Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 8 days old
FTM, Etc: FTM
Appointments: Had lactation consultant today, next week we have our 2 week pedi appt
Milestones: Had our newborn photos done today! I think we got a lot of great ones, I can’t wait to get them from the photographer!
Rants: My dad and his wife are in town, and I do love seeing them very much, but my step mom is deathly afraid of cats, and I have 4. It’s really difficult to be dealing with a newborn and trying to make sure the cats are away. Especially because DS is not feeding great, so now we are doing a regimen every 2-3 hours of feeding, pumping, and supplementing with formula what he needs until his jaundice is better. It’s exhausting.
Raves: The lactation consultant and doctor we have are phenomenal, they are so on top of things and so responsive. After being told “that’s just pregnancy, ignore it” so after during the pregnancy it’s great to see some proactive stuff when it comes to my baby!
GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe! I hate the pet name “babe”. It just makes me think of the episode of the Office with the dinner party, I feel like It tends to be the go to during a lot of people’s passive aggressive relationship arguments. But that’s just me and my own experiences. 🤷🏼♀️

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 39w4d/ Bruiser from Legally Blonde / Friday
FTM, Etc: #4
Appointments: First thing tomorrow
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Pink
Milestones: Almost to my due date...yay.
Symptoms: Sore hip, peeing like twice an hour, pelvic pain, insomnia...etc
Rants: I have this strong feeling I'm going to make it to 40+ weeks. Rationally, I know it's a good thing to let her take her time but my gosh, I'm so uncomfortable and done. I'm so glad to be almost there but the waiting part is hard, man.
Raves: Almost there. Either way, she'll be born by next Friday. Nothing against induction but I'd really like to avoid yet another one so hopefully she'll come before then!
GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe! I'm so ridiculous but I have many ha. The most cliche one is "moist" but I also hate the word "flesh". There are more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 37 weeks/Oct 14
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: yesterday and next Monday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink
Milestones: early term!
Symptoms: swelling has been out of control this week, I also spent about two hours timing contractions Sunday night which were 6 minutes apart. They slowed down after taking a bath, but shit got real. Bags are definitely packed now!
Rants: my gbs came back positive, not a big deal, but we’re 45 minutes from the hospital and this being my third I’m panicking a bit about making it in time for IV antibiotics.
Raves: Doctor reviewed my ultrasound and wasn’t concerned about the fluid the tech noted around the heart. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing from here on out.
GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe! Doesn’t make me cringe, but two things I HATE are if DH tells me to “relax” (very rarely happens because he knows it will send me into a blind rage) or if someone calls me “young lady.” Specifically male clients of a certain age. I’ve had it happen at work while wearing my doctors jacket, and whew, it’s not great.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 16 days FTM, Etc: 3tm Appointments: baby blood draw today at 10 to check calcium level. 😭😭 Team (pink, blue, green, finding out):pink Milestones: she has passed her birth weight and appears to be growing well Symptoms: I am reminded once again of how hard breast feeding is for me. I just don't make enough milk. I knew this going in but it's still frustrating to experience again. Rants: I think I'm doing similar to what you said, peggyhill. She nurses, then I supplement with formula or pumped breast milk, then I pump for 15 minutes and hand express. Then I repeat every 2-3 hrs. She's actually a better latcher than my boys, it's just she's really little and doesn't currently remove enough milk to maintain my already crappy supply Raves: Love her so much. This is going to sound weird, but I'm really sleep deprived. You know how cute the miniature gold fish crackers and other mini food is? Well, compared to my boys, she's my mini baby and she's just so CUTE! She also looks like a wrinkled old man while still being adorable. GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe! Moist? I'm sure there are more. The phrase "try and" versus "try to" annoys me.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 38w5/Oct 3
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: Tomorrow for a 2nd sweep and stretch, NST, and handing her her final eviction notice; induction Thursday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out):girl
Milestones: T-2 days until she gets evicted!!
Symptoms: all of them
Rants: I AM SO OVER BEING PREGNANT
Raves: I WILL NOT BE PREGNANT EVER AGAIN BY THIS WEEKEND. Can you tell I’m so ready for this? Thursday is also T-6 weeks until DH’s ✂️✂️
GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe!
Miss Prim/Princess/Prince/etc terms to describe children. I hate it so much. Because I don’t refer to the baby by name outside of the house (because we haven’t shared the name), I call her little miss. My grandmother has taken to calling her either a princess or miss prim, and I cringe every fucking time

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 36/papaya/oct 22
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: midwife Thursday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green
Milestones: ? Getting big?
Symptoms: nothing new. Peeing lots, lots of BH and baby trying to headbutt his/her way out
Rants: no rant just impatient. I want baby here now! But realistically I need him/her to wait until at least oct 11 when my parents get back from Europe. And DS’s birthday is oct 12 so ideally after that too
Raves: just loving the baby movement and trying to relish it since this is my last baby
GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe! “I seen it”

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 38/Pomeranian/Oct 7 FTM, Etc: 3 Appointments: just had one today. HB was 160, belly was 37 weeks. Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green Milestones: made it another week! I realllllly want this baby to stay in until Oct 1 at least and then I will probably be doing all the mall walking/spicy food eating/foot massaging. Baby is still head down (whew) and I think my doc is annoyed that I refuse to be checked. I promised her next week she can. Symptoms: BHs, increased discharge Rants: can’t sleep. Preparation I guess. Raves: hospital saw that I basically met my OOP already so agreed to waive the “delivery prepayment” that I would just have to track down and get reimbursed later. GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe? I’m with you peggyhill I really hate “babe.”

Week/Object size/EDD: 38w3d / Oscar statue / Oct 5
FTM, Etc: 2TM
Appointments: Weekly appointment on Friday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Green
Milestones: Full term by anyone's definition I think?
Symptoms: Same old, same old. Except now I have some added pressure down low whenever I stand up from sitting. I also feel head movement super low. TMI, but I can feel head bumps on the outside just north of my vulva. Hoping that means this baby has dropped!
Rants: I had to explicitly tell my H to stop making comments about this birth going to same as with #1 (36 hours, she didn't want to descend, etc). He agreed to stop but seriously, why would you keep telling the anxious pregnant person that you think it's going to be the same extremely difficult situation?!
Raves: Still overall feeling good!
GTKY: I also hate "irregardless" (it's not a word!). And any kind of gender-speak to babies and kids.

thinkchocolate05 Sorry for the breastfeeding struggle. I still debate if I truly produced enough with my first during the first few months because I certainly didn't after that. Really hoping it's different with this one but also trying to get into a good headspace if it's the same.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 37+2/honeydew melon/Oct 14
FTM, Etc: STM
Appointments: OB yesterday, NST tomorrow
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Blue
Milestones: Early term
Symptoms: Getting HUGE and waddling, starting to get contractions here and there (cramping and back pain, so I assume that's not just BH?), so much pressure when I stand up after sitting
Rants: I'm still at work for another week and a half. I'm struggling with it a lot. Being a teacher means you don't actually have much time in your work day to work, but I have SO much work to do to prepare to be gone for months. I am also having trouble with the idea of some stranger being in my classroom and touching my stuff for months. It's like someone living in my house and wearing my clothes. It freaks me the hell out. I had R during the summer and got literally one week off of work, so this wasn't an issue.
Raves: Just happy that this has been an easy and healthy pregnancy. I'm remembering back to being pregnant with R and how miserable I was. I had to stop wearing my wedding rings mid-2nd tri because my hands got so fat, and I'm looking at pictures and my legs and feet were so swollen I couldn't wear normal shoes anymore. I had so many pains and ailments and was so miserable. This pregnancy feels like it has gone by so fast, and I know part of it is just from feeling so much better. I'm thankful for that.
GTKY: What is one word you hate to hear more than anything? Something that makes you just cringe! I really don't like the word utilize. Just say use! It's the exact same thing!

Sorry I've been MIA lately! Thanks for the tag aeroplaneoverthesea. We are still in the NICU. K is almost 7 weeks old now. Her jaw distractions went amazingly and her apnea issues are gone. She's like a different baby now! Next issue we're trying to get through is feeding. Before the surgery she starting having really bad spit ups and after surgery she started dropping weight. They did an NJ tube which goes into the small intestine instead of the stomach but she was still having spit ups that looked like stomach bile instead of milk. We finally got her on zantac for reflux and that made things much better! She's back to gaining weight and only has tiny baby spit ups once in a while now. We're going to attempt going back to stomach feeds on Monday and hopefully she tolerates that so we can figure out next steps. I'm already expecting she'll need a g-tube. She has been practicing with the bottle since last week but only takes 4-7 mL at a time which isn't nearly enough. I think it'll be a while before she can be fully fed by mouth. I'm already having some anxiety about what to do about work. My 6 weeks of short term ended Monday. I'm burning through my vacation time now then my 12 weeks of FMLA starts next Tuesday. We're not even home and all the therapists that come by in the NICU started talking about what happens after we leave which I hadn't even thought about. It sounds like she's going to need to see speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy on top of whatever she needs for her club foot and other follow ups and normal pediatrician appointments. I just don't think I could go back to work after my FMLA ends. H is fine with me taking an extended leave if I have to but he's concerned about losing my income long term. Sooo it's all a bit overwhelming. Sorry for the long update! Apparently I had to get that all out haha. GTKY: Ugh definitely agree with "I seen". Nope, stop.

goldenlove, That’s amazing K made such great progress with her jaw, but I’m sorry for all the other struggles and the stress of what’s to come. One thing at a time. Hope you are finding some time to rest.
