Lots of outside babies now, we should get a postpartum/MOTN thread going. Hope everyone’s doing well!
Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 38weeks/Oct 14
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: had one today and next Monday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink
Milestones: officially 2 weeks left at work! I’ve always worked up until I go into labor, but it just doesn't seem to make sense going back after Columbus Day which is also my EDD. Hopefully this baby isn’t super late.
Symptoms: all.
Rants: I’m fighting off a head cold. Survived both DS and DD being sick 2 weeks ago only to get mine today.
Raves: I *think* we’re as ready as we can get. I just wrote out detailed instructions for my mom just in case she has to do bedtime and get DS on the bus. Put the last toiletries in my hospital bag.
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? With DS in 2013 I think GoT had just started. With DD I marathoned all of Gilmore Girls. This go round I think I’m going to watch Schitt’s Creek.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 39w2d / Full-size Violin / Oct 5 (THIS SATURDAY, WHAT?!)
FTM, Etc: 2TM
Appointments: Friday morning
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Green
Milestones: So close to estimated due date!
Symptoms: Oscillating between extreme hunger and zero appetite, all the Braxton Hicks and cramps and potentially actual contractions every now and then, carpal tunnel in my right (dominant) hand, peeing ALL THE TIME
Rants: As of last night, getting down on the floor or bending down is extremely difficult. Cramps/discomfort getting back up. Super sucks.
Raves:
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? --> Just like with #1, Hulu sent me a "come back for a free month" offer just this week, so I get to watch the latest season of The Handmaid's Tale for free. Whoop.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 2 Weeks 1 day
FTM, Etc: FTM
Appointments:Two week appointment on Thursday
Milestones: Baby boy hit 7 pounds! We were so worried about his weight loss at first, we’re celebrating hard for his weight gains! 💪🏻
Symptoms: Nipples are so sore 😭
Rants: This little guy is throwing us and the lactation consultant through a loop. He hasn’t pooped in 3 days now, which apparently is normal at 6 weeks and beyond, but very unusual at 2 weeks. He’s not vomiting, febrile, refusing meals or sick at all, so the pedi is ok with waiting to see him, but that doesn’t do much for my nerves in the meantime.
Raves: He slept a 5 hour stretch the other night, it was so refreshing!
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? I’ve been binging comedies and my favorite movies ( pride and prejudice, the big Lebowski), and I’ll probably binge the new Dark Crystal series again because DAMN it was good!

marshian my left hand felt tingly today randomly so of course I thought it was having a heart attack but then learned it’s likely carpel tunnel—never had that in pregnancy before! Yay for a last minute new symptom.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 5 days/ EDD is this thursday
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: weight check thursday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): girl. I told the nurse at my induction I was expecting everything to be wrong and there to be a penis, so when she was born, the nurse goes “there’s no penis!” 😂😂
Milestones: She’s here!
Symptoms: holy fuck, my boobs hurt!
Rants:
Raves: This is a mix rant/rave- I’m really glad we induced when we did. My blood work showed that I developed antibodies towards DD’s blood type (not Rh antibodies, but ABO incompatibility, which is supposedly less severe 🤷🏼♀️), and hers confirmed it. There were none at my 28 week CBC panel, so this was a new development
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? nope. I’m sure I’ll find something

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 38w1d/pumpkin/Oct 14 (but induction scheduled for 10/7!)
FTM, Etc: STM
Appointments: yesterday, today, Thursday...oh the joys of being AMA
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): 💙
Milestones: Induction was scheduled! Going in next Monday (right at 39 weeks) to have this kid! (Unless he comes on his own before that). It's also my last week of work. I scheduled this before I knew I would be induced at 39w, so I thought I would still have at least 1 week, probably 2 to relax before baby. LOL no. Last day on Friday, induction on Monday. At least I get the weekend. 😂
Symptoms: Woof...SO heavy. It feels like an anvil in my belly any time I get up after sitting down. I have to stand there and acclimate for a few seconds before I can even take a step.
Rants: Just frustrated trying to get ready to be gone at work. There is literally not enough time to complete my sub plans and also teach my classes. Especially because I have to run to a dr appt literally every day after work. I wish I could just not care, but I have to go back into this classroom after my leave is over, so the more organized I leave the sub, the easier my own life will be after I return. Do not want to walk back into a huge mess.
Raves: Just excited to have a date set for eviction. We go in at night on Mon, which means baby will likely be born on Tues, which is our little dog's "birthday" (he was a rescue, so we don't know his actual birthday, but this is his gotcha day) I love my little dog and I'm excited about this possiblity. We actually considered giving the baby the dog's name as his middle name, so I guess the birthday will work just as well. (The dog's name would actually work so well as a middle name, but we decided to use a family name instead. Non-dog family, I mean.)
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? I don't watch a lot of TV, so I hadn't thought of this. But now that you mention it, there are some shows I'd finally like to see, like Schitt's Creek and the rest of Queer Eye that I didn't finish.

stayingblonde, how exiting to have a date! I’m AMA but it doesn’t sound like there’s any conversation about induction until after my due date. Myself, DH, and both kids have all been born on Tuesdays, maybe it’ll be a lucky uterus day for both of us.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 39/short haired domestic cat (meow)/Oct7
FTM, Etc: 3
Appointments: today! Baby’s HB was 150. She didn’t tell me my belly measurement—shoot. But I’ve got more exciting data—I finally let her check me and I’m 4cm dilated and 60-70% effaced and at a zero station. She said she did a gentle membrane sweep.
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green...not too much longer now.
Milestones: officially term!
Symptoms: BHs, HB, weird twingey thigh cramps, and my left hand seems to have developed carpel tunnel.
Rants: so because I’ve been AMA for 27 days, my OB was like “typically we like to induce our AMAs between 39-40 weeks.” I convinced her to let me go 3 days over to the 10th (hopefully this will be a moot point.) The 10th was chosen only bc she’s on call that day. It’s also my best friend’s and my in-laws anniversary ha. Anyway, I hope I don’t have to be induced for being overdue or any other reason bc I really enjoy that unexpected surprise of going into labor (which is strange because in every other aspect of life I am a huge planner.)
Raves: I made it to October!!!
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? I started re-watching Breaking Bad in anticipation for El Camino.

marshian my left hand felt tingly today randomly so of course I thought it was having a heart attack but then learned it’s likely carpel tunnel—never had that in pregnancy before! Yay for a last minute new symptom. It's so weird! I noticed tingling in my thumb, pointer, and middle finger while laying in bed reading one night and then it kept happening off and on so I googled. Also, my first thought with any weird feeling in my left arm/hand is also heart attack. Thank you, anxiety.

stayingblonde , how exiting to have a date! I’m AMA but it doesn’t sound like there’s any conversation about induction until after my due date. Myself, DH, and both kids have all been born on Tuesdays, maybe it’ll be a lucky uterus day for both of us. This made me realize that R was born on a Tuesday and so was I...and this guy probably will be too! I very excitedly googled MH's birthday, but he was born on a Friday. Womp womp.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 2 days old!
FTM, Etc: #4
Appointments: Mine, 6 weeks. Hers, we will figure out before we are discharged. The Dr wanted to wait to see how her weight looks before telling us when to bring her in.
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Definitely pink!
Milestones: She was born.
Symptoms:
Rants: Dude. I am SO sore, everywhere. I finally broke down and took some more pain meds because I'm so stiff everywhere. Fighting those contractions was perhaps not the best idea but I don't think I could have helped it, either.
Raves: We get to go home! Hopefully this morning. & My milk has come in already!
GTKY any planned binging for maternity leave? Well, I went on maternity leave 8 years ago...haha it will be business as usual starting Monday. Gulp. I would like to catch up on Grey's Anatomy while MH is home, however.
