It's almost time for all the scarves, hats, and mittens! What are you currently creating?

I've got the body stripes started, nixed the faux side seams, and I'll steek the front and make it a cardigan in the end. Other wise, I've started a shawl for my older sister and need to do 2 more.

firefly , those colors are beautiful!! 😍 Thank you!! The green is a single ply green from Fleabubs & Lala and the dark pink is a silk/merino blend from Acid Veil. I got the green last year and then the pink this year and I had to make it into the Felicitas Sweater. I am so in love with this silk blend!

This is the first year in a long time that I'm not knitting anything as a Christmas gift. It's weird, but I like the break because I've been able to get a lot of reading done.

Nugget picked out this nap mat kit from Joann’s and I figured it would be an easy sew and I had a coupon so I got it for her. Well, it was much more work than I expected, and required a trip back to get the batting and stuffing it needed, as well as some extra fabric to make a backing for the super thin blanket part, but it’s done and turned out super cute! Note to self, don’t stuff a pillow and then try to sew it to something...

I'm going to make bathrobes for my kids and my nieces and nephews (6 kids total). Joann has blizzard fleece onsale for 2.99/yd and also has and additional 20% off coupon. I saved more than twice what I spent today. I cant wait to get home and start sewing them.

Thanks bobyn. Dd2 saw the bolt of unicorn fabric and immediately said "I want that one!" I lied to her and told her it was for someone else. Of course out of the 6 loads of stuff I brought in from outside, that is the only one she was at the door for.

Im starting to work on the robes. I can only work on the boy ones right now since my girls are home, and am using my kids to see how the sizes fit. Dd2 was not impressed and said "I dont want space clothes" when I made her try on my nephews. I'll slowly work on the girl ones when they are in school.

I hate that I don’t have time to craft in the summertime. But I started my fall/winter “sewing season” yesterday! I made these for the boys yesterday. Fabric is doodles from Joann’s. It’s so much thicker than the last time I bought doodles! More doodles for this one too. I still need to add the hood. Hood will be mummy on the outside with eyes on the inside. I don’t like the pocket on this pattern and I’m planning to fix that for the next one. It’s also my first time using a double needle so that was fun. All of these are glow in the dark. The eyes on the mummy and eyes fabric glow and the skeletons on the other shirt glow too. The kids went to the bathroom and closed the door to make sure they still glowed this morning. 😂😂 Up next is Halloween costumes then I have a couple of newborn projects planned as a gift for my neighbor and a pair of butt flap pjs for my cousin’s kid planned as well. Those need to be done before Christmas, preferably end of November. Also need to make Christmas pjs for the boys and I am going to make infinity scarves with a hidden pocket in them for my mom, MIL, and my brother’s gf. Oh and I have a crazy idea of making outfits for the boys for Christmas theme family pics so that will go in the end of November deadline too so we can get pics and order cards.

Pistol those are badass! I wanna learn to sew. Lol 😝 If you have a machine and really want to learn, I can try to answer any questions you have and I can recommend some easy beginner patterns. The raglan shirts I made them yesterday is a really good beginner pattern.

The raglan shirts I made them yesterday is a really good beginner pattern. I do not have one. I need advice on beginner machines and patterns! Lol I have no idea where to start! Brother is a good beginner/entry brand. I would go for one of these. Brother Project Runway CS5055PRW Electric Sewing Machine - 50 Built-In Stitches - Automatic Threading www.amazon.com/dp/B005GXPOCK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_agOPDbCZRJ1JZTo sew knits (stretchy fabric) you will need a stretch stitch or zigzag. Any woven fabric (no stretch) can be done with a basic straight stitch. For a pattern I would start with a basic raglan. Peekaboopatternshop.com has one that is called the grand slam. All of her patterns have really good clear directions and pictures for each step. The hoodies I did were a pattern from Ellie and Mac and it had really good directions but that’s the only one of their patterns I’ve tried. Both companies have Facebook groups and I know peekaboo community is really good with answering questions if you have any.

Pistol, you are so talented! I love those! Thanks. I really think it’s just that the patterns have really good directions. I’ve been sewing for 5 or 6 years now and I’m just now starting to get comfortable with trying some things like color blocking when it’s not included in the pattern.

DD loves hoodies and I want to make her some.

The peekaboopatternshop.com grand slam has a hood option. You can make it in a regular shirt, tunic, and I think dress length. It also has short, 3/4, and long sleeve options. It’s a raglan sleeve but the raglan is what makes it so easy. And really, I find hoods easier than neck bands if I’m really honest.
