We are still in Michigan at dh's Grandma's house and she doesn't believe in drinking any alcohol but we've been hiding wine in the garage and drinking it after the kids have finally gone to sleep and after tonight's bedtime I drank quite a bit and I'm currently pretty buzzed. Bedtimes have been the biggest pain in the ass and I told dh (jokingly) we aren't going on vacation ever again because dd1 refuses to go to sleep and it's killing me!

This sleep regression/leap/teething thing is killing me slowly. Last night was awful and I ended up cosleeping with C for most of the night because he kept popping awake and sitting up as soon as I put him down. But even sleeping next to me, he still kept waking and trying to sit up in the bed and waving his arms around and wanting to nurse. He literally at one point was squirming and fussing and waving his arms while his eyes were still closed. Motrin did not do much. He's been pulling up to stand constantly the past few days and is even trying to let go, so he's definitely got some major development going on.
I think tonight I'm going to have J take the first shift and give him a bottle so I can get a solid block of sleep because there is not enough coffee in the world this morning.

It's ridiculously hot and humid here. The air is so heavy it's like hitting a wall if you go outside and it's hard to breath out there. It's supposed to be 100° tomorrow. So we're stuck inside. Boo.
DD's sleep/nap times are all thrown off since Wed when she had the fever. She just went down for her second nap at 4:40...
I seriously don't feel like I have anything exciting going on around here. I wish I had something worthwhile to contribute to conversation 😆

Dh's Grandma didn't want to turn on the AC in her house until yesterday and it was 80 degrees in her house. Tomorrow we are going to traverse City for a kids catamaran cruise in the morning so hopefully it won't be too hot since I'll probably be wearing dd2 on the boat.

Ugh, I imagine the humidity is even worse if you're not used to it. Although, I live here and it's still miserable to me so I don't know how 'used to it' you get! It's hard to get used to when summer weather is really only for a few months. Man, I hope it's not too hot up there for you tomorrow. Stay safe and drink lots of water in the heat!

Took the kids to see Toy Story 4 this morning. It was cute. DD didn't do as well now that she's older and didn't just sleep through the whole thing.

We had fun on the catamaran ride today but all the girls (4 under 4 years old) starting melting down afterward when we went to get lunch. Dd1 actually fell asleep really fast tonight so that was a nice surprise.
I'm so ready to go home to my own bed, house, shower, etc. I also can't wait to not have 10 people around all the time and get some alone time.

Just wanted to pop in to say hi and that I won't be around much this week. Didn't want anyone thinking I disappeared!

DD did ok, minus the two potty breaks and falling down (and ensuing crying) once we got back in the theater. C was pretty decent, all things considered, but I was really hoping he would nap (he did not). But we made it through the entire movie, which is much better than when I took DD to see Ralph Breaks the Internet back in December and had to leave halfway through. I think maybe we'll find a babysitter for C for when Frozen 2 comes out in the fall so we can enjoy it more without squirmy baby.

Traveling with a crawler that wants to walk that isn't quite walking might be my least favorite age to travel. I can't put her down on the floor but she doesn't want to be held. 5 more hours to go 😒

I feel bad because C wants to crawl/cruise around so badly and most places we go that's just not an option for him.

Here’s hoping we all survive.

I hate having to carry dd2 all over the park when we go or just leave her in a swing. Let's get walking DD!

The little guy has HFM y'all. Boo! I'm going to be so upset if DD gets it and has to miss her first day of school. 😭 We had so much planned for the next week and a half to enjoy before school begins. 😪

DD woke with a fever and sore throat. Omg. I'm just really really hoping she only has those symptoms and doesn't get the spots too because that will screw us over for school. 😩 Yesterday, I was fighting off something middle of night. I had chills and pounding headache then woke up incredibly nauseous. After about an hour I was back to normalish and just a little nauseous. This living in tight quarters sucks. Lol!

We took the kids to our city's annual fair/festival today. It was fun! It's close enough to our house to walk, but I was sooo hot by the time we got back home. I took a cool shower then passed out while the kids were napping. The heat really wiped me out!

Dh and I got invited to sit in a box at the Seattle Sounders soccer game in mid August and I'm SO excited. It will be the first time leaving dd2 so I'm a little anxious, but two nights kid free in Seattle will be amazing! 😀

Well, C popped another tooth yesterday, which explains his crappy sleep for the past week. Last night he actually slept in his crib and was only up twice, which is more his normal. And DD stayed in her bed all night (thanks, new reward chart!). I actually feel pretty well rested today!

So at our 9 month wellcheck, the doctor actually suggested that DS had Roseola and not HFM 🤷♀️. Either way, he's doing better and really no red spots left. Anyone ever have experience?

Guess I should have kept reading. No experience but I'm glad it's not HFM. Hope your DD is feeling better and could go to school no problem!

We're back from vacation. It was a great week and both kids loved the beach. DS1 was excited from day 1 but it took DS2 until the last beach day to decide it was fun to crawl around the sand. We did the trip with my cousin and her husband and while sharing the house and spending the week together went well, she's asking if we want to do it again next year and I'm just not ready to make that decision 1 1/2 days after getting home.
