What kind of winter boots do y'all like your kiddos? He had a pair of Bogs, the kind with velcro in the back, which was great for last year when he was barely walking on his own. I found a different pair at the consignment store without the velcro but they're a bit harder to put on plus I don't love that the handle opening is still pretty low. We tried a few others last year but a lot of them were too hard to get on. Are there better boots out there for little kids?

Plus I'm not convinced that they're not totally ridiculous looking, although they looked cuter and less clunky in person than I thought.

We found a pair of almost-new Lands End boots at OUAC last year, and I was so excited. But they were SO hard to get on. Do not recommend. I have no actual good ideas for you, though. I'll be watching and hoping for suggestions.

@icedtea , how's your kiddo feeling today? Better, thanks! She went to daycare today, thank the gods. Now I just need to recover from all the lack of sleep and clinginess. π΄ Their ability to suck the energy out of you is something. I'm glad she's better!

piratecat, we have had both Stride Rite and Cat and Jack and honestly for the amount my kid actually wore them or played in the snow, I don't think the Stride Rite were that much better than Cat and Jack and they were probably double the price. My MIL had an obsession in buying the best snow boots but I didn't think they were all that special.

@icedtea, Glad she is feeling better. Croup sucks ugh and I can't believe we are already talking croup in September. I hate the winter sickness that basically runs Sept-May.

I'll be watching and hoping for suggestions. Same with Columbia boots, plus they are so stiff and clunky. We had a pair of LL Bean boots that are cinched on the neck and they were the absolute worst, never did manage to get his feet in. They have such tiny delicate feet. LL Bean has a pair that looks nice but DNW to spend $60...

I am tired of my kid spitting food out. I don't/didn't mind it so much when he would try something new/newish and then decide he doesn't like it and spit it out because at least he was trying them. But now I feel like he is doing it more with foods he does like, he would chew it a bunch, spit it out, and then eat another bite of the same food. I obviously can't force him to swallow, and we are careful about him not having to eat something he doesn't like, so I feel kind of stuck. I've gotten him to spit it into a napkin but it's still so gross.

Lakes surgery?! I hope everything is ok. Itβs a strabismus eye muscle surgery for her eye turn. I know itβs a common procedure but my anxiety is all itβs anesthesia and her eyeball. I missed your replay. I hope it's a quick procedure and recovery and yes, you are allowed to be anxious even if it's an in office procedure, it's your baby.

And if she continued I'd say she was done and get her down from the table. She learned pretty quickly that this was a no go. It's super gross.

Since they're the same age, maybe it's a developmental texture thing? She needs all the calories she can get so removing her isn't really an option. I'm just rolling with it, telling her that's not what we do, and hoping it ends soon. Yea, he's done the spitting out food he actually doesn't like (VEGETABLES) for a while and he'll say he doesn't like it, and I'm fine with it because I want to encourage him to at try things to see if he likes it. But yesterday he was chewing for a really long time and then spitting it out and I wondered if he didn't like the texture of the food after being in his mouth for so long, but you know, just swallow it! I encouraged him to drink and wash it down, which only helped a little. Swallow! How much does yours weigh now? I think mine's barely 25 lbs right now.

But she's 3 ft tall. String bean. He's short too, only 33" at his last appointment a few months ago, although I feel like he's gotten taller since then and I don't have to cuff his pants. I should measure him.
