grover, how did your pedi diagnose croup? DS has a deep-sounding cough that I'm a little worried about, but no other symptoms (no fever, eating fine, seems happy, slept through the night last night). He's going to the doctor this afternoon just to check, not sure if it's just a cold or something more.

bex15 no personal experience with the band, but I have friends that have gone through this. One got a second opinion and didn't need it. The other did need it, but it was really NBD for baby. Good luck. I wish I had more advice.

We are all at the tail end of a cold here. Thankfully it was short-lived. It is Thanksgiving here so my family is coming to visit. My girls are super excited and driving me nuts waiting on them. It will be nice as we haven't seen them since the summer.

Sorry for the sick kiddos grover and jacks. Yay! I’m glad the bouncy seat worked @ges072115! We bought the Tommee Tippee transition cups bex15. We haven’t actually washed them or started using them yet. They’ve been sitting by the sink for several weeks now...oops! She has taken a few sips of water out of my cup though.

DD still isn’t sitting up yet. I think she has the physical strength to do it, but she just won’t do it. How do I help her??
She slept in her crib for the first time last night! H and I were expecting a horrible night, but she actually slept so well!

orangehibiscus, my boys aren't sitting on their own yet either. They will in time! @ges072115, her only symptoms were fever and barking cough. The other daycare toddler was diagnosed a few days before us, he did not have a fever at all though that the parents noticed. He just took our symptoms, and gave her a physical, but said the cough was the giveaway.

orangehibiscus We’re not siting yet here, but I think the best thing you can do is just have lots of floor time. Sometimes I’ll have her sitting up inside the boppy or in my lap for some support.

orangehibiscus that’s awesome about the crib! I’m really not emotionally ready to move M but will probably push myself to do it within the next few weeks. He’s not sitting up either, his pediatrician said for us to use his bumbo seat more (I never use it now) to help with core strength to help sit independently.

I wouldn’t have thought that a bumbo seat would help build her core strength. We don’t use her bumbo either, but I’ll have to grab it from her nursery! Thanks!

and the boys are both sick. J with the fever and cough, L with just a cough. This blows. I hope the fevers go away so that they can go back to daycare on Wednesday!

MH and I both got hit with a stomach bug last night, it’s awful. Really hoping M doesn’t catch it.

grover Hope they’re on the upswing! bex15 I hope you’re recovering too! Nothing worse than having to parent while sick. Fortunately, my H never gets sick and is good at taking over when I’m sick (I’m a total baby when I’m sick).

Daycare is open again tomorrow, AND all three kids are going! Woot! H stayed home with him today, and messaged me at 4 pm with what was my eta. I had a work meeting that was scheduled til 3:45. I told him I was packing up my stuff to go. He got a pissy like I was taking my sweet time. Guess what buddy, I am on my own with all three kids every other sick day, snow day, school holiday and all of winter and summer breaks for 12 hour days. At least he saw how hard it is to get anything done around the house or work wise with three young kids. DD is pretty good about playing independently or watching a show if we need her to now, but the boys are still a long way from independence.

grover My H works half days on Fridays. And starts texting me around 2 asking when I’m coming home. Drives me insane. He means well, but it’s not like I enjoy being at work when they’re all at home (I dislike my job). I’m not choosing to be there.

Today is my Friday! We are heading out of town tomorrow morning for fall break. Hopefully an uneventful drive to visit family. My mom had surgery to repair a detached retina last week, so our plans have kind of altered a bit. No free babysitting or kid help (😫). We had been hoping to go out to dinner with friends since we never get to visit with our friends during the Christmas insanity.

Well I ended having to put M in his crib two nights ago after he threw up in his pack and play so I guess I’ll keep him there since I knew I would be doing it soon anyway. Sleep hasn’t been great so far but hoping he’ll get comfortable over there before he gets his doc band on 11/1 as I’ve heard there can be an adjustment period with that as well.

Sorry your LO hasn’t been sleeping well in the crib bex15. I hope that gets better soon! DD slept amazing in her crib the first 2 nights. Ever since then she sleeps well until around 3am, and then she fusses/cries. H will change her, but she doesn’t go back to sleep. I’m not sure why she won’t go back to sleep (for longer than 10-15 min). Anyone have any ideas?

orangehibiscus Does she put herself to sleep at bedtime? And how long do you wait before going in? When N was sleep regressing/sick/who knows last week, she was doing the same thing. She’d just stare at you bright-eyed. We had been rocking her a lot since she’d been sick for a month, so it just took a little gentle sleep training to get her back into falling asleep on her own once she was feeling better.

She does put herself to sleep at bedtime. She doesn’t have any issues with that, and she will sleep well until 3am. She’s up again right now and has been off and on for about the last hour. I have no idea what to do! She eats just before bedtime (nurses first and then gets formula), so she’s not hungry. She gets gas drops right before bed. She has on PJs and a sleep bag. Her room temp is set to 72. We have a humidifier going in the whole house and a small one in just her room. She has her pacifier in her mouth when she goes to sleep, but it will either fall out when she’s asleep or she will take it out of her own mouth when she’s fussing/crying. H changed her diaper in the MOTN a couple nights ago, and she was worse after that. She will fall asleep for a few minutes and then “wake up” crying again. Sometimes she’s not awake, but is crying/fussing in her sleep (eyes closed). Sometimes she’s actually awake (eyes open) and crying/fussing. H and I are exhausted, and we don’t know what to do! What am I missing/not thinking to do?

orangehibiscus She’s about 7 months? Both of my kids had a sleep regression just before 6 months. DS just got over something very similar to what you’re describing. It was a phase for him and I hope it’s the same for you!!

It lasted a little over a week with DS. It wasn’t as long as our 4-month regression, but still exhausting!!
