Hello! Quick question for all you masters of makeup here...
I’m looking for a new brush for mineral powder foundation. I’ve used Bare Minerals for a long time and recently switch to Alima Pure, which seems to working just as well for me. I’ve always used the Bare Minerals Full Flawless Face Brush because that’s what came with the starter set. I really like the coverage I get with it (even with the new foundation), but it doesn’t seem to hold up all that well even with regular brush cleaning (breakage, feels rough on my face after a few uses after cleaning, middle bristles seem to get smashed/matted quickly). I use a buffing motion as opposed to a gentle sweeping motion, so maybe that contributes to the breakage? Idk, I’m not being super aggressive, but I find that it blends and stays better with a bit more firm buffing motion.
Sephora was out of the #55 Pro Airbrush which the associate initially recommended, so I bought the Sephora Makeup Match Full Coverage Foundation Brush which was her second choice, but I don’t love it. I feel like I use the same amount of powder but somehow there’s hardly any on my face. Like very minimal/sheer coverage, which I do not want. It was very affordable ($18 I think), but I don’t mind spending more for something that works well. Any recommendations?
This didn’t end up being all that quick of a question. Tl;dr - I need a new full coverage powder foundation brush.
Thanks agm04 and zerozeroone. I ended up getting a Sephora Collection brush set and using the buffing brush. It seems to be working out ok but joe I have a brush cleaner question... so to the Sephora thread I go.
