound for dog remains 😂 and K for duck. Just the k lol. Lately shes been much more interested in me telling her the names or sounds of animals so thats exciting.
Overall im so proud of how far she has come. Shes being pokey but shes trying!

H got me a 90 minute deep tissue massage for Christmas, but my appt was today. The lady was damn chatty, which is kind of okay because I am too but sometimes you just want to listen to the relaxing music, you know?! Anyway, we were chatting about babies and weight gain: Massage therapist: How old is your toddler? Me: She's 2 (later) Me: I actually lost a lot of weight after giving birth but gained it all while breastfeeding MT: You can't even count that, you just had a baby! I wish many, many good fortunes on your family for saying that 2 years ago was just having a baby lmao

cythe That is great news about E!!! Yay! I’m so happy to hear that she’s making progress, and so excited to hear about her taking her first steps soon. I know you have been through a lot in 2019, and I really hope 2020 brings many many good things to you and your family! Also - awesome that you received a massage from your H. Did you give the masseuse an extra tip for that nice comment? Lol. She sounds like good people. doodlemommy Thank you for making me think that I’m not crazy! H still doesn’t see it as a big deal, which just flabbergasts me. I told him to ask his friends what their wives would do to them if they opened up presents without their mom on Christmas. Especially while the mom was sick and exhausted in the next room with a fever. Sheesh.

Taitai Cleaning and the tidying is among the many things I do when I’m mad a DH. Given how things have been around here the past few months the place should be a lot tidier. I totally would be mad at my DH too if he did the same thing. It’s almost like something doesn’t click in their brain even though they are smart men. doodlemommy Nice to year your DH is on the road to recovery! Pneumonia is rough. cythe That’s great progress for E!
