Hope it's okay if I create a new thread on this. I'll start with a few topics of conversation:
How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime?
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply?
For those breastfeeding, how long does baby usually nurse on each side?
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique?

How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime?
She eats on demand every 2.5 to 3.5 hours during the day and every 2 to 2.5 hours at night.
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply?
I've had low supply with all three babies and we started out directed to supplement anyway with high calorie formula since she was premature. Currently, she nurses and then I pump for about 15 minutes afterwards to get anything she left and boost supply. I then supplement her next feeding with that amount and use formula if she's still hungry. It's grueling, especially pumping in the middle of the night.
For those breastfeeding, how long does baby usually nurse on each side? She usually does ten minutes on each side of actual active feeding and sometimes more of comfort nursing.
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? No! Especially not if she hasn't had a bottle. I try her on my shoulder first and then her in a sitting position leaning over on my hand and patting her back.
Also, does anyone else nursing feel like they are drinking ALL the water and still thirsty. I don't remember it being so bad with my others.

I can’t answer any of the BF related questions since we go straight to formula, but—
re: feeding schedule. She’s all over during the day, and the amount is no longer predictable. At night, she’s pretty consistent at 10-11p and 2-3a, with a wake up at 6/6:30am (bedtime is 6:30/7pm). We feed on demand when she wants it
re: burping. She doesn’t always burp, but it also doesn’t seem to bother her. She’s pretty efficient at doing it herself if we can get to relax (hahaha, relax, yeah right). I do give her gas drops at every feed to help.
With my boys, I would have to bounce them until they got hiccups, they were miserable with the slightest amount of gas

How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime? I feed on demand so anywhere from every 30 minutes to every 2 hours.
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply?
For those breastfeeding, how long does baby usually nurse on each side? Usually 5-10 minutes.
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? Mostly! I either sit her up with one hand supporting her neck from the front while patting her back or I set her with her head resting on my shoulder and pat her back. That one definitely needs a burp cloth. She spits up a lot thanks to my forceful letdown, if I don't stop her from nursing through it. 😒
And no, I barely feel more thirsty or hungry than normal lately, which is different from my others. I have to force myself to drink throughout the day.
ETA: now that I've said I've barely been thirsty, I've been insanely thirsty. Ha maybe I just needed to say it 😉

How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime? Every 1-3 hours during the day (I feed on demand and don’t watch the clock so not 100% sure). At night it’s every 2-4 hours with a random longer stretch sometimes.
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply?
For those breastfeeding, how long does baby usually nurse on each side? I typically only feed one breast during a feeding. I did both the first week or two until my supply was fully in and somewhat regulated. Usually for anywhere from 5-10 min.
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? Usually. Just over the shoulder with patting the back.

How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime? Daytime anywhere from every 1-3 hours. Nighttime he has twice done 2, 4 hour stretches then a 2ish hour one which is nice!!
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply? I have had low supply issues in the past but things seem good this go around so far
For those breastfeeding, how long does baby usually nurse on each side? Usually 10-15 min, occasionally 20 on the first side. Anywhere from 5-15 the second
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? Yes, he is actually pretty gassy so burps and farts a lot. Usually I hold him sitting up with his face supported in one hand. He has a pretty bad lip tie that will be getting clipped so hopefully that helps with the gassiness

doodlemommy I didn't know lip tie could contribute to gassiness. Is it because he's taking more air in because of the tie?

How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime? He eats around every 3-3.5 hours pretty regularly, but will throw in a 5 hour stretch about once a day.
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply? Yup, that’s me. I’m pretty much exclusively pumping except for the odd sad breastfeeding attempt, and supplementing formula. With flat nipples and what I’m thinking is laryngeal malaise (we see a specialist Thursday) I think breastfeeding is off the table for us. I’m really disappointed I won’t have that particular bond with him, I was so looking forward to it. It’s also so much harder to get up, feed, pump, wash pump parts, etc rather than just latch him on and feed, then go back to bed..
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? Just about every feeding! We try the usual sitting up and burp, as well as on the shoulder, but we also do something our lactation consultant told us about called the “baby hula”!in which you kind of hula their Ulee body and hips and that will get him to burp too!

peggyhill, have you tried storing your pump parts in the refrigerator and washing them when you get up for the day? That’s what I do during the day at work and it’s so much easier.

doodlemommy I didn't know lip tie could contribute to gassiness. Is it because he's taking more air in because of the tie? That is my assumption! I know that DS was gassy and spat up a ton and then once he had his lip and tongue ties clipped it was like night and day! That’s just personal experience though 🤷🏽♀️

How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime? Every 2-3 hours-ish, with a longer stretch every now and then. He's about the same at night, too.
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply? Me! This happened to me last time with R, but I was hoping things would be different this time around. Nope. We had the exact same issue. I'm exclusively pumping right now and supplementing with formula. The good thing about this is that MH/others can help with the feeding, since I'm not nursing. The bad part is that I hate pumping, especially in the middle of the night. I also don't produce very much so I go through the whole pumping show for very little output. It's depressing.
With R I was only able to pump for 2 months before I completely dried up, but I also went back to work after 6 weeks and my work schedule is just not conducive to pumping. I had a little stash built up, so I was able to give him 1 bottle of bm per day through the 3rd month. I'm hoping to get that far again with this one. I won't be going back to work so soon, so hopefully it will be a little more productive.
Part of me wants to just give it all up and go straight to formula, but the other part of me is very stubborn. LOL
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? Yes. He's so tiny, so I hold him up with his face supported in my hand and rub his back. He's been doing a good job with that.

@crazy3dogmom, I’m using a hospital pump at the moment, but I was recommended the Spectra pump for home pumping and the Buddha baby for rechargeable/travel pump. Night time feeding now that H is back to work isn’t too bad, I get up and warm 2 bottles, one with my previously pumped breast milk and the other with the supplement formula, then I feed him, get him back to sleep, and pump before going back to bed. aeroplaneoverthesea have the excellent idea to refrigerate the pump parts at night rather than wash them, so once I’m done pumping I just stick the parts in the fridge and go back to bed. Pumping is working out well, with the exception of my weird lazy left boob 🙄 I really hope it’s not drying up...

@crazy3dogmom there is a great Facebook group for EP called "exclusively pumping mamas-education and support". It's very active and helpful.
I love my Spectra S2. I've tried a Medela and Ameda and hospital grade Ameda before and really like the Spectra best.

@crazy3dogmom While I'm not skeeved out by bf, I just don't really have the strong desire to do it that others seem to. For me, one of the most difficult things about pregnancy is the loss of my body autonomy, and bf is an extension of that. I struggle mentally with continuing to not have full control of my body. It is so much more important to me to be able to share the task of feeding with other people and not have it rest solely on my shoulders (or boobs...LOL) after growing and carrying the baby by myself for 10 months. So, I get you. Your feelings about not wanting to bf are valid.
I'm not going to lie, though. Pumping is hard. It's all the tough work of bf without the sweet bonding time with the baby that comes with bf. You really have to be in it, mentally. I started pumping last time with R because I wasn't producing enough bm and I felt like I knew how much he was getting when I pumped (I had been trying to bf only and he was dropping weight) and could supplement with formula accordingly. And it turns out that happened again this time. So I can't really speak to the pressure of only pumping because we do have formula in the mix as well. I'm exclusively pumping in that I am pumping only and not bf, but not exclusively pumping in that he is only eating my pumped bm.
Anyway, I've really been wanting to watch The Good Place, so today I started watching an episode each time I pump. They are a perfect length to watch during a pumping session, and it gives me something to look forward to each time. At night, I'm still trying to figure out the process. MH goes to sleep much later than I do, so he takes care of feeding the baby before he goes to bed then he wakes me up so I can pump. I store the parts in the fridge, and I basically pump every time the baby wakes up to eat. Probably not helpful to you, but he gets formula overnight so I don't have to deal with warming up the bm since I pump after I feed him.
I use a Madela pump, but I'm not invested enough to try out other ones, TBH. This is the one I got free from my insurance.

@crazy3dogmom you don’t have to justify yourself. BF isn’t for everyone. I’ve gone straight to formula with all my kids for multiple reasons.
I know friends who had success EP-ing with the medela PISA and the spectra S2
ETA- One piece of advice for exclusively bottle feeding? Give baby cold and room temp bottles only. Your life will be so much easier when you can just grab a bottle from the fridge and go.

S is 12 days old and breastfed.
How frequently is baby eating? Same or different schedule daytime versus nighttime? -> Every 2-3 hours unless he's napping in a carrier on someone. Then he can go longer. Night is every 2 hours because we put him to sleep in his crib between feedings and he doesn't sleep long there yet.
Anyone else with low supply having to supplement with formula or pumping to boost supply? -> Not officially having any issues but I'm going to start pumping next week to boost my supply because mine went low with #1.
For those breastfeeding, how long does baby usually nurse on each side? -> 7 to 30 minutes. Really varies.
Does baby burp after each feeding? What is your favorite burping technique? -> No. We try but some kids just don't really burp. We're trying a little harder during the day because he has gas. But at night I'm trying to get him back to sleep ASAP.

What is your favorite burping technique? What age is your baby? Mine was eating each 3 hours during daytime and 4-5 hours at night. He always nursed about 15 minutes on the first side active feeding and then some more of comfort nursing on the other one. When the next feeding, I started with the last one. He had a problem with low supply but it appeared after 12 month of bf, so I didn't use formula, but gave full cream cow's milk. The only supplement I always give my son is Vitamin D (you can find info about it on Canada Drags). My son burped only a few month. The best was to get him in vertical position for some two minutes.
