New episode is supposed to be available Wednesday instead of Friday. I think this is because of the release of Rise of Skywalker. Also MH is wondering can the mandalorian be Reys father? Couldn’t that be the reason for the weird timing of episodes?! Are we supposed to watch it before seeing the movie? What possible significance could the Mandalorian have as her father? He's not force sensitive that we know. He wouldn't have left her if she was his daughter. I'm not buying it.

We don’t know if he is force sensitive but could that be why he is such a formidable bounty hunter? Could it be that he doesn’t know he fathered a child? What about the chick from the planet they were on in episode 4 (I think?) They seemed pretty cozy. There is so much possible. Or it can be complete bull. It’s just a theory. It could just be that they didn’t want to release this episode on Friday because they want the viewings/ratings which they won’t get if everyone is seeing Rise of Skywalker.

I've read they scheduled the Mandalorian for Wednesday to give each project its own space, so to speak. I think there's also supposed to be a sneak peak at Rise of Skywalker immediately after. They (Abrams) swear there is no Baby Yoda appearance in Skywalker. I don't think there will be any obvious linkage at this point, unlike the Marvel plan with their shows and the future MCU films, but I'm just guessing.
Early reviews say there's a lot to digest in Skywalker.

I got why the others weren't fond of Mando, but why did the old dude want him dead so badly? Just for leaving the crew way back when? Probably because he killed off all the mercenaries or at least he thinks he did. He could have done some research and realize he fell out of favor with the guild and that pissed him off. We don't know a ton of back story of any of them to really know right now.

Oh, dear. Um, yeah, the episode today. I see why they gave it its own space.

Honestly. If they said they were running it at the end of Skywalker I’d show up at the next show. In reality waiting til next week for the movie.

sheilathetank, I hope you enjoy - I'm trying to set my expectations relatively low, because this movie has so much to accomplish and can't possibly please everyone everywhere. Now, that said - just wanted Ep 7 again and I'm even more wishing it was time for Ep 8. And wishing there was some clue about the timing of the second season. And thinking that poor Jon Favreau must have to watch his every word, even just 'happy holidays' to the neighbors. LOL

Episode 7 was so good! I’m dying for the next episode.
Sadly I won’t get to see rise of Skywalker until a week or two. No babysitter. 👎🏻

You all should see episode 7 before seeing the new Star Wars movie. There is something that is referenced in the movie from the episode.

If you guys are looking for a cute way to introduce your kids to star wars. There are a ton of Lego Star wars specials on Disney+.
They are about 20 minutes a piece and are hilarious. So much shade thrown between all the characters. Great for fans and non fans alike.

Do you want to talk about it? 😬 I loved little "I have spoken" dude 😭 and how dare those foul hands date to pick up baby Yoda. Not ok. Baby Yoda can force choke, heal, and lift. I think he'll be ok. Sucks that Kuiil died. At least we assume he died. But dying means nothing now in SW so who knows!

I was listening to a Lovett or Leave It episode and they were ranting about the tracking device. I have thought about it, like, how is it working? And if they had to put some things on the creatures/people, why not seize them then?
As usual, I don't care for something that I love and IT'S STUPID AND YOURE STUPID FOR ENJOYING IT for something I hate. LOL.
I can't wait for Friday!

But season 2 has been in process for a while now! I admit, I had to read spoilers re Ep 8 to see if Jon Favreau was going to go all HBO on me. I'm still breathing, if that's considered a spoiler.
Settling in to watch it right after I vacuum.

Can I submit a show for an Emmy? I will be horrified if Mandalorian doesn't get any recognition.
This episode....I laughed, I cried. One thing Jon Favreau is a master story teller, IMO. Without being able to appreciate all the nuances of SW lore in this show, I am totally invested in this show and characters.
Per Jon Favreau - season 2 arrives fall 2020.

FALL 2020? I hate the long waits between seasons for these streaming shows. Hmph. Also, until yesterday I didn't realize Jon Favreau was Happy. I was so, so late to the party - first I didn't realize he directed Iron Man 1 and 2, and, IIRC, was the main impetus behind Marvel hiring Robert Downey Jr. That he was Happy didn't really hit me til just recently. Then I learned he directed the live action Lion King and Jungle Book. Then I actually looked at IMDb. No wonder when he asked Disney to not do Baby Yoda merchandise at all until after Ep 1, they were willing to go along with his request for secrecy. I guess to be fair, the whole production team seems really committed to excellence and they've really produced some jewels this season. I'm kind of surprised they got Taika Waititi among others involved. Just juggling cast/staff schedules must be nightmarish, but if anyone has seen how to get that kind of stuff done, it's Favreau and some of his MCU cohorts. But, while I try to understand these delays between seasons, it's not fun waiting. Although Ep 8 set up season two beautifully and I'm so happy Disney moved forward with Season Two months ago. Now I'm just hoping Disney juggles things so that the first Marvel show has its own space to, hopefully, shine in the fall of 2020 (Falcon & Winter Soldier).

Jon Favreau I think was behind the movie Elf. I could be mistake though.
He was also on friends. He was the millionaire Monica dated that wanted to be an ultimate fighter.
He is a talented dude.

He was! He is really talented and versatile. I think similarly of Taika Waititi, who directed Thor and What We Do in the Shadows.

Super Fn late, but I finally caught up last night. The bit with the Stormtrooper Imps on the beginning had me rolling. There were so many fan jokes shoved into that one scene.
It makes me annoyed that people are all cool with The Mandalorian giving a lot to fans but not the TROS.

I told mh that I’d bang the Mandalorian within the first sixty seconds. I guess silent and mysterious is my thing. I thought Pascal did a great job emoting with his body language. Or maybe it was a lack of acting/emoting so you could interpret it however you wanted. Either way, it worked for me.
I loved the vibe, visuals, and music. In fact, I’m currently listening to the soundtrack. I thought it was a good balance between episodic adventure and the overarching story. It reminded me of Firefly. I do agree with the complaint of not seeing enough of good secondary characters. I want more and Fall 2020 is so far away.
I liked the representation and badass female characters. Loved Cara and the Armorer.
I really liked it and it’s one of my fav of the recent Star Wars. It might be a tied with Rogue One.
I will start rewatching tonight because lots of champagne was involved when I watched the first couple episodes.

Maybe without the wit, but the overall space cowboy vibe was there.
