For piratecat. I think you had mentioned sharing good book recommendations more often in your GD book thread. It is a good library week in the Lakes household. 10 out 10. I would get all of these again. It is the second time we’ve checked out Some Bugs. My top two might be I Wonder by KA Holt & Kenard Pak and A Stone Sat Still by Brendan Wenzel. Pak is a favorite of mine and I own most of his books so I’m a little bias. I know you mentioned keeping an eye out for Korean authors/illustrators, you should check out his stuff if you haven’t already. Anyone else find any good kid’s book recently? I have three more requested books waiting to be picked up today.

Piranhas don't eat Bananas was a huge hit. Super silly. Short. And you get to say "bum". DD was rolling with laughter.
I wouldn't buy it, but it was a fun library pick.

We are at the library right now! Here’s a couple we liked from our last visit. Mixed, which was recommended in that last thread, has a good message, especially for multi-racial families.

Adding Pokko and the Drum to the list. The expressions the frogs make crack me up.

I can't remember if it was recommended in that thread (probably), but we checked this one out and it's a hit for all of us. I think I'll get it for Christmas.

I just checked out Birdsong by Julie Flett and loved it. Her artwork is gorgeous. If you’re looking to diversify your kid’s book collection, the back jacket says Julie Flett is a Cree-Metis Canadian author and illustrator who focuses on Canadian First Nations children’s literature. I’m going to see if I can request more of her work. Spoiler: the old lady neighbor passes away We also enjoyed: Winter Bees & Other Poems of the Cold (if poetry is your jam) Ulaq and the Northern Lights How Long is a Whale Apple Cake, a gratitude
