Yeeees! There are dozens of us! Haha.
This show is so good. I’ve spent too much time wondering how much Logan plans vs taking advantage of lucky breaks. The most particularly frustrating cases for me are Kendall’s car accident and the suicide at the office. There are threads in both that suggest set ups and threads that say none of it was planned.
I understand why it’s a hard sell in this current climate, but I’m glad we went for it and watched.

Okay - I broke out the computer to answer this.
I don't think either situation has a clear answer. I think what's awesome is that the show will probably never tell us. I don't think either of these stories will be paid off later - I think they offer just enough for you to wonder.
The car accident
- Background: Kendall was heir apparent until his father screwed him in the beginning of season 1. In retaliation, he planned for the board to vote him out. It didn't work, but damn did Kendall get close. And then, Kendall comes back with another, better, stronger, frighteningly good plan at the end of season 1. Logan is forced to realize that he trained Kendall, he taught Kendall to play shrewdly and that Kendall would be as ruthless as him. He needed to bring Kendall to heel. Permanently. This comes in the form of a murder cover up. But, how did the murder itself come to be?
Chance: Kendall is an addict. He was desperate for a fix. A waiter had what he needed and Kendall ruined himself. Logan turned a disaster into opportunity.
Set up: Logan needed enough blackmail on Kendall to quiet him permanently. We saw in the episode that Logan would pay off a waiter to put on a huge show for him - the waiter picked a fight with Logan (poured wine on him, I think) and the waiter was paid discreetly after being "fired." Logan knew that Kendall was an addict - everyone did. It was Greg who pointed out the waiter to Kendall. Kendall didn't find the waiter by just happening upon him - he was directed to him. In the car, it was the waiter who pulled the wheel. Kendall didn't drive off the road - the waiter pulled the wheel toward him and they drove off the road. The deer in the road appeared quite fake in the few seconds it was shown (could have been a prop for the show, though). The car ran into water. The waiter was from the area. They didn't ram into a tree, a house, a ditch... no, they hit water. Water that if you're faking your high, then you can most likely get out of. Or... water that will kill a high person who doesn't understand their surroundings.
Is it possible that Logan put a hit out on his own kid? I have no idea. Is it possible that Kendall was pointed to the waiter who pulled the wheel at the right moment from a fake a deer that was in the street at the right spot so the car would go into the water? The waiter would have his wits to get out while Kendall may or may not. He dies? Logan wins with a clean ending - sad accident of his addict son. Or, Kendall gets away and he's left to believe that the waiter died. It was - afterall - Logan's men who tell Kendall how it ended. It wasn't police or any authorities.
I see both ways. I think that's the point. I can see two sides to the Panic Room episode, too.

I'm not 100% convinced that it was set up by Logan though. I thought it was Kendall's idea to get in the car. I admit I don't remember though. I also don't see Logan putting a hit out on Kendall either. Especially with seeing the newest episodes. Even though Logan can be crazy manipulative and kind of a tyrant I believe deep down he loves his children, especially the men of the family. I mean look at Roman. Ultimate fuck up, yet Logan keeps him close. I'm open to hearing all theories though. I'm just happy to have someone to talk about this show with. My H thinks it's boring and won't watch with me 🙄. It's one my favorites

I don’t think anything is conclusive. There are just things that add up one way and things that add up another way. I like the ambiguity.
I don’t think Logan loves his children in a way that looks familiar to me. He loves what they can do for him, he loves to play them off each other, he loves to appear endearing and then kick their knees out. I think Logan loves his company and will go to great lengths to keep it. I think he loves to abuse his children and anyone really that he has power over (the dinner party was horrifying).
I think Logan’s “concern” for Kendall (where is he? Where is Kendall?) is conveniently placed by the writers. He wants Kendall in the room to do the deal with Holly Hunter by playing off Shiv. Shiv is only there on that day because Holly Hunter will be, too. He’s no more bringing her in than retiring himself. Logan’s using her excitement and eagerness to prove herself with Kendall’s loyalty and devotion to him to get what he wants.
I think Logan is very good at arranging his pieces and adjusting when his opponents offer a counter move. But where his mind ends and his luck begins is very gray.
Wanna talk about Roman and Gerri?? I was shocked and then not. I would hate Roman in real life because I’d never see his vulnerable sides. Watching him in the show is just so entertaining and makes me sympathetic to him.

Is that why he seems to be contemplating suicide? Because his Dad is really pushing this too far but he has no way out?

I love this show! It’s funny, dramatic, dark...
I don’t think Kendall had anything to do with the suicide. Did you notice the glass walls that went up on the rooftop after the shooting? I think his dad is truly worried about his state of mind - even if he is happy he now has him under control.
Roman’s side comments are the best!

Or the glass walls further symbolize the cage that Kendall is in. Tighter, less penetrable. They’re watching him - they know he’s shoplifting all over NYC. He’s becoming more ruthless, more daring, less cares...
Something will bring him out of this robotic state. I’m curious exactly what it will be.

But, I know others do, which is why I asked. He feels so desperate - married a woman who doesn’t like him/wants to use him, emulates how he treats her with how he treats Greg/employees, has no discernible achievements to be where he is professionally other than his father-in-law, etc. But, I don’t “like” anyone on this show. Is anyone good hearted? Maybe Greg, but he still does bad shit. I find their different moral system and motivations fascinating, though. These aren’t people like me so I need to stop trying to find it and just accept that they are different.

Who is the least despicable? Is Tom going to prison? He does read the prison blogs.

I'm still catching up on S2, and obviously haven't watched 3. As for Shiv, he has no intention of handing things over to her, right? I had to pause mid-episode meeting the Pierces at their home. But I get the distinct feeling he only offered it to her to get her off the senator's campaign where she could easily do him damage by spilling about the cruise coverups.
Tom is a useful idiot, as is Greg. But both are oddly endearing.
All the Roy children are just so desperate to please Logan and maybe he'll actually love them. It's a depressing dynamic.
It's entertaining mess.

I'm watching! I have laughed less this season so far but that's mainly because Tom and Greg are going through some things in their relationship. I do like the new shifting alignments/machinations so far though. I'm just patiently waiting for Alexander Skarsgaard to appear as well. I'm going to spoiler the rest because it's more specific to recent S3 episodes - so for those who haven't caught up yet, you've been warned: In the last episode, you could tell when they were walking through the grasses back to the house, that there was a tiny part of Kendall who hoped that maybe the bs that Logan said about loving him and it being him one day was real. You can just see the point at which Logan lays into him where he knows for sure that it was all made up. Good acting in that scene!
And I continue to like Jerri and Roman's dynamic aside from how much he talks about maturbating with her.
And I kind of love the idea of Conn coming on board the company. I am a ConnHead - aside from the politics part.

All those kids are so desperate for their father’s love because they never got it growing up. I nearly choked when Logan said “I know what it’s like” when Josh talked about his daughter’s fever. As if Logan ever felt a paternal pang.
Logan just spins and moves and manipulates to keep his kids guessing and hoping that maybe - FINALLY - Daddy will give them some love and attention. It’s so hard to watch because Logan will never give them what they want. Every relationship is transactional - what can you do for me and I for you?
Roman is deeply interesting to me. Unlike Kendall or Siobhan, Roman may be able to grow. He’s aware that his Dad plays them all, he knows that while Kendall is right that he will implode as CEO, and he has not allied himself with another sibling. He stepped out and is allied with Gerri. Gerri who seems to treat him like a son and is interested in what he has to say.
I could go on. I have sympathy for Kendall. I think Siobhan is headed for a fall that she won’t allow herself to truly feel. Connor is as lost as Siobhan is bullheaded. All these kids so broken and hurt.
I hate Tom still. Greg is too young to be in Congress so much and he’s not familiar with that IP.
EDIT: Obligatory statement that yeah, there’s the whole sexual thing going on between Gerri and Roman so use of “son” was a bad choice. I just meant that she seemed interested in mentoring him, coaching him, encouraging him.

Finally caught up.
Omg to that Kendall rap in season 2. I cringed so hard. Awesomely bad.
I feel like as soon as Naomi said "he likes you broken" to Ken you knew he was going to try to bring his dad down again.
I also think there's no possible way this ends well for Kendall when going up against the person who rescued him/ covered up his involvement in the server's death. There's nothing off-limits with this family, especially when push comes to shove.
Greg is getting really annoying to me. As is the whole Tom/ Shiv situation. I can't for the life of me figure out why she was ever with him, or why she seems to want to keep him around.
