After all the silly cup suggestions here My DD hates all the sippy cups. Sheβs drinking out of open cups like a champ. Where did my baby go ? She started taking off her clothes and sitting on the potty. Iβm not pushing anything just telling her sheβs doing a good job. I didnβt realize the naked potty training method came from the o crap book. My in real life Momβs club all were hating on that book. But I saw the naked potty training method work for my friends daughter in 3 days and wanted to do that when itβs time. I really like the idea of keeping DD rear facing till 40lbs. And she seems to have no problem with it. I just am not looking forward to buying 2 more convertible car seats in 6 months or so when needing DS out of the infant carrier. . I have hand me down car seats from my sister that are labeled 30lb/3yo They are forward facing only. DD is 27lbs right now. Will be 2 in August I want to use them but I feel horrible for making g a decision based on money not safety. What should I do ? I may be an outlier but I make a lot of parenting decisions based on money because for me, that's just life. Take daycare for instance. The one I send her to is "affordable" in that it was the cheapest one we could find with the best options. Her friends go to these amazing, educationally rich programs where they teach them sign language and have rotating monthly themes and whatever. But my kid is happy and good and it's the best we could do. Would I have liked to have given her more? Yes, of course, but that's not in the cards. Car seats are crazy fucking expensive. I got one through coupon deals, buying a display unit, and the last one was from me sitting at my computer on prime day at 6am furiously hitting refresh before the seat sold out in less than a minute. That isnt an exaggeration. It was less than a minute. I've also bought gently used seats. I could not afford new seats for all the cars we have just because. If you can swing it then go for it, but if you can't and your child is within the weight limit and state requirements then I say release the guilt. Btw I'm glad she likes cups now!

We just turned DD. We got halfway home from the Cape and she puked. She was so incredibly upset and wouldn't get back in the car. So we said fuck it. She's less than 2lbs off from the CT state limit and we're technically in Rhode Island anyways. The seat allows forward facing at 22lbs so I know the seat is safe. She is so incredibly happy right now that she can see everything. FX for no more puke. Poor thing. How did the rest of the ride go? It rocked! She felt well enough for us to stop for some lunch, which I was hesitant with but we were all starving. She ate and then passed out for the rest of the ride home. Mh is looking into how to switch our other seat tomorrow. Omg and the room we have now in the car!!!

@starzia if you do want to keep your daughter RFing we have the Cosco Scenera convertible seat which was less than $40 as our second car seat. It doesnβt have any bells and whistles and is not the easiest to install (I have to sit in it to get it tight) but it works fine once itβs installed and it is also our travel seat since it is much lighter than our other one.

As long as you are 100% certain the seats have never been in an accident, I donβt see an issue with taking used seats and using them until expiration. I just wouldnβt go off Craigβs list and get them from a stranger, you know? Are the seats for kids 30 lbs+? That seems odd to me, but Iβm not a car seat manufacturer so π€·πΌββοΈ

@starzia the other thing you could do is take the seats and bring them in to the trade in event at Target and use the discount on new seats.
This what we did with my mom's boyfriend's son and his wife. Our old seats were expired (and frankly I'd be concerned about that with your sister's seats - we JUST made it with our own kids who were 3.5 yrs apart). We gave them our old seats and they traded them in to get new ones.

The past few weeks have been really rough but the toddler was downright delightful today. He had a few grumpy moments but he is funny and imaginative and just so unbelievably adorable. I really enjoyed hanging out with him today and Iβm hoping weβve turned a corner maybe.

I got a shit ton on prime day. The good news is christmas shopping is pretty much done for DD. I was good this year and only bought stuff I 100% knew she'd like. Past years I've gotten a bunch of cool shit and she's never played with it. I did buy a $12 toy to give to her now to see if she'll play with it so I can put the other sets on her christmas and birthday list.

For people aren't following the Prime thread on GD - I've gotten good deals on Seventh Generation wipes and Babyganics bubble bath. Decent deals on granola bars and dried fruit snacks. I also finally bought a LunchBots snack container and got some utensils and bath toys.
There is a good deal on Hape kitchen if anyone is in the market.

What did you geeeeeet? highlights letter tracing book A giant Mosasaurus - DD's favorite dinosaur A Dinosaur bundle I've been eyeing for a while. It has a Therizinosaurus which is a pretty rare find. And the arms and legs move on them. A stainless steel water bottle with Elsa on it. We don't frozen but she knows Elsa from school. It was $3 so I couldn't not get it. A star wars galactic heroes playset with Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. This is my gamble to see if she'll play with it. A giant Acrocanthosaurus. It's a hand painted high quality one. It was a fuck ton of money (for a dinosaur) even on prime. But I know DD will love it. The What Should Danny Do book about how making certain choices can impact your day. And a face painting kit. Because DD's obsessed with face painting. The last thing i need to get is the land before time boxed set. Last year they had it and I decided not to get it because DD couldn't possibly still be obsessed with those movies. πππ€¦ββοΈ The only thing I got for myself was handcream. Mh bought a bunch of electronics and legos. We also spent $20 on a new printer for the house. The hardest part will be waiting 6 months to give these to DD.

sheilathetank , I'm impressed! I always want to get stuff for Christmas and such but I just can't think and commit that far in advance. DD is pretty easy because if it's dinosaurs then she's guaranteed to like it. So I went with that theme. Other years, yeah. I've spent so much on things that she never really played with.

Highly recommend thankfully HBO has about 10 of the movies, but god forbid they stop carrying them (netflix did this and it was a THING) or we cancel HBO. I need to have backup and I really don't want to take up the digital space needed for all 14 movies.

Super exciting lol. Iβm most excited about my target bookshelf find today π€£

Heyyyy! I spent a week down the shore for the holiday and was relatively unplugged which was nice. I also read all three of All Souls Trilogy in a week. It was the perfect summer read for me.
Iβm pretty happy with my Prime Day purchases. Highlights Puzzle Book Set of QuikStix thin paint markers 6 month subscription the National Geographic Kids More Beeswrap 2 games: Trash Pandas and Trekking: The National Parks A couple books for the kids.
I think everything will be for Christmas except the Beeswrap and Trekking. Which I bought alllllll for me.

Target: Amazon: - Reusable grocery bags
- Summer Infant Pop 'n Sit booster chair for DS2
- Nuby water bottle for DS1
- Sippy cups for DS2
- Twin sheet
- Stuff for beach vacation:
- Frio medicine cooling case for DS2's AuviQs
- Inflatable bed bumpers
- Sand toys
- Beach umbrella
- Beach wagon
I already received a couple things yesterday, and other than the umbrella and wagon everything left is already out for delivery today. Umbrella and wagon are scheduled for Friday.
The car seats from Target were also scheduled for Friday, which was making me nervous because we leave for vacation Saturday and I didn't want them arriving late and sitting on our porch while we were gone. Thankfully I just checked my order and they're now scheduled for delivery today as well.

My kid has always done so well at daycare drop offs but he has been crying every day this week and my H says today was the worst yet. Is it a phase? Will it get better? Should we be doing something?
He's been clingy at bedtimes too but that seems to be getting better.

Does anyone else's kid wake up like an absolute bear every morning? Its like her eyes open and she is instantly screaming in there, calling me and now recently at the top of her lungs "knock knock" and "out" π€£. I would ignore to let her simmer down a bit but she wakes my older girl sometimes.
