Also, I'm not baking this year. I want to, but just not sure when I'll get the time really. I bought some pre-made frozen cookies to bake at least. I know I don't have time to bake, and yet here I am thinking "Well I could at least make the mint chip cookies, everyone loves those... but if I make those I can probably also do the peanut butter blossoms..." And then I'm down a rabbit hole. N's party is Saturday, I just have to keep repeating there's no way I can do all that AND his cupcakes and remain sane.

My ILs have asked if they can get N a tablet for Christmas. H and I are on the fence... thoughts? We really don't know.
Also, N has been SUPER clingy lately, especially at nap/bedtime/DC drop off. I've been trying to be better about lingering, since the longer I stay the worse it gets, but he's hard to resist when he throws his arms up and goes "Hug?"

She gets to watch a bit of tv now or look at pictures on our phone that we've taken. She'll get one eventually I'm sure, but not yet. DD was really clingy for a while at daycare drop off and they suggested I make her walk in by herself and take off her coat and shoes and it made such a big difference! I used to carry her in because it's through the parking lot and she's so slow (haha), but she just goes in and gets ready and goes right in to play!

We are getting DS a tablet, but just like we did for DD, we only have it for flights. It’s a special treat when we travel. I think we got DD a leapfrog thing that holds books and she uses a pen to play learning games when she was 2 and she didn’t treat it nice enough then and it’s basically broken, so I would hold off on any “computer” toy for a 2 yo.

I’m so tired. I’ve been sick from the kids for a week, and then had my holiday party Sat night, which didn’t help. I need our house to get healthy! Also our leak repair is dragging out. Found the source Friday but the stucco guy just responded that he can start on Jan 6! I’m so sad that we will not have our house put back together for the holidays.
I don’t know if I’ve come here since last week but I’m excited to go to the bowl game my team was selected for. I splurged since we are going with another couple who the guy went to law school at the other school. So we are sitting nearly 50 yd line!

I just set a reminder for the day our next swim session signup goes live. The admin made a TBD class a level 1 for DS, so hopefully it will work out for me to snag the adjacent class times for January. I’m excited to have a Friday routine again.

There is a puzzle game on there that she can do, and she watches videos there so I can free up the TV for my own shows. we actually just handed DD1's old one down to her and got DD1 a new one, for DD2's bday. Haha. We are big on screen time, though, which I know not everyone is. We haven't had any issues from it, at least with DD1.

I should mention that we have Kids Kindle Fires, which come in a kid proof case with a 2 year warranty. But also neither of the kids have had any issues treating the tablets well. I know that that is entirely kid dependent.

DS1 uses it mostly, I think C is too young to have much interest and operate it on his own. BUT we do set it up for him on long car rides and it’s great.

My DCP just reminded me that her vacation starts on Friday, and I definitely had totally forgotten about that and not planned for it. But I requested the day off and my boss said she would approve it, which is great. I have been desperate for a day to get shit done before we leave on our trip. I will be home with C, but I can wrap gifts and do any last minute stuff, and pack everyone's stuff for our drive on Saturday. And hopefully relax a little bit.

Our daycare is closed next week and the following, but we know they do that every year. There's not really too many days to cover after the days we get off anyway. I'm home with DD this morning, she was a bit off this morning, but seems mostly fine now. I got some chores done at least. It has been a long morning and I'm ready to go into the office when dh gets here to take over haha.

We have a Kindle Fire for DS1 and I was tempted to get one for L too because they kind of fight over it a bit. But he still loses interest quickly so I am waiting. He can use DS1's and we have ipads too. Those are H and mine though so they don't get them often. L has been trying to play on my phone more and more too but he just likes play on a couple of apps.

Since the game was horrible for the whole game after the first possession, it was ok that I got drunk! Ha.

One week until Christmas! What apps do your toddlers play? I'm wondering if there's anything DD might like. She finally stopped asking to watch videos on youtube though, so that's nice, maybe I shouldn't entice her again. And she got bored of Frozen after the first song yesterday, ugh, I tried.

We quickly learned that we were better off just drinking as well.

I went to the game with friends while DH stayed home with DD. I missed her terribly by the time I got back from the whole day away. This time I’m like, later kids! Have fun with Gma and Gpa!!

I have some sort of horrible virus. Started with a sore throat and now my ears are completely plugged up. I actually kind of hope it gets worse so I can get some antibx to clear it up quickly. Ain’t nobody got time to be sick the week before Christmas.

E liked Khan Academy Kids (free and amazing!) and Teach Your Monster To Read (got it free during a special offer but I believe it's a one time cost orherwise, definitely not a monthly charge) she has a bunch of free puzzle games and preschool games. Nothing that isn't educational except some hello Kitty nail salon thing H downloaded for her.

We like the Toca Boca and Duck Duck Moose stuff. I believe the vet game DD loves for travel is Toca Boca. I think it used to be free but then changed to $ so it deleted during our last update before our Nov flight. DD was so sad.

There is a puzzle game that she loves that she just calls "Moo" or "Cow" lol. It has a picture of a cow on it. I will take a look at the name of it later if I remember. She initially would get frustrated when she couldn't do the puzzles herself, but now that she has completed all of them several times, she's gotten the hang of it. When you finish the puzzle, you get to pop balloons, which is her favorite part.

I have been at work since 4:30 AM, but T minus 13 minutes until 1 pm when I can leave. I came in so early because DD1's school dance performance (I think it is a holiday thing?) is at 1:30. I am excited to see it! And also excited to get my nails done afterward. Haha.
