lemondrop Our schedule is similar to grover. 7/7:30am Wake and eat 8:30am nap (in the car, taking big sis to school and any errands I need to run) 10:30am Eat 11/12 nap (usually 2 hour nap) 1:30/2 eat 3/4 nap (shorter nap) 5pm eat 6:30 nap 7:30 bath 8 eat and bed Obviously this is just my outline of schedule and she some days she has a different plan for the day. Every now and then she’ll add an extra feeding in. Our schedule is really similar to this, but we still have 1 to 2 wakeups at night. Boys are taking 4 to 5 oz of breastmilk for each feed.

I should also mention that my H is now home with the boys, and he's been having good luck getting them to consolidate to 3 naps instead of 4. He is more patient than I was trying to get them to take longer naps (patting them, rocking, etc.) I just used to think once they're up, they're up.

I’ve been putting her down for naps in her crib instead of downstairs in the PNP. She also just started trying to roll and is now wiggling all over the crib instead of going to sleep at nap time.

When one of our guys was fussing last night, I went to him and he had rolled over to his tummy! We had been swaddling with one arm out to work on transitioning and he was able to do it. Previously he had only rolled tummy to back during tummy time. So I guess tonight we are pulling swaddles!

I'm not sure where to put this, but I want to AW that I got promoted with a 13% pay raise! Woo! Hopefully that will help our childcare costs, lol.

DD usually eats at 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, 8, and 2am.
She naps 3-4 times a day. She is still sleeping in her cradle in our room at night. She will be 4 months old next week (eek!), and I think we’ll start transitioning her to sleeping in the crib in her nursery.

I am jealous of all these naps. H only naps once a day and I'm lucky if it's 1.5 hours. He still nurses about every 2 hours during the day but only once or twice at night.

Any high chair recommendations? When do babies really start using them?

orangehibiscus, I can't find the exact one we have (bought in 2015) but we started using it when we started solids (which was just after DD turned 5 months.) I would recommend getting one where the tray pulls completely off, makes it much easier to clean!

I can't believe we are already talking about high chairs! Crazy. We had a mamas and papas brand, I think. We still have it, but it's kind of big.
Honestly, this time around I think we are going to use the bumbos we have that come with trays. Right now it's a floor seat. When they start eating you can strap it to a regular chair. Then when they are bigger, you can remove the cushion and tray and it's a booster seat. I got them for around $40 with a buy buy baby 20% off coupon.

Any high chair recommendations? When do babies really start using them? Ours is a cheap one, I think BRU brand that we got with E, but I like that it folds up pretty compactly because we're short on dining space and don't leave it open when we're not using it. Get one that has a fabric that is easily wiped down, and one that is easily removable and machine washable. There are some that have trays that can go in the dishwasher too. I took ours can but it's so large I never did, but I never felt it needed more than a wipe down anyways because I did that after every meal. I know a lot of people who got the "space saver" ones that attach to a normal chair but I didn't like that I would be forced to give up a chair that way (like if we are having friends over, I'd have to bring up a folding chair or put the kid on the floor). We started using ours when E could sit up mostly on her own and we started real foods, which was around 6 months.

Any high chair recommendations? When do babies really start using them? We have the one from ikea, but I’m going to have to buy a footrest for it, since I’ve recently learned it’s important for them to have that. I bought the oxo sprout (I think that’s the name) that converts to a regular seat, but DD1 has claimed it as her chair. I may end up buying a second one because I like it so much (although I’ve never used it for a baby). And we started using it around 4 months when she could sit up more. I’d put her in there with the cushion support so she could play at my level while I ate.

So last night we started sleep training. We're using Ferber, where you go in every 3 minutes, then 5, then 10, etc., gradually getting longer. We did still feed around 2 AM though. I don't even mind if that wakeup lasts a few more months. They had seriously been waking ever 40m to 2h and we couldn't take it anymore.
I'm tired but I feel like it went well, all things considered. We yanked swaddles and did the nested bean weighted sacks. We'd been swaddling with 1 or both arms out for both so it was NBD. We also didn't give them their pacis because I cannot keep waking up to put them back in when they fall out.
One guy fell asleep right away, shockingly. The other took 22 minutes. Throughout the night, there were a few more wakeups but nothing more than 10 minutes!
Hoping tonight goes even smoother because we are seriously sleep deprived! I never thought I'd sleep train but something had to change. 😴😴😴

You guys! We have a 3-month old! He’s been going through a thing the past few days (mental leap?) but I am so ready to be leaving the newborn stage behind.

I’m getting nervous for the 4 month leap/sleep regression. Is it as awful as I’ve heard? We haven't had any issues (knock on wood). He sttn

She tuned 2 in March, and I don't know if this is a combo of 2 year regression, 3 molars popping thru, fireworks, or all of the above.

Oh, 2 questions:
1. If you already weaned (or weaned with another baby) how quickly did your boobs go back to their normal (or new normal) size? I weaned 2 weeks ago (or 3?) and my before pregnancy bras are too tight in the cup, and my nursing bras are too big. I want to spend some money getting quality ones, but don’t want to go too soon and have to get new ones in a month. Which brings me to #2
2. H and I are going to TTC #2 when Max turns a year next April. Would you bother going back on hormonal BC or use condoms? My OB is ok with either, and I’m a little wary of using hormones again (it took us over a year and visits with an RE to get Max).

lemondrop, since it took us 3.25 years and IUI to get DD, I refused to go on bcp. That said, I wannted to start the 6 month clock for the RE in case we had to go back, so we didn't use condoms either. However the first few months we just avoided during the ovulation window. That said, we did return to RE at the 1 year mark.

I’m also 33 (will be 34 when we try again - most likely 35 when we have #2)) and I don’t want to do anything that might cause more issues as I head into AMA.

lemondrop between ds1 &ds2 we just used condoms since we also wanted to try around a year. I also just tracked on fertility friend too. Also after weaning I didn’t really go back down in size. They just lost their perkiness. 😩

I have a question about sunscreen. I know it’s best to just let them in the shade but we are going on vacation next week to the beach. I am going to buy a baby beach tent but I will probably be putting her in the pool with me for short periods of time too. Is anyone using sunscreen and can you recommend what is best?
Also we will be walking around and even in the stroller depending on time of day and stuff the only way to completely keep her out of the sun is for the car seat shade and the stroller one to be completely closed together and I don’t feel comfortable with that so I feel like sunscreen will help?
Also we have a stroller fan to clip on to help keep her cool but if the shades are closed it can’t be used.
