We brought his balance bike and he rode it a couple of times to the playground so that was good. He is SUPER slow and SO cautious it’s ridiculous and hilarious. He is going 0.0000000001 mph and I told him if he keeps practicing he’ll be able to go faster and he told me that he had to get bigger first before he goes faster. 😂 I love how cautious he is...sounds like me as a kid. DD is a super daredevil. We took her to the pool a couple of weeks ago and she just walked right off the ledge into the pool. I was already in the pool so I kind of caught her, but I was like geez kid. 😬

We are always encouraging him to be more daring and adventurous but I'm sure I will appreciate the cautiousness when he's older.

I am a little bit faster than walking speed though.

Our daycare is having a cook out this Friday and the parents are invited. They've also asked for volunteers to bring in side dishes and so far people have signed up to bring a pasta salad and fruit salad. What could I bring? Something that can be made ahead... preferably served cold/room temperature. I feel like there should be vegetables, maybe a broccoli salad, but I also don't want to bring in the one healthy thing the kids won't touch. Or what about something on the sweet side, like a strawberry rhubarb oat bars?

Haha, I don't know, I don't think I've ever actually made it, I'd have to look up a recipe. I know a lot of them have bacon, which I guess makes it delicious and not very healthy. I figured it would at least have a vegetable that most kids would at least be familiar with. (Although my kid would probably ask "what's that" even though he's seen it thousands of times before.)

DS is in his new Twos room and doing well, but the sweet boy asks for his Toddlers teachers every morning while we get ready. They're Cally and Alexa, and he calls them Cally-Lexa most of the time. Sometimes he just asks about his favorite, "My Cally." We have to walk the long way to his new room so he doesn't walk by My Cally and want to go with her.

Dd is really getting into the Tegu blocks like her big brother. But we only have 4 wheels which has resulted in several arguments. I’m trying to decide if I should just buy them now for my sanity or try to wait until Christmas. Ds will be going back to school in a couple weeks so dd will have lots of solo time with them.

My kids’ interest in the wheels come and go, but we do like having more than 4, especially when they ask us to come play with them

I had my annual derm appointment this morning. She was doing the full skin check and said "You have something ..blue? on the bottom of your foot. Crayon?"
Sure enough, there were pieces of crayon in the bottom of my shoe. Just little shavings that I wouldn't have felt. THANKS, DS.
She also has a toddler and gets it, but LORDT. Will I ever be clean again?

Today was DDs last day of daycare. Apparently we got out just in time because all the other parents got a letter home saying that the state is telling them they need to close by the 12th! 😱😱

That’s so little notice!! Paperwork violations? It's been an ongoing thing. But whenever we ask it's a "it's no big deal. We're being proactive to fix it. We won't get shut down." And then this.

Oh shit sheilathetank that is so horrifying for the families still there. Omg. N is hardcore into tantrums every single day. Everything is his way or the cry meltdown tantrum highway. I’m so over it. He’s also refusing the majority of the food he used to eat before with no problem. ☹️ I’m at my wits end. This week of vacation is been so stressful at home all day with him. I need to go back into the old threads and find new food ideas bc the only thing he has eaten without complaint is pancakes because of the syrup. He didn’t even want pouches! Like we can’t even go for a walk because he wants to go straight when we need to go right or something stupid. 9/10 times I just let him lead but when it’s 6:15 and we are 20min from home and dinnertime is at 6:30, he freaks the fuck out and just yells NO HOME NO HOME 😣

M is also a tantruming nightmare lately. Any chance it’s his 2 year molars or something making him not want to eat? Or maybe just toddler being toddler. It’s amazing how kids can be sooooooo different. D1 was NOTHING like this at this age. Hang in there. I’m tearing my hair out too 😑
