tgrimes always had the best advice. Only because I've learned from my mistakes.

Hi. DH finally comes home today and I cannot wait. It has been a long 4 days. I hate sleeping alone all night when he isn't here because my anxiety goes through the roof. And of course, last night around midnight, the smoke detectors in my room, and both my kids' rooms go off. And they don't just loudly beep, they actually talk and say "FIRE FIRE GET OUT NOW!" over and over. So that literally scared the shit out of me. Obviously, there wasn't a fire but I am thinking the batteries are dying. I took the batteries out of them all and then they started chirping at me so I went in and unscrewed them from the ceiling. B luckily went back to sleep but J was crying saying he was scared of the voice. So he slept with me the entire night.
Yesterday, after B got up from a nap, I noticed he had a bug bite on his stomach. It looked harmless and it didn't seem another him so I let it go. This morning, I gave the kids a bath and when I was drying B off, I noticed the bite got redder and there was another red line going from the bite up his stomach. So we rush to the pedi for their walk in hours and sure enough, the kid has lymphangitis AGAIN. He just had this at the beginning of the month in his pinky toe. I really feel like the universe has been testing me these last 4 days DH has been gone!

Omg waitwhat. That's all too much. And those detectors really should be outfitted with a BEEP* to alert you that it needs new batteries. Yelling at you that there's a fire is really uncalled for. Glad your H is coming home so you can hopefully get a bit of a break. *my phone automatically capitalized this thanks to the BEEP BEEP convo on SC 😂

Baby is here! Born this morning at 8:01am weighing 7lbs 8oz and 19.25” long. Repeat C went smoothly, I had some side effects from the pain meds but I’m feeling better now. He’s a pretty good nurser, sometimes it takes him a bit to get a good latch. I forgot how difficult it is to latch a newborn. Tapa is acting up so I can’t post a pic just now but I’ll keep trying.

We went to the park for a kindergarten meet up this morning. Sooooo hot. My contractors painted my room, bathroom and M’s room today so now that side of the house is finished.
I’m taking M to my in laws in a bit. They ended up with an extra ticket to the Texans game tonight and want to take her. She’ll be spending the night...SCORE!

We are planning on going home today. Little man faked us out and slept too well the first night, so he made up for it by waking up every hour last night. I’m still in a lot of pain. This feels worse to me than the first go around but maybe I just blocked it out. I’m still ready to be home though, but I will miss room service.
