It’s been snowing all day here 😒 at least that makes going to FL this week that much more exciting lol. I’ve decided to go Thurs - Sunday and then I can relax Sunday afternoon, Monday, Tuesday (work), and Wednesday morning before picking them up at the airport on Wednesday. I’m so excited.

We woke up to snow as well. But it’s been sunny since. I don’t mind the snow though. I’m torn. I believe this behavior is really linked to my friends son. He’ll be 3 in February and is just bit wild. She’s perfectly nice and her son is really sweet too. But, he’s a runner. He likes to screech and scream and run wild. A wasn’t like that until we formed a friendship. I still want to hang out with them, but I need to figure out how to have A make his own choices instead of copying the friend. I get that. N has a friend who is similar. Screams at the top of his lungs, climbs tall bookshelves and jumps off, etc. One day of hanging out and N came home and would just screech for no reason. My nanny was horrified so she limited their time together for awhile and N stopped the screeching and now when they hang out he doesn’t come home doing that. I was also horrified and like omg nooo

Damn guys, its been a long week already...
I took M to the dr yesterday because of the constipation issue and her holding it. They sent us to the ER for an X-ray and possible enema. X-ray showed definite stool backed up but no blockage thankfully. They then suited us up in gowns for an enema. Oh man, leave it to my kid to still try and continue to hold it and not go 😬 Of course she waited to start till we got to my in-laws to pick up H (who was fine all day but then had diarrhea again tonite) and then had a massive blowout after I put her to bed. Thankfully she actually had gotten out of her crib 5 mins after putting her in lol. Had to bath her and got her to bed at 10:45. I don’t have high hopes she won’t end up in bed with us which has been the last 3 nights. H was yelling she wanted in our bed the other night too, ugh.
ETA: whoops, this was copy and paste from my other BMB and I wrote it last night so it doesn't make sense about her in our bed, lol. She did NOT end up in our bed and stayed in her crib all night! Hooray

jt2378 , yikes! I’m glad there was no blockage though! Fingers crossed she won’t hold it anymore. I know right?! This was thankfully my first ER trip as a parent so of course it would be this crazy kid, lol. Her doctor's office and the ER doc both called this morning to check on her which is so nice. They are having me continue her on Miralax for now until things are controlled so hopefully she won't be holding it and we can go back to normal..

Oh jt2378 I’m so sorry. That is rough. N in our bed is our life lately, too. Next week when they get back we will start sleep training hardcore and it will be awful but it has to happen. I sent them off to FL today and now I work 12h and then I have to go home and throw all the garbage away and do some laundry and clean up a bit. Then my flight is at 530 omg but at least I can sleep on the flight 🙌🏽 My friend is going to run a half marathon in February in Florida so I think I might make it a girls weekend and go with her. I’ll also stop by my parent’s apt and visit it since I haven’t been able to, yet. It’ll be a nice break. I’m hoping it works out. I’m also so nervous about being away from N for so long this next week even though realistically I know it’s okay, but my stupid anxiety is a little wonky still. I went up on my dose last week so I think it’s helping and kicking in a bit more.

I'm glad the meds are slowly helping. You got this!

Hooray Ugh that sucks. Im sorry for the constipation issues. J has them often. We can feel it in his stomach area now. The doctor has us doing miralax 2x per day for 2 weeks as soon as we start to notice a build up and its helped. Weve only had to do that once thankfully.

OMG my kids are still a sleep shitshow since daylight savings!
And my complete lack of sleep and annoyance with my students who literally cannot follow directions or turn assignments in on time has pushed me over the edge.

And just when I think my kid might straighten out with the sleep antics, she was up and fighting bedtime like a mofo last night, was up until 11:45, YES you read that right, 11:45! WTAF!!! She was screaming like a banshee and just kept hopping out, rinse and repeat for almost 3 hours.

I came across this article and it rings so true. www.closetoclassy.com/2019/07/being-primary-parent-exhausting/On the plus side of my trip, N keeps telling me to go away and he only wants his grandma and DH so I’m like 🤷🏻♀️👍🏼✌🏼😆 On the downside, I’ve had a migraine all day and I forgot to pack my migraine medicine so I am hoping hoping hoping after sleep tonight I feel better.

addymac, I kept reading and ticking off things in my head like “yup so true, yes that’s me, oh look, me again” 😑 Sorry about your meds, I forget how long you are there but if it’s prescription, usually the pharmacy locally will prescribe you a few pills to get by. MH has had to do that when we were out of town. Hope your head feels better.

Most kids are eventually screamers. They get together, one screams and then they all scream ... over nothing. R is such a high screamer and I think it got worse once she started day care. They say at day care that it is her safety mechanism. If a kid takes her toy or does something she doesn’t like, then she screams and they get startled. T yells, but R is ear piercing and awful.
I cleaned up the toys this weekend and I have a pile of crap I need to get rid of in the basement, but I don’t know what to with them.
I suppose I’m the primary parent by default. My work schedule is more flexible, so I drop the kids off/pick up - plus it’s the opposite direction for H. H has gotten much better about waking up earlier on the weekends, but I still get up first. I also make more family decisions about plans and handle our finances.

See for me the issue of being the primary parent is the mental load part. Yes the physical stuff and the flexibility defaulting to me can be annoying at times, but it is what it is because of DHs job. He has no say in his schedule so it doesn’t matter. It’s the mental load of keeping the household running that is exhausting. Even if I tell DH to do xyz it’s annoyibg that I had to tell him because I thought about it and he didn’t. That’s what grinds my gears.

Ugh The very next night she STTN in her own bed till 7:15, lol kids man. We took the front off the crib and first night in the toddler bed setup tonite. She had me sit there rubbing her belly and didn’t go to sleep till almost 9:45. I don’t have high hopes she will stay there all night 😂

My dh is like that too. I complained tonight that our division of labor in the evening is unfair because I am nonstop from 6-11 cooking, cleaning, folding laundry, bathing kids, reading stories, lunch prep, pumping and pump prep, prepping clothes for the kids for tomorrow while he holds the baby sometimes, washes dishes, and puts DS2 to bed but then has a ton of free time. So he gets frustrated and tells me to tell him what to do if I need help but then that's another thing for me to remember to do. And I schedule all the doctors appointments, etc.
