How do you think DH will take the news? Any thoughts on how far along you are? Eeeerk! He is excited. He asked me if I was sure and I showed him all positive 4 tests. I’m guessing I’m almost 6 weeks... first day of my last period was around June 1st but I wasn’t really keeping track.

August Blooms I hope you get some answers from your doc soon, and before I forget- I wanted to mention that my good friend also became pregnant with a copper IUD. They ended up leaving it in for the entire pregnancy, and she had no complications. Her son is now a very healthy 5 year old. Just wanted to mention that, in case your doctors advise not removing the IUD. My friend had this happen while she was living in South Korea, so that must be the standard over there. Good luck with everything- thinking of you!

So my OBGYN called back and got me in this morning for and ultrasound and appointment. The IUD is nowhere to be found which is so weird but just my luck. I’m pretty sure I would feel it exit so it’s somewhere in my uterus where they couldn’t detect at this point. There’s a baby measuring just shy of 6 weeks where it should be. The Dr apologized for the situation which was nice but was pushing a decision if I’m going to proceed with the pregnancy since he’s going on vacation. Taitai They will leave it in for the pregnancy like happened to your friend. I’m like 95% sure I want to proceed and 5% like how the hell can I handle 3 kids and will I have to buy a mini van and we are probably never going on a vacation again and I never going to sleep or finally get back to my pre kids weight. At least the new house has 4 bedrooms and I have a generous maternity leave.

August Blooms - whatever the decision you make will be the best decision for you and your family. I’m glad you are not at risk. I promise you will sleep again if you decide to proceed. Teenagers sleep a lot (thinking long game here! 😂). I totally get the vacation fear - it feels like everything in the world is made for families of 4 and that’s why H and I are currently on the fence about another. However minivans are totally awesome 🚗 😎 🚙

August Blooms I’m so glad you were able to get in, but how weird about the IUD not being there. If it is somewhere in your uterus during the pregnancy, did the doctor say whether that could cause any issues? I wonder if the IUD placement matters. I would be feeling the same way as you - going from 2 to 3, when you did not plan it is an overwhelming feeling. We’ll be here for you no matter what. Big hugs. 💕

@augustioms what a relief to know it is not ectopic. I’m sure as the idea of 3 sinks in and gets more familiar it will be just as exciting as #1 or 2. And hey, everyone says going from 1 to 2 kids is the hardest! And going to three is much easier. Please keep giving us updates!

So I’m having a ton of cramping, lower back tenderness and my sense of smell is crazy already. On the plus side I got in with the same midwifery practice as I had with my other 2, 🤞I get the same team!
We fly out tomorrow to visit the in-laws, it’s going to be hard to hide not drinking since my MIL makes me want to drink and she’s used to seeing me enjoy my wine. I’m excited to see my nieces and the IL’s.

I have about a month left of summer vacation but they finally got our classrooms cleaned so we’re allowed to come in if we want. I’m trying to get a ton done this week setting up my room so we can take the girls on a bunch of mini day trips at the end of the month. I do love going in to my classroom by myself though. I play music or listen to podcasts (none of which are school appropriate 🤣), snack all day and get to be by myself. Myself. All alone for 7 or 8 hours. My introvert dream! 😆

My DH: what is this witchcraft!?!? Me: they’re called spanx 😬 The Nordstrom’s anniversary sale is coming up, and that is when I always get my spanx on sale! Just a tip in case you are in the market for more. I always end up buying a pair each year.

August Blooms as I was catching up reading your original post I’m like 😱😱😱 congratulations! We’re here for you no matter what and going to page rebeccabunch mommabakes there are a few O17 I can’t remember I know are on 3. Guise come back! We need halp! doodlemommy will at least be a few steps ahead of you 😬 I would totally panic too especially if we weren’t planning on a 3rd. Well good omens then that your new house will be able to accomodate plus you’ll be settled in when baby comes. BTW if family asks, just tell them you’re on a diet cleanse that eliminates alcohol and caffeine for a certain period or something to that effect 😅 OMG! Congratulations!

thatgirlrachel you are a superlady!!!! I definitely x a hundred billion cannot go through grad school with the kiddos. Nooooo waaaayyy plus working FT. I just about barely survived it with FT work and I was even alone - like I totally didn’t even consider a relationship during that period of time. You can do it! And congratulations! So glad to see you poking back. danvers how do you have only 1 month left and how is your H recovering? Taitai hoping things will slow down for you to enjoy your time here. 1 month will be gone in a blink with how busy your schedules will be. bootsorhearts1 we're definitely teething hardcore over here too. Lil fella's gums are so so swollen and he keeps sticking his fingers into his mouth. I had a Klingon this morning and barely got myself ready to get out of the house for work and school drop off for DS. All lil dude wanted was me.

This week was fairly busy with work and I worked at home for a couple of days. I was worried I would be distracted by lil fella but it worked out well between him going out to the playground with my folks part of the morning and him napping after lunch I managed to stay focused in addition to decide to work out in the patio. It wasn't too bad and actually quite nice despite the heat; I dialed up some music and turned on the fountain, put on a long sleeved white shirt with my ridiculously ginormous hat and sat under the dappled shade of the pergola and went to town drawing. I am sure my neighbors thought I had lost my marbles looking the way I did with my piles of books scribbling away. Reminded me of Samantha's gigantic hat. Mine isn't quite that big but it's still pretty large ETA. The grilled flank steak was good! so easy, you guys should try it. We grilled shrimps and scallops too and I used the corn salsa on those too and it was muy bien! The only thing I would do is reduce the sugar in the dry rub to half or even less. I also omitted the cayenne pepper and ancho chile and subbed the paprika for smoked paprika.

Opinions? This is her most favorite way to sleep. When I put her down for bed and naps she immediately turns and wedges herself between the crib sides like this. She does roll around at night, but usually is in this general position. My question is... do we think she lays like this because she likes to be wedged between the "safety" of the sides or do you think it could be the orientation of her crib? Obv no one can really tell me for sure, i was just curious if anyone has experienced something similar. I could move the crib but im afraid of change 😂

cythe 😅😁 if she’s not waking herself up I would leave her. Lil fella does the exact same except he would wedge himself at the corners and often times bonk himself and wails and thus wake himself and us but a few minutes of patting, he’s back asleep. I’ve placed a bolster at the head and foot of his crib to minimize the head bonks and He somehow manages to burrow to the corners 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I think some babies love the security of a confined space... I’m of course talking out of my a** 🤣
