We sold our house (pending inspection, of course). It was on the market a week and we got a full price offer. Our house is 92 years old so I imagine some things will come up on the inspection but I know this woman really wants the house so it should be ok. she asked for $4k in closing costs and we countered with $2k so we would have some wiggle room if she wants something from the inspection. I am hoping that get that done quickly so we can move forward. We are set to close on 10/11.
I am so glad it happened quickly because the chaos that came with cleaning, fixing up, and running in and out of the house for showings was really taking its toll on the boys. N adapts pretty well but DS1 has been having a really hard time with all of the change. I am hoping now he will be able to settle a bit and feel comfortable again. We are having a bit of a hard time with him in general but I suppose that comes with being almost 4.

We landed on a barnyard theme for his party. The kid is obsessed with cows. 🐮 I'm taking a moment to catch up and chill before eating lunch/working out. Ds2 is down for an early nap and the puppy is passed out. 🙌 Ds1 went off to school without issue. He struggled a little bit last week with walking quietly in the hallway and then during two of the extracurricular classes (that required him to be still/quiet). But all in the realm of normal for a four year old We've been spending a lot of time outside with our neighbors and this one kid does NOT like to share. (He will be 3 in January -- so totally normal for the age) and ds1 was super patient with him when he wouldn't give ds1 a turn with one of our toys. I'm trying to do better about backing off and letting ds1 handle his own problems in social situations. He did really well! He's also warming up to the puppy too. Ds2 hates getting up early so he's a major grouch today. A haircut is on the agenda for him this week too rooskie it gets in his eyes and it bugs him.

Yesterday it got quiet and I found my kids hiding behind a chair with nail polish. DS painted his toe and is very proud of his “pupul” toe. 🤦♀️ Lord help me when these two team up!

I’m finished Christmas shopping for the kids🤦♀️. Oh man that is #goals. I barely even have a list together for N. And it's mostly Elmo, so low hanging fruit Crap, I don't even have ideas for H's birthday next month. Oops.

I just have their stocking stuff left to do!

I’m finished Christmas shopping for the kids🤦♀️. We got one of those Little Tikes STEM Labs when TRU went under that is going to be their big Christmas gift this year. That's all we've got.

I’m super impressed that some of you have even started Christmas shopping. H and I determined what our budget will be, but that’s as far as we got.
We’re having a low key day here after a crazy day yesterday. DD had a hole in her heart repaired yesterday. It was done via catheter and then she had to be sedated for several hours following the procedure. She did perfectly and got to come home yesterday evening. Looking at her today, you’d have no idea what all she went through yesterday. She’s her normal, wild and crazy self! We’ll check on it in 6-8 weeks and if everything looks good we’ll be released from cardiology!

So glad everything went well, culinarycanary!!! Another thing to add to the "Didn't Know Until I Had Kids" list - according to my pedi's website, mosquito bite swelling on small children is very common, especially if it's on the face/near the eyes. Had no idea. I need that old NBC "The More You Know" clip.

I don't think we are doing much in terms of gifts for Christmas. We have so much STUFF. I am thinking 2 things each. IDK. I say that and then I buy all the things. For DD2's bday, I am getting her this backpack. She is absolutely obsessed with buckles. Buckle ALL the things.

Also, hi, all. I just feel like I haven't had much to say lately so I haven't been here much. H and I have trivia tonight, it is night 1 of an 8 week tournament we are doing. We get points for each weekly game we do, and then if our point total is in the top whatever number of teams, we get to go to the finale game in November. We have been going to trivia consistently for a few weeks and always do pretty well, at least at our home base bar. So we will see if we have a chance.
Yes, we are nerds! Haha.

I got B some stuff on Prime day that I’m using for his birthday. So far we have the FP Nativity set, some M&D puzzles, and a M&D Mickey car set that he loved at the haircut place. I think we are going to get him a balance bike for either his birthday or Christmas.

I've only thought about her birthday by my sister in law asked me to do a joint party with my niece, so we'll do that.

We are definitely sticking to the want/need/wear/read thing for Christmas this year, maybe even less. We just have too many toys and crap. That’s part of the reason that I don’t really want to have a birthday party for C. Is it terrible if we just don’t do anything other than cake just for the 4 of us? I was also planning on taking the day off work, doing something fun with him, and maybe letting Ds1 pick him out a gift. I don’t want to make my other family feel bad or left out, I just flat out don’t want to have a party.

Not much has been going on here lately. It is so weird that these little people will be two soon!
Figured out that if I put underwear over his diaper, A will leave it on. He isn’t quite ready to be PT yet, so I will use this trick to keep the streaking at bay.
I haven’t been getting anything done this and the end of last week, because I’ve become MIL’s chauffeur. Laundry is on the agenda, as I’ve been digging to get the boys dressed in the mornings.

And as far as Christmas, we will be doing the need/want/wear plus the stocking: toothbrush, ornament, m&ms, & maybe a movie. We use the library for books and have so many they haven’t read yet.

Ds2 did great at his haircut and now he looks so grown up! I’ve been in training all week and it’s pretty boring but the good news is we’ve been getting out early so yesterday I napped and today I’m at the gym before having to get the kids instead of my usual 830pm workout 🙌🏻

I'm so bored at work this week. I should absolutely not be complaining, because I prefer this to it being crazy, but ugh. I have a half hour left, and I just want to go home. I also left my earbuds at home, so I can't listen to my podcast, which is lame.
We did okay at trivia last night. Not as well as usual, and we didn't place, but we earned a decent amount of points. There were some questions we got right that no one else did, and some answers I surprised myself by knowing, lol.

I think we may just spend the day at Chuck E Cheese. Both kids love it there.
