lemondrop, That's why the boys went into their own rooms by 3 weeks old. It was stressing Moo out way too much.

lemondrop I would move baby to a seperate room if he was causing that much stress with wake ups. I would probably turn the monitor way down too or off and just wait until you hear the crying from the nursery at night. That's a simple CIO method...if you happen to sleep through the smaller cries baby may start to self soothe. Good luck though hope you get longer stretches soon.

lemondrop, we moved the twins into their own room before sleep training. I'm sorry for the short stretches. Hopefully you were in the midst of the regression and will be on the other side soon. We went on a little vacation and did a house rental instead of hotel. The boys did pretty good, all things considered. However, we gave them pacifiers much more than usual so we want to start taking then away entirely. They got them in the car and during night sleep, usually it's just during naps. After my in laws leave, we're going to work on self soothing at naps and night weaning. We are mostly at 2 bottles a night now, instead of 3. They started sweet potato, applesauce, and avocado (not all at once). I really hope we can get down to one wakeup soon. Once my H goes back to work, I'm going to have to wakeup at like 5 or 5:30 for work and it's going to be brutal.

Eames feel free to commiserate with me I get up at 5 am for work. Once my oldest starts kindergarten I need to leave the house by 6:15...😬 I would love if i could feed my kid at 10 and then she slept until 5 or 6 am so I could feed her right before I leave....I dont invision that happening until she is 12 months old 😴😴😴.

More sleep questions:
Max can roll from back to front, but not front to back. At night we swaddle him in a Muslin swaddle that he can kick/ punch out of (I feel ok about this, but not great - but unswaddled he doesn’t sleep at all unless he’s on me so 🤷🏼♀️) He hasn’t tried to roll over while swaddled.
During the day I’m trying to get him to sleep unswaddled, but then he rolls himself onto his tummy and then screams bloody murder until I roll him back over. He does this ad nauseam until I give up and hold him. I don’t want to let him sleep on his belly because SIDS. I’m also not a good swaddler (H does it at night) so it’s kind of worthless to try and then it’s just extra fabric for him to face plant into.
What do I dooooo?
Meanwhile my H’s friend had a baby 5 weeks ago and she’s already sleeping from 9pm to 5am without needing a feeding so I’m just going to go fucking fling myself off a bridge now.

lemondrop This is such a tough phase. Have you tried the Merlin sleep suit? The padding helps control flailing arms and might help. I wish we were local and I’d loan you one of ours to try. I tested a regular sleep sack the other day for a nap and it went poorly, but she sleeps fine in the puffy suit. It also makes it much harder to roll, but also has to be stopped once they can roll in the suit.

lemondrop, bummer, I was going to suggest the Merlin suit too. Maybe a velcro swaddle would help for awhile as long as he's not trying to roll in it? I'm incapable of swaddling using a blanket, I found that the velcro one (we used Halo) was much more effective. DS would bust out of the blanket in minutes, but stayed swaddled tight in the Halo.

I need to try the Halo. We had the SwaddleMe ones, but he's too tall and could wiggle his arm out.

lemondrop, how big is he? I have some Halo’s I’m not using and would be happy to send you if they’d fit. I also have a zipadee zip that may work for you. I never even tried it but I’ve heard good things.

lemondrop, LT for solidarity. One of my guys rolls immediately in the crib, and it's maddening. He likes to sleep on his side best. He gets pissy when he makes it all the way over. We kind of just let him figure it out now, but he's almost 6 months. I've always heard to put them down on the back, but if they roll to a more comfy spot you can leave them. Too bad the Merlin Suit didn't work. Have you looked up the super swaddle method using 2 blankets? It worked great with my DD. Check YouTube and let me know if you can't find it!

We actually tried the zipadee zip, too - I don’t know if it was the fabric, but he sweat like crazy in it and it didn’t stop him from flailing. He did actually fit into it but we had to tie the bottom.

Iiiiiinteresting on the super swaddle! I’m going to try that when it’s daylight and I’m not half dead. If he runs hot, I would just put him in a onesie or something light. It uses 2 blankets and we always did a receiving blanket for the smaller one and a large muslin one (pretty light) for the outer one. DD was born in Sept though, so for us it was like... Jan-Feb maybe when we did it and much cooler. It really helped her through that 4 month regression, then we were able to move to a Merlin Suit then a sleep sack. She needed to be "pinned down" for a long time to get any sort of long stretch, so I relate. (Pinned down sounds mean but hopefully you know what I mean, lol. "Restrained" might be better word but I'm not sure.) She was a shitty napper and I remember holding her for all naps and holding her arms down. We got a nanny who was like, oh, I can fix that! And she only lasted a month because DD would just not nap otherwise. 😭😭😭
