I too have wondered about the bathing situation. Eating didn’t cross my mind but being stinky did. #Priorities.

Episode 3 might be my favorite so far. It was so good.

I just saw that they've been working on Season 2 of Mandalorian for a while now. Did not see when it'll come out. I did see a blip that the Rise of Starwalker will come out the week before the last episode of Mandalorian - some are already saying that's for a specific reason, but who knows!

I hope the show doesn’t ruin the movie because there is 0 chance I can see it the first week. My sister is my usual babysitter and she is leaving for a two week vacation the day after the movie comes out.

marygracerich, I agree. IIRC, the Russos went with a two weekend post-Endgame spoiler timeframe, then it was all bets off. I would think Lucasfilm and Disney would think the same here, assuming these non-official guesses that the release dates are related are even in the ballpark. You know how some internet folks are about reading everything into anything - although the idea that the Mandalorian might have release dates aligned somehow with Skywalker made me go, hmmm..... That said, I had to read up on the time period for the Mandalorian - I had no idea how it connected to the movies.

I didn’t really look it up but that’s what I heard. I don’t know how it could ruin a movie that takes place years later but who knows. I wonder if baby yoda has anything to do with it. 😂

I was thinking of keeping watch for a floating crib during the movie LOL.
That said, supposedly if you keep a very close eye of Mandalorian Ep 3, you see the trash compactor brace thing from A New Hope. And a million other Easter Eggs, all of which went right over my head. In this case, thank goodness for the internet to tell me what I'm not seeing. All I got was that one flying Mandalorian guy reminded me of Iron Man. I'm so mixing Disney properties!
Ooh, what if they have Baby Yoda merchandise for sale at Skywalker theaters (yeah, Rey, you're great - I must get that Baby Yoda plush toy!)

So if you see the episode first and the movie second you may not get the oh fuck factor you would if you saw it in the order it was intended.

Again, I really give Disney credit for working with Favreau on this and not letting the retail side spoil that first episode. I do foresee crashing websites, though... www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2019/11/23/disney-is-about-to-blanket-the-earth-in-baby-yoda-mandalorian-toys-after-holding-back/#14c26baa1166

marygracerich, yes!!! Even without being able to really enjoy all the SW references beyond the most obvious and Easter eggs, I'm so in love with this show and each episode seems to get better somehow. I really only watched because I'd seen the original trilogy and the last two for 'old times' sake' more than anything else. But I think I'm in love with the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, well, goes without saying that Baby Yoda must be protected at all costs. I wonder if Disney had any idea exactly what a break out character this would be for them - they must have had high hopes since this is their lead off original show. Just hoping the Marvel shows are even 75% as good.

marygracerich, me too - I'm keeping watch. I know there was no way they could have warehouses full and still keep the secret, but dang....Disney, I really want to throw money at you!

Really loving the series so far. I keep checking for baby Yoda's for sale. I don't need one or anything, but not being able to get one is kind of making me want it 😂 I won't be surprised if H gets it for me for Christmas.

I’m watching the third episode now. I’m really enjoying it and I would die for baby Yoda obviously but I was distracted by the armor-maker asking the Mandalorian if he had ever taken off his helmet or had it taken off by others, and he said no. They all agreed they would never do that. So uh .... eating? Bathing oneself? I can’t stop thinking about this now while I’m watching. I guess there’s kind of a helmet gap at the bottom you could wedge food up into your mouth or drink with a straw but are they just all matted hair and smelly and gross under there? Ok. This a completely new concept and is confusing the fuck out of me. In Rebels, which was made by Disney, Sabine mentions how the armor is like a second skin. "My armor is like my second skin. I'm being serious: sometimes I totally forget I even have it on and I fall asleep in it." - SABINE WREN But... She took her helmet off. Like a lot. The armor, not really. The helmet, yes, because eating, talking, existing. My only thought is that since the Mandalorians are divided into clans, that clan doesn't take their helmets off while working or in public. Maybe like a religious garment? The Beskar armor was originally fashioned to combat the Jedi and some pieces are hundreds of years old. It is a huge part of their culture and identity. If they were hunted, their armor stripped and melted down, I could see them not wanting to put the remaining armor in harms way. Quoting myself because I was fucking right about the helmet/armor thing! Which leads me to ask if you could take it off If the other person was blindfolded. Which could get pretty kinky/hawt. I'm going to go sit in a corner now.

I just watched all the episodes the last couple of nights. I barely Star Wars so I don't get any of the deeper stuff (I don't know what movie y'all are talking about). But I love the guy and I love Baby Yoda and I live here now I guess. Welcome! Just think of me as your friendly neighborhood Star Wars encyclopedia. Anything you don't know, get, or understand just ask and I will be happy to word vomit star wars knowledge at you.

I love this series if for nothing else it's made new star wars fans and has reunited the fandom.
*Throws more money at Disney*

Does anyone else find the music very....jarring? Are they trying to be 70s-spaghetti-western with it? I'm not sure what they are going for.

They are definitely leaning in hard on the old western theme in both visuals, music and storyline. It was definitely intentional. George Lucas wanted Star Wars to feel like a western in space and the creators of the Mandolorian wanted to use that idea.
