Not much going on here. We are going to hit the local farm in a bit and get some corn for dinner. There is nothing like fresh corn on the cob at the beginning of the season.

I’m not ready for it to be August yet. Me either. DNW summer to be over. Mines been such a hectic mess with all the house and job stuff. I just want a few weeks to be left for me to actually enjoy, but it's not going to happen.

It's SO weird to me that some schools start in August, August IS STILL SUMMER. Day after labour day is the perfect day to go back in my opinion

I totally agree, August is still summer. I'll have some new teacher days, otherwise I wouldn't be going back until September either.

Day after labour day is the perfect day to go back in my opinion We go back the week before Labor Day but we have to because we are in a high elevation in the mountains we have a lot of snow days. If we didn’t go back when we do, we really wouldn’t get out early enough to miss the heat.

I go back 8/19 and the kids come the 26th. Most schools around me start the week before Labor Day now after we had something like 12 snow days a few years ago. I’m just glad I’m in a building with a/c now because it’s so much hotter and more humid in August than June. Where we were before, we would’ve been better off starting later and staying later in June in terms of the heat.

I suppose I'm spoiled as we rarely have to factor in snow days, although it doesn't take much snow on the ground to cause them either!

Hi! Summer has been busy, but in a good way. C finished chemo in June 🎉, and she looks amazing. Her little blonde fuzzy hair is so cute growing back. M and the big kids have had a good summer with swim lessons and camps. Even though we didn’t take a real vacation, we have a few day trips planned the next couple of weeks.

We should be closing in like a week or two. Probably closer to two. But yes, we're basically neighbors.

Hello and happy Friday! I took the boys for haircuts this morning. It was C’s first! He cried and didn’t want to go in the chair at first (it’s actually a little car) but a sucker helped calm him down. He’s staying with my parents tonight while we take ds1 to Packer’s family night with the ILs. It’s basically a scrimmage but they have tons of fun stuff and activities for the kids + fireworks at the end. Then tomorrow we’re going to the WI state fair and maybe the zoo. Trying to pack in as much summer fun as possible!

Glad everyone is feeling better, quinn - how's AJ's lip? YAY paperbagliz! That is awesome news! It's my birthday today - I took off it off so I could drop N at daycare and head straight for the DMV, because my license expires today. Could have done it online but I wanted to get a RealID so I don't have to worry about remembering my damn passport for domestic air travel. Luckily I got out of there pretty quickly. Felt weird walking around with literally every piece of identifying documentation I own, though. After that, grabbed breakfast at Panera and have been bingewatching all the things. And I got a manicure. H will likely have to work late tonight, so we will celebrate as a family tomorrow. I will take a quiet day for myself today, though.

I’m not sure when we’re headed to the fair but we’ll definitely go at least once, did you check out the list of new foods?

Probably some morning hiking and some beach time! Maybe this time I'll remember DD's sand toys... No potty training updates, she hasn't done it since, haha.

Happy birthday cakewench!!! AJ's lip is better. Just a but swollen and a scratch on the upper lip that's all scabbed up. Thankfully he hasn't fallen and reopened it lol Thanks for checking 🙂

I’m just hoping they still have the Reuben egg rolls from last year. Anything good on your list?

C ended up spiking a fever yesterday and has a cough/runny nose. He still had a low grade temp this morning. This has been on/off since Tuesday so I’m going to take him in to check his ears this morning. I think we’ll stay home today and do the fair tomorrow. We’re all pretty tired bc we didn’t get home from the Packers thing until 11pm last night anyway.

pootsen hope C is feeling better! Food-wise I’ve heard the banana bites and deep-fried Italian stallion is super good. I never got the deep-fried French onion soup last year so that’s on my list along with deep-fried milk with cookie dip.
