Back from being on a work trip last week. Even though I get a break from parenting, it’s still exhausting. Dinners every night til 11pm? No thank you. Tomorrow we are going to the football game and I’m so excited. I’m going to order some cocktails and a hot dog.

We had DD2s birthday party yesterday. I refuse to believe she’ll be 2 this coming week. She knew exactly who the party was for and loved all the attention. Grandparents got her a new baby Stella and new baby stroller. She was in heaven and promptly forgot everything else.
Also, when you ask DD2 “how old are you?” She responds by stretching her hands up and saying “BIG!” 😂 We are just a work in progress here I suppose.

Hello from crappy air quality land. Normally, the pollution season doesn’t start this early, but thanks to some farmers doing slash and burn up north, prevailing southern winds, and good ‘ole pollution from China, we have been dealing with AQI 150-200 weather since Sunday. I hate that we are already breaking out the N99 masks and that my kids can’t play outside.
It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, and I am hoping that will improve the air - at least so DS1 can have recess outside again. He’s getting all cooped up and it’s not even October yet! 😩😭

Hello.
I have a 2 year old now. He can answer "how old are you" with "two" but ONLY WHEN HE WANTS TO!!! (I.e., he's only done it mayyyybe twice.) DS1 is trying to teach him how to hold up 2 fingers and that is not going well.
We had his birthday party Saturday evening and he was very loved and spoiled. He spent all day yesterday playing with his new toys. And the balloons. We could've just bought him balloons and he would've been thrilled.

CoachTsWife we could have just done balloons too and DD2 would have been equally thrilled 🎈 Taitai nooooooooooo to all AQI, way too early for all the mask wearing. I hope some rain will bring about a bit of change. Yuck. Are you and your H all over the flu yet?

You are super mom - hats off to you - I....am not that nice...lol 🤣😂 Haha well we did offer...we sent my sister and BIL to a hotel for a night as a thank you for all their help with our renovations (my BIL was our realtor and let us use all his contractors at cost with no mark up). We took them for dinner and an escape room a month ago and gave them an open ended gift of a night away. We said you can use it now or in a year but this is the hotel we picked, just tell us when to book it. Soooo, we did technically offer now but weren’t expecting them to use it for a while haha. We didn’t leave DD overnight until she was almost 2 (confession? 😬) and DS was 13 months and that was just with DH while I went to Boston, he was probably close to 18 months before we both left him overnight. But it was pretty smooth actually, she is a good sleeper (which my kids were not at that age) so it wasn’t too bad! I was definitely tired Sunday afternoon though!

DD2’s results for her last bloodwork came back low but still in the "normal range". Another doctor is going to take a look at her case history as a second opinion but for now we will just proceed with "watch and see" bloodwork every 3 months unless the doctor making the second opinion suggests otherwise. This is definitely the best case scenario - more zoo trips for her and I but without some of the worry!
