We're on our way to the University of Michigan MFM for a consultation with them. I'm curious if they'll have any other opinion or insights on this crazy pregnancy.
This afternoon I also have another doppler with my normal doctor. They originally didn't schedule me this week due to the holiday but the doctor said he didn't want to wait that long in between appointments. I was going to go into work today but it probably won't be worth it for only a couple hours. I'll only be in once this week.

So one of my H’s best friends and his wife just had a baby about a month ago. I’ve been wanting to get over and see them but have also wanted to give them some space and time before visiting. The wife texted me this past Friday and said one of her clients was providing dinner to her and her H but it was enough to feed 6+ people so she asked if my and H and the kids wanted to come for dinner. So I told her we would be there and she shoots back “great come over anytime after 7pm”.

So I had a not so great moment at dinner last night...
We went out to a mexican restaurant for my FIL's birthday. There were 10 of us at the table and it was pretty loud with music blaring over the sound system. We had already been there over an hour and my kids were doing pretty well. When they started to get annoying/whining/loud, my MIL gave them her phone to watch Finding Dory. They were both sitting on my lap watching it and I was talking to my SIL on the other side of the table. It was just me and the kids at our end of the table and there was a table of 6 perpendicular to our table. The adults are in their early 50s, maybe with a grandma and 2 kids that looked probably 12 & 14.
The dad turns around and tells me to get headphones for the kids because it's too loud. I turned down the volume and told him I didn't have any headphones. He proceeded to tell me how incredibly rude it was to let them watch something without headphones. I told him that I don't know any 2 year old that will keep headphones on and that I had already turned down the volume. He started talking shit to me again and I told him it was either listen to finding dory and he could listen to them scream. The wife turns around and says she'd rather listen to them scream because there's nothing you can do about that. Ummm, yes there is. They can watch finding dory. They both told me how rude I was and I told them very loudly that they were being jerks and if keeping my kids quiet was such an inconvenience to them, that they could move. Only 5 tables were occupied in the restaurant. I asked how the blaring music was okay but Finding Dory wasn't.
I watched both of them go talk to the manager separately. This poor kid looked like he was 20. He was polite and told me that people were complaining about the volume of my phone. I told him I was aware of the people that had complained, I had already turned down the volume and if they still had an issue with it, they could change tables. No table had gotten food yet. He went to their table, told them he'd comp their 1st round of drinks and he'd get a table ready for them. The couple continued to keep talking to me about it. I asked them to remember what it was like when their kids were little and wouldn't behave properly at a restaurant and they informed me they never had this issue. Then the lady waited until everyone from her table was gone and told me "It's called fucking phone etiquette." I'm sorry, did you just say the F word in front of my 2 & 5 yo kids? Bitch.
Anyway, I'm not proud of my behavior and I'm sure I embarrassed some of the people at our table. Even my MIL went over and tried to remind them they had little kids once, too. They were just assholes. I should have handled the situation better. Had the guy just been nice about it and not condescending to begin with, I probably would have just sent the kids to the other end of the table. But I chose to be a bitch out of spite.
TL;DR - I got in an argument with the table next to us at dinner last night because Finding Dory was too loud for them. It wasn't even that loud...

Fuck them tgrimes. If she would legit rather listen to them cry than listen to them watch their movie, then it had nothing to do with the volume. They were just assholes. In general I do agree people should use headphones. But you're talking about small kids in an already noisy environment, AND you turned the volume low.

Luckily it’s summer so I can stretch bedtime but damn. My kids are going to have to have second dinner.

Fuck them tgrimes. You turned it down. I have never seen a kid wearing headphones in a restaurant. I’ve also never been disturbed by a child watching an phone/iPad. That lady needs to chill the fuck down.

Rabbit rabbit! tgrimes - I probably would have reacted similarly. My kid is killing me today. When I got her up this morning she told me she wanted "some naked babies" (lol, wut). Then she elaborated and said she wanted some naked babies so she could tickle their tummies. Then she modified that to 100 babies. I tried to explain to her 100 babies would be a lot to handle all at once but she wasn't convinced. lol Later she started practicing her introductions, where she learned this, I have no clue. But there was a lot of "Hi Asti" (the dog), "I'm Yay-yah and this is my mommy". 😂

goldenlove, how did everything go? At least the Doppler with the regular doctor? tgrimes, seriously! I feel like people in their 50+'s do not remember having littles. I bet their kids didn't act poorly in a restaurants because they didn't take their kids out to eat at restaurants. (My parents only took us to restaurants after a certain age) You know they only wish they had a phone or tablet to entertain their littles back then. Were you there for an hour and didn't get food yet? (I hope I'm reading that wrong) Or did you mean the rude table hadn't gotten food yet? If you're kids were there without food for over an hour, then god bless them for behaving as long as they did. danib, I clean almost twice as much in the summer as I do in the winter! LOL I feel like the dogs smell more in the summer (probably like people LOL) and so I want to make sure the house doesn't smell like dog! And the shedding is endless. They get furminator wash and brush-out by professionals 2-3 times in the summer, plus weekly furminated by me and they still shed something fierce. No speech for today or next week. Just play group on Wednesdays! Not a short week for me as we'll do make-up classes for Thursday on Friday. whomp whomp. We went to the park and L actually tried to say his name! It came out as Lee-Lam but still! That was the first interaction with another kid that I've seen. She was a pretty little girl too, maybe he's a flirt. LOL When she left, he said Bye Bye... maybe he's not so shy! I have all the feels and excitement.

Cheshie6 we were at dinner for a total of 3 hours. We were waiting on my BIL’s brother & girlfriend to show up, then drinks took forever, etc. Neither table had gotten food yet but they had only been there for about 10 min.

Cheshie6 yes the cats definitely smell more in the summer too!! I hate it so much. So I'm scrubbing everything down constantly to try to keep it smelling fresh.

Dinner last night was nice. We are outside in their screened in porch so the kids were confined and not running wild. We ate pretty late though and didn’t end up leaving until 9:30. She was having a hard time getting the baby to settle so I think everyone was ready for us to leave 😂.
It’s raining this morning so I think I may check out a new indoor play place today with the kids. I really wanted to bring the kids to this really cool old wooden swing set but I may save that for another day.

Glad you had a good time though.

Well the appointment went ok. They did an ultrasound which I wasn't expecting then we met with the doctor after. They added a couple more concerns that we didn't hear before but I think it was more of a case of baby being in a bad position again. Like they said her having her hands in a fist the whole time could be concerning but we have ultrasound photos where they are open. I dunno.. seems like we'll never really know if anything major is going in until after she's born. They even had us meet with the genetic councilor and she said there could be some type of syndrome or genetic issue that wasn't detected by the amnio.. because there's literally hundreds of things that could happen that aren't tested. Like gee thanks.
Our main concern right now is just getting through the rest of the pregnancy and delivering her safe. We're trying to decide if we should switch hospitals since we'd be more comfortable with the new place if we needed NICU. It's just on the complete opposite side of town from work so dealing with twice a week appointments are going to be rough. Buuut work will just have to deal with it.

I'm working from home again today. I have my normal appointment with my midwife then C has a pediatrician appointment a couple hours later. I'm taking him with me for my appointment since both places are near each other. I'm going to attempt to get his haircut in between and grab some lunch. I hope he cooperates.
We're off tomorrow for the holiday and I took Friday off as vacation. I'm ready for the long weekend! We don't have any big plans though. My goal is paint the nursery and build the furniture so I can start going through clothes, etc. My Amazon registry completion discount is available so I'd like to order a bunch of stuff and just be "mostly" ready for baby. Hopefully we can get out and do something fun with C too so we're not just stuck in the house the whole time.
