How old is your LO? 7 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. I have a bit of an oversupply, but it is getting better. I have used a bumblebee (silicone hand pump like a haakaa) a few times, just to relieve some pressure so I dont drown the baby. At 6 weeks he was 3 lbs over birth weight, so he is doing a great job.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? I am doing a lot of side laying nursing, and using the Boppy some. My biggest struggle is the oversupply. It is really only an issue some of the feeding, where it comes out to fast, and he has trouble keeping up. He gets upset, and needs to be burped a lot through those feedings.
Questions/AW? Nothing for now

How old is your LO? 11.5 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. Mostly good. She’s been extra fussy today and wanting to just hang out on the breast. Not sure what’s going on.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? Trying to figure out when to pump to start building a freezer stash. I didn’t respond well to the pump last time so I’d like to get started now to make sure I can get through the back to work transition.
GTKY: what is a cleaning / organizational / cooking / household tip or trick you love? I’m not very good at household tips. I have to call my mom or sister for help with everything. I am kind of organized though. Lots of bins! I bought The Home Edit book and am making my way through my house.

How old is your LO? 3 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. It’s going okay. I think his latch is a little shallow but I’m having a hard time getting him to open wide enough and keep it open. It mostly just hurts initially for a few seconds?
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with?
Crossover hold and cradle hold. Some side lying.
See above for struggles
Questions/AW?
GTKY: what is a cleaning / organizational / cooking / household tip or trick you love? Meal planning and freezer meals are my favorites right now

How old is your LO? 8 days
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and supplementing. Good so far. My milk came in quickly (which I didn't expect) so I switched from the tube to bottle for supplementing. It's going well! She mostly only needs a bit of formula once during the day and once in the evening. I was going to try to cut the formula put completely but I might continue to supplement the night time feed so that DD1 and my parents still get a good night sleep. If at some point she starts refusing the formula all together or isn't crying for more after feeding then I'll rethink this. But it's working well for the moment.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with?
Baby had a super shallow latch to start with so much nipple were both torn and bleeding from pretty much day 1. It seems to be getting better as my supply increases but it is still a work in progress.
Questions/AW?

I have organized all DD1's toys into clear plastic storage containers (each container has a different set/collection/theme) and it has made cleaning up and organizing her things so much easier. I did the same with all the craft supplies in her art room. Now she just pulls out the storage container she wants, takes it to where she wants to play with it, and then puts it away once she is done. Magical!

How old is your LO? 11 months! Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, pumping at work 9-12mo What’s something BF related that you worried about when pregnant or with a newborn that turned out fine? Making sure my freezer stash was sufficient for this first year. I've been stingy with it, and as we get close to the end of me pumping at work (18-ish more working days), we're going to be totally fine. Questions/AW? GTKY: what is a cleaning / organizational / cooking / household tip or trick you love? Ha. We are completely in survival mode still, so my favorite is to try to touch things as few times as possible. If I pick it up, I don't set it down until I can put it completely away. Read more: howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/26818/15-first-year-check-chatter?page=1#ixzz5tDf3ZjkY

potatocakes, I have tried that a few times, and it does help! I definitely should do it more often, though the oversupply/overactive let down has been getting better recently, thank goodness

Hi everyone! Popping in after a long absence because I'm looking for advice. DS2 is a few days shy of 11 months old. 9-12mo What’s something BF related that you worried about when pregnant or with a newborn that turned out fine? This was my second baby and he struggled to latch initially. I was so worried we would never have a BF relationship, but here we are, 11 months in, a good 4 months longer than I made it with my first! Persistence pays off. Questions/AW? I'm struggling to navigate the end of our breastfeeding journey as I think my DS2 is beginning to wean. I'm conflicted about what, if anything, I should do about it. I had really wanted to make it to 12 months, but my supply is plummeting and baby is starting to lose interest. Right now on work days he nurses about twice per day (morning and bedtime), and sleeps through the night 11-12 hours. I pump 3x at work and once at my bedtime. I'm struggling to get ~6-8oz per day this way, which goes into daycare bottles. I'm supplementing a bit with a tiny frozen stash, which is likely to be depleted within the next week. On weekends when I'm with him he may nurse 4x/day, but he distracts easily. I'm not sure how much he actually gets when nursing. He LOVES food including cheese, and drinks water from a cup, so I'm not worried about his intake overall, just looking for tips on trying to extend BF just a little longer. Or reassurance that it's okay to follow his lead. Anyone have stories or advice to share? GTKY: what is a cleaning / organizational / cooking / household tip or trick you love? Hire someone LOL, can you tell I have two kids and I work full time?

If you end up supplementing to get through your workdays for the next month, you can still breastfeed morning and night if you're interested. Alternately, he doesn't need as much milk during the daycare day if he's eating other food well. Would it be an issue to send 2x4 oz for daycare?

frecklesnbrains, i would gradually drop pumping sessions with the goal to be at 1 pump per day when your DS is 12 months. then drop that after a couple of weeks and just nurse on demand at home. at 12 months you can start sending in cow's milk to daycare if your DS likes it. with my previous 2 i stopped pumping a little after a year and had no issues going on to nurse for another year (or more) after that. i tried not to limit them at all when i was home just to keep my supply up. BFing after a year is the best because you can forget all the pumping/measuring stress!
