Infant, Toddler, and Preschooler Check-in (7/31)

Age: 13 months

Milestones: nothing new

Challenges: just a headstrong child

Funny/cute stories: we went to see The Lion King at the movie theatre today. They have a special showing once a week for parents with babies/young children where the lights are only dimmed, the sound is down, and they have swings and a changing table and things like that.
The theatre was predictably packed and F spent the entire length of the movie visiting with other babies and moms.

How are you? Stressed. I've also now had my period for 7 days. I'm not impressed.

Anything else? Doctors appointment today went okay. Unfortunately to get a diagnosis by a psychologist it costs mucho money, which I might save up for, but in the meantime the doctor listened to me, gave me a questionnaire and a prescription to help with some of the things I'm feeling, and I'm going back in 6 weeks for a follow up and to talk about it more.
My doctor is amazing.

Age: 2.5

Milestones: Peeing on the potty! He brought it up and has been doing it for about a week. FX it keeps up! We're not pushing too hard because he starts a new DC in a couple weeks and we just moved. Lots of change going on.

Challenges: The attitude. OMG he's so strong willed it's just... TOO MUCH sometimes. He's wild and crazy and loving and snuggly and LOUD. He's just very '2' right now.

Funny/cute stories: The kid loves fish, but he pronounces it piss, or pissy for fishy. I didn't realize how much fish stuff we have (a game, movies, shows, etc.) and so lately we've been hearing the words 'piss' and 'pissy' a lot. It's funny seeing other folks react like, "what did he just say?!"

How are you? Overwhelmed and not great TBH. Long story short we still haven't sold our house, so we have two mortgages right now. 'Nough said I think.

Anything else? I have a hair appointment coming up and just cannot wait to get pampered a bit. My stylist and I have been texting about cuts and color. This is the longest my hair has been in about 10 years, so I'm excited to play with it a bit.

QOTW: Oh, he loves his pissy game. It's the one where the game spins and you have to catch the piss with your pissing rod.
