Well I got Zantac for D. I’m still conflicted about it but his reflux (and sleep) just continues to get worse. I hope I’m doing the right thing for him. His first dose didn’t go well and I accidentally got it all over his face. He maybe got half of it... Why are you feeling conflicted?

tgrimes he’s just so young, I feel weird about medicating a 2 month old. I also worry that I’m doing more harm than good by using the medicine. Like in 10 years a study will come out saying babies that got Zantac are at risk for XYZ... I might be the only one that thinks like that...

You don’t want to give him meds he doesn’t need or could affect him in the long run. But if the doctor thinks he does have reflux, this could definitely help. H was only on it for 5 or 6 months. Reflux can be painful too, so just think of it like a pain reliever as well.

Growing helps so much but untreated reflux really can be harmful. Honestly he's been on an obscene amount of medications at various points. It's all about risk benefit and you can only base that off of the information we currently have.

I went to the PTO meeting last night. I felt guilty for missing the first one and figured I should check it out. Only 20 people showed up because of the Astros game. Lol. Anyway, when I got home everyone was walking up to the house from walking the dog and looking at alloween ecorations, as H calls them.
Apparently M rode her bike without training wheels while I was gone so she was so excited to show off her new skill. I guess letting her use our friend's balance bike a few times really paid off. MH said she just got on and took off pedaling.

Today is the first day since before K was born that I'm spending the whole day at home. And I'm alone with both kids. It's going ok but it's taking a lot to figure out this feeding pump which I hate with a passion.
K already has 100 appointments. The pediatrician wants her back every 2 weeks for a weight check and follow up on her reflux. She got the first cast for her club foot yesterday and those are weekly appointments. Home nurse is visiting tomorrow AND I'm trying to squeeze in our photo session. Then we have speech, early on, genetics, neurosurgery, GI surgery follow ups. PLUS her surgery to get the internal distractors out next month.
There's just so much but hopefully things calm down before the holidays.

Busy day today.
Last night one of our account managers asked me to help we wrap up a proposal I knew nothing about, and told me it was due first thing this morning. Here's the really fun part: she wrote the entirely text-based proposal in powerpoint. I got it fixed but my gosh. PowerPoint.
I have stacked meetings and then a Dr. Appt followed by another meeting. Hooray.

How many people that did it last year or still on our board? 8 out of the 12 are still actively posting here but one is on SC more. Plus I don't think cookswithwine did it last year. There's also the Christmas card exchange that more people do.

Not much going on today. J had me up at 5:15 because he was wet and then neither he or I fell back asleep. So I’m pretty tired today.
We have flu shots this afternoon. This is the first year my pedi is letting parents also get one so I’m pretty excited we can knock it out all in one visit.

Hooray. My boss called me a week ago, said he needed to do a powerpoint presentation and asked if I could help him. I told him I haven't used powerpoint since high school. Apparently he didn't care and gave me everything last Wednesday for his presentation on Friday. I had to reteach myself powerpoint because it had been over 20 years & I recently got upgraded to a new microsoft windows so i had to figure out where everything is now. Super fun.

He's excited that she's here and will try to play with her once in a while, but overall not much has changed for him. He's just in his playroom doing letters right now. I asked him to teach K so he'll go over and show her the ABC's. I'm sure it'll be more fun when she's a little older.

Oh man. Today was another crazy day. Home nurse visit then we did "newborn" and family photos. Also a tree guy that H hired to clear some brush showed up right before the nurse came and I had to run outside to move my car out of the way. I was in the middle of getting K dressed from her bath. I am so looking forward to this weekend with no plans. Actually we don't have an appointment until Wednesday. Maybe I can finally get the house cleaned up a bit and put some Halloween decorations up.

kleigh how are you doing? Thinking of you! goldenlove glad you have some quiet time before the appts start! Packed weekend for us coming up we have a fall festival to go to, the pumpkin patch and swim lessons on Sunday. O has been being good at school lately! We have only had to take away YouTube kids 1x. Also D is back to only waking up 1-2x a night after we started the Zantac vs 4-5x he was doing. I haven’t seen all his symptoms go away though, so I’ll keep watching.

Anyone else’s kid talk in their sleep? Dr. Google says it could be sleep apnea or another sleep disorder! L says small but funny things like “no, I don’t want to wake up, stay in bed!” Sure kid it’s 2am, stay in bed. I will too!
I’m down for a Christmas exchange (didn’t participate last year) and all y’all will get the Christmas cards with the cutest cruise photos of L! Just sayin’

I’m having a really hard time giving D his Zantac. He can spit the entire dose out at an alarming speed. It tasted awful so I had a flavor added. But it still doesn’t taste great. I know the blow in the face trick... any other tips?

Hi hi, thanks for thinking of us cookswithwine ! I’m just kind of getting back into things here, catching up. Life’s been a little hectic with the kids in preschool (this is their first time outside of the house and it’s been something to stay on top of laundry, lunches, minor sicknesses, school meetings, etc)...., which also means I’m at work a little more, and it’s our busy season.... but NOTHING compared to what everyone’s been dealing with. So much poop and vomit, sick babies, new babies, etc. I’m hoping to be around more now and catch up with all of you! How is O doing? I see an update on D, but maybe I missed O’s update.
