Baby boy slept about 6-7 hours last night between feeding, he’s almost 5 weeks. Usually he wakes me up well before that, around every 3.5 hours to feed at night. Should I be worried? I feel terrible the one time I didn’t set an alarm he doesn’t wake me up 😨 No, enjoy that sleep! My oldest would sleep 6-8 hours a night starting at 2 weeks and it was amazing. Now, she's not a great sleeper...enjoy it while you can, just in case it changes later! He will eat when he needs to 🙂

You have a growth spurt and wonder week combo coming up, so take the sleep now why you can Ugh I forgot about wonder weeks. And that reminded me of the 4 month wakeful 😰

I'm bummed bc I love wonder weeks and used it religiously with DS2 but it says to use due date not birth date so by that reasoning baby J hasn't hit any leaps yet at all since she was a month early. However, she is six weeks Sunday and has definitely been clingier and cluster feeding like crazy. I think I might just plug her birth date into the app and see if her behavior continues to match the leaps.

Easily could be a growth spurt or the 6w fussiness- they have the same signs and are more actual age linked than adjusted age

I have to laugh because we have had multiple people say that DD3 doesn't look like a newborn. She's tiny but I guess there's something about her features? Does anyone else hear this about theirs?

Whenever people ask how baby sleeps... Me: like a baby Some laugh because they know I’m being sarcastic and then some think that means they are sleeping all night lol

And she also has lots of dark hair and big eyes that are always wide open (ahhh the nap fighting 😩). My other ones seemed so much more sleepy at this age.

Zzzzz It makes me scared for what things may look like once we are past the nb stage 😳 With my first, around 12 weeks sleep got better. Then we sleep trained at 4.5mo. At 6 months she became an awesome sleeper. Some hiccups here and there but overall an above average great sleeper. Still is at 28mo. If #2 goes the same way I'll be happy.

Ah, hopefully it goes the same with your second! I have found it interesting that my two best sleepers were awful baby sleepers and my worst sleeper was my "unicorn" baby who began sttn at 2 weeks old. Probably a total coincidence but it does give me hope!

I think it is all outside babies now. Baby had his one week well check on Monday and I was basically ordered by the doctor to stop breastfeeding to go back on stimulants since my narcolepsy symptom of falling asleep and not realizing it are at the worst they have been in years. It makes sense, is the most safe for baby, and I knew this could be a necessary thing but I am more disappointed about this than I expected I would be. It's not like he has been exclusively breastfed (the most I have been able to pump in a 24hr time period was about 5oz) but I just wanted to give him the best start in life that I could. I can completely relate to the feeling. I’m pumping to get DS as much milk as I can, but it’s definitely not his full supply and we rely heavily on formula. I worry constantly about my supply and I’m trying so hard to keep it for the same reasons. Some days I’d just like to quote for my own sanity though. It’s a hard thing to give up, especially since he hasn’t been able to actually breastfeed much. I’m sorry you have to make that decision. Always remember fed is best, even my OB made it a point in telling me that. She said out of her 3 kids, the 2 formula babies were fine and the breastfed baby has asthma. It’s never a guarantee that breastfeeding is 100% going to fix all your problems. You just gotta do the best you can, and sometimes that means formula.

@crazy3dogmom That's so frustrating. I would be disappointed too. I guess there's no stimulant you could take that would be safe breastfeeding if you took it once a day and breastfeed or pumped at the opposite time of day?
I've had low supply with all three babies and it's very frustrating.

@crazy3dogmom Sorry for not being able to breastfeed as you wanted to. Makes sense to ensure you're safe though! Fed is best. Don't let anyone guilt you.

thinkchocolate05 I had low supply with my first and have anxiety over it happening again with #2. But with #1 I was pumping at work and will be nursing at home with #2. So I'm hopeful to produce enough this time.

peggyhill sorry to hear you're having issues with breastfeeding and supply too. Fed baby is best, of course. I went into it knowing millions of babies (myself included) are formula fed and just fine, so it isn't a big deal, just do what I can. Doctor said the first 2 weeks are the most important time and it's good I was able to make it this far so just trying to take comfort in that. thinkchocolate05 as far as I know there isn't one available. I know there are a lot of women who feel the benefits of them taking the medicine and the benefits of breastfeeding outweigh the risks of the drug to baby but I am not that set on breastfeeding to risk the side effects. From my reading Ritalin is recommended over adderall but that's off the table for me as ritalin messed with my heart too much. I put in a call to my neurologist to ask if anything is safe but haven't heard back yet. @crazy3dogmom That makes sense. I would not be comfortable with that either. I even worry about how caffeine will translate through my breast milk.
