How’s it going? 0-3 moDid you do anything to prepare for breastfeeding while pregnant? 4-8 moWhat is something about breastfeeding you wish someone had told you on day 1? If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? 9-12moDo you have plans to TTC that affect your BF plans? Questions/AW? GTKY: tell us about one of your “wins” last week (something that you rocked at, some situation that you salvaged, etc)

How old is your LO? 17 weeks, he will be 4 months in a few days.
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing while we are together, pumping twice a day at work (visiting him once a day at daycare to nurse). We had a few days where he was stuffy, and had trouble breathing while eating, so that was rough, but we seem to be back to normal now. They had me up his bottles to 4oz from 3oz at daycare. He is eating it all, so that is good. I am still pumping a bit more than he takes, but it is still stressful worrying about pumping enough. I hate that worry, and I have no reason to worry.
0-3 mo Did you do anything to prepare for breastfeeding while pregnant? No, but I had successfully breastfed 2 babies before, so I had a general idea what I was doing.
Questions/AW? Nothing for now.
GTKY: tell us about one of your “wins” last week (something that you rocked at, some situation that you salvaged, etc) I am happy we survived the first week of kindergarten.

How old is your LO? 3 months on Wednesday
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing with the very occasional pump/bottle. It is going well.
0-3 mo Did you do anything to prepare for breastfeeding while pregnant? I read some books and made sure I was prepared with everything I would need (nipple cream, shields just in case because I quit with my first due to torn up nipples, pads, nursing bras). I didn’t want to have any excuses to not try everything before quitting this time and I ended up having it pretty easy so far.
Questions/AW?

We are finally falling into a routine that doesn’t include me laying with my big kid until he falls asleep or us yelling at him a million times to go to bed so I guess I’m rocking our bedtime?

I just thought of a question-
My right boob doesn’t produce as much as my left which I understand is normal. I always try to start with the right to make sure he drains it as often as possible, but he will get fussy after like 3-5 minutes on that side and eat on the left for closer to 8. Am I doing the right thing by just switching him once he fusses? And by starting on the right side all the time? Totally normal?

@starzia, you said you work p/t... so on the days you are home, i would pump sometime in the morning, like after LO's first feeding. you should be able to get a few ounces per day that way. depending on how flexible things are for you at work, you could also potentially pump for a few extra minutes or add in an extra session during the day to try to get some extra ounces. would it be possible for a friend or relative (or even hire a babysitter from a service that's local to the area) to come with you and watch the baby and then you can nurse as needed? if you could work that out it would be way easier and less stressful. mamabear02, yes, it is common to have a "stud and a dud." why not just put him back on the right side after he's done on the left? so do R-L-R.
